Description

The white willow is a graceful tree that grows 30-90 feet tall, with a trunk up to 3 feet in diameter. Like other willows, it has long branches that tend to droop toward the ends with slender leaves hanging from them. Its leaves tend to be paler than other willows, with the undersides appearing nearly white. Its pale yellow catkins flower in the early spring. After pollinization, the catkins lengthen and form several capsules that contain white down-covered seeds. It frequently grows in marshy areas or near bodies of fresh water. White willows usually have grey-brown bark that can become very heavily grooved in older trees. It has golden wood.

Lore

The willow is a real world plant. While willow bark is traditionally used to help with headaches, the bark of the Elanthian white willow heals minor nerve damage, offering the same effect as wolifrew lichen.

Appearances

Bark from the white willow can only be found in Naidem. It can most easily be foraged in marshy areas of the main festival grounds as well as a handful of places in the Innocent's End and Vigil's End neighborhoods.
