In another of Morvule's early appearances as foreshadowing ahead of the Griffin Sword Saga's formal start, he appears as Achillea, one of his newly-marked War Initiates, speaks with Atania, a priestess of Lumnis. In it, he confirms - and demonstrates - Achillea's claims about his immortality and the gifts that Luukos has bestowed upon him in service to his god.
This log is from Atania's perspective. It has been lightly edited.
You take a drink from your fruit juice. Achillea says, "my master, has something no others promise" Achillea says, "immortality" You say, "Impossible." You say, "Unless one wishes to serve out 'life' as a hollow husk of a zombie-rolton." Achillea says, "the misguided souls, call it undeath" Achillea says, "such higher forms of undead then a silly zombie" You ask, "Higher forms?" Achillea says, "ye see, those undead you see normally, are cursed beings" Achillea says, "whether of my master or from some other source" You say, "When my eyes look upon such, I will believe it." You say, "Until then, the best I have to compare be a 'cursed being'." Achillea says, "they either deserve the curse for crimes in life" Achillea says, "or perhaps some other source has cursed them, and to those I say, release away" You hear footsteps from somewhere, and the swishing of a cloak soon follows. Achillea says, "but the faithful of my master, can rise in immortal form, the same means of creating undead, except rather as suffering souls in tormented decaying bodies, are rewarded souls in grand bodies, with much power and communion with my master" You blink. You ask, "And to the untrained eye, appear as mortal as you or I?" You hear a low, hissing voice say, "You guesssss correctly." You stand back up. You turn around. Achillea smiles at you. Achillea just kissed the symbol! Slivers of emerald light coalesce upon the floor and rise up to form a cloaked figure. >look [Silvergate, Dining Room] Sounds of silver on china combine with the aroma of well-prepared food to whet your appetite for a meal prepared by Wehnimer's finest. Wooden beams overhead and the sight of a large boar roasting on a large spit remind you of a hunting lodge you once knew. Laden with platters of food and drink, waiters navigate the many tables filling this room, efficiently seeing to their guests' needs. Counting yourself lucky to find an empty table in this well-frequented hall, you settle to enjoy your meal. Also in the room: Lord Morvule, Achillea who is seated Obvious exits: south. Achillea stands up. Achillea bows to Morvule. You nod to Morvule in greeting. You say, "Good eventide to you." You see Lord Morvule Thinevael the Luukosian High Priest. He appears to be very old, has emerald slit-pupiled eyes, and dark green scaled skin. He has a series of wavy ophidian marks upon his neck. He is holding a dark wooden staff swirled with a sinuous spiral of black ora in his left hand. He is wearing some dark flowing robes, a carved emerald Luukos symbol set upon a disc of bronze, a gleaming bronze ring set with a glittering red gem and a long deep-hooded cloak. Achillea says, "greetings honorable Priest" Achillea sits down. Morvule hisses, "The War Initiate sssspeaks to you truly." Morvule smiles at Achillea. You say, "Aye. She always has." You sit down. Achillea smiles at Morvule. Achillea says, "now ye have seen, Atania" Morvule hisses, "I am immortal. Gaze upon me, and you will see my many faces." Achillea says, "perfection" You say, "But you do nay appear .. " Achillea says, "the masters reward of the faithful" You furrow your brow, probably adding a wrinkle or two in the process. Achillea gazes fondly at Morvule. The scaled man's face suddenly changes. You see Lord Morvule Thinevael the Half-Elf. He appears to be in his 100's, has shoulder length, wavy silver hair, multihued eyes, and dark skin. He is in good shape. He is holding a dark wooden staff swirled with a sinuous spiral of black ora in his left hand. He is wearing some dark flowing robes, a carved emerald Luukos symbol set upon a disc of bronze, a gleaming bronze ring set with a glittering red gem, and a long deep-hooded cloak. (Atania's eyes widen.) You say, "This be what you speak of." Achillea smiles at you. Achillea says, "I have always told you truth, Atania, the lies of liabo totaly distort undeath and immortality" The scaled man's face changes again, his visage like water as it ripples and reforms. You see Lord Morvule Thinevael the Elf. He appears to be in his 100's, has shoulder length, wavy silver hair, multihued eyes, and dark skin. He is in good shape. He is holding a dark wooden staff swirled with a sinuous spiral of black ora in his left hand. You say, "A gift, to change such faces with ease." Morvule hisses, "We are many, and we are none. Everywhere, and nowhere. A ssssnake in the grassss..." Morvule hisses, "Think about it." Morvule disappears in a flash of emerald light.
