Talk:Experience
I was very confused by the absorption section because of the mentions of "base" absorption amounts per pulse, but no descriptions of what the "base" amounts actually are. Apparently somebody measured them in this post:
25 is the base rate for a node in town but not a supernode. 27 is the base rate for a supernode. 23 is the base rate for in town but not on a node. 16 is the base rate for outside of town. I just tested them all using a fresh and clear character (close to belled so no pool bonus) with empty hands, no injuries, and subtracting the appropriate number from my LOG bonus (bonus / 5 inside town and bonus / 7 outside town)
Should we add these figures to the page or am I missing something? - MERZBOW (talk) 19:09, 22 September 2017 (CDT)
- Thanks for the great feedback. I'll see if we can get those numbers verified by staff. VANKRASN39 (talk) 21:00, 22 September 2017 (CDT)
I'm adding this information to the main wiki as the original research is from a trusted source. WINTERDAWN (talk) 14:51, 25 April 2019 (CDT)
- I ended up re-testing things and came up with different numbers. WINTERDAWN (talk) 02:26, 1 May 2019 (CDT)
Testing Information
BEST WAY TO TEST FOR YOURSELF: Get to fried and measure the XP gain per pulse in various situations/places. I feel that fresh and clear testing may yield bad results.
ODDITY 1: Started at clear as a bell. Killed a creature for 40 XP. Absorbed 20, then 16, then 3, then 1. This was while out in the field with empty hands.
ODDITY 2: While at a table...

Extreme Saturation Absorption Rates
You can absorb well above 100 a pulse while in saturation (and extreme saturation) and so after fried there's additional bonuses tacked on. WINTERDAWN (talk) 17:47, 18 March 2021 (CDT)
