This is a special meeting called by Talliver Dabbings caught from the viewpoint of Aliashyrah.

Night of Potential

[Icemule Trace, Town Center - 2300] (u4042150)

The center of the slumbering frontier town is overseen by a sturdy mule statue carved from glacial ice, which rises from the surrounding snow on a plinth of cold dark stone. The brilliance of the stars winks through the ice, casting prismatic glints of light over a scattering of townsfolk. Some halflings chatter quietly by a colorful silver-bound barrel emblazoned with a row of tiny grey penguins, while others stargaze on colorful cloaks spread out across the hard ground. Near the comfort of a smooth dark stone bench, a roaring bonfire crackles merrily, lending its warmth and illumination to the surroundings.

(*We followed the Ranger)

Roelon just slipped quietly through a vast black crevice, with his group following closely.

[In The Crevice - 3310] (u4130001)

The crevice walls press close together, giving you a sense of claustrophobia. A crack in the wall of ice provides the only exit to the outside, and the ice slopes downward opposite the fissure, leading into the gloom.

Also here: Krayton, Chronicler Falvicar, Grand Lady Opalina, Coins, Nalver, Dendum, Sirona, Kelfyr, Laralana, Bakarus, Mistress Lithyia, Envoy Lilanna, Ntinly, Lord Sorlu, Khoshekh, Fropple, Perigourd, Draelor, Commodore Loralaii, Lord Barjin, Faerinn, Town Councilor Vaemyr, Whimweaver Leafiara, Magister Raelee, Lord Randsford, Ceilia, Mayor Talliver, Leff, Tikba, Roelon

Roelon ducks his head.

Vaemyr smirks.

(*And got lost)

Roelon just slipped quietly through a crack, with his group following closely.

[Icemule Trace, Exterior - 3308] (u4130023)

The sheer wall of the glacier blocks the northward progress of the icy trailway. It diverts instead toward a vast black crevice in the glinting crystal, passing near the imflass gate in the wall of the nearby penitentiary. Moonlight sparkling off of the ice casts shards of pale radiance over the area. Steps have been carved into the glacier and ascend to a slick flat atop it. You also see a massive snowy white tiger.

Dendum points at some carved ice steps.

Talliver points at some carved ice steps.

Speaking to Talliver, you say, "He is a ranger. This is how rangers get places."

Roelon just slipped quietly up some carved ice steps, with his group following closely.

[Glacier, Flat - ] (u4130025) Atop some carved ice steps, a wide icy flat crowns the glacier, which is faintly aglow with rich blues and greens from reflected light. The glacier is tall enough to provide a tantalizing glimpse of the town to the south, with its short stone buildings and winding burrows. Northward, it looks over an unforgiving wilderness of icy mountains and snow-swathed plains, threaded through with glimpses of the Olbin River. You also see a massive snowy white tiger and a massive ice giant emissary.

Also here: Teaberry, Jiarine, Nalver, Seaward Gutstorm, Town Councilor Vaemyr, Lady Flittacat, Miss Chandrellia, Sir Geijon, Bilfords, Eofora, High Lord Svardin, Falicor, Earthdiver, Tikba, Mayor Talliver, Ceilia, Lord Randsford, Magister Raelee, Whimweaver Leafiara, Faerinn, Krayton, Chronicler Falvicar, Grand Lady Opalina who is sitting, Dendum, Sirona, Kelfyr, Laralana, Bakarus, Mistress Lithyia, Envoy Lilanna, Lord Sorlu, Khoshekh, Fropple, Perigourd, Draelor, Roelon, Gorga

Randsford flashes Roelon a wolfish grin.

A massive ice giant emissary folds his great arms over his chest.

Perigourd folds his hands behind his back.

Sirona smiles.

Dendum says, "Ohh nice view."

Falvicar moves to stand in front of Opalina.

Speaking to Roelon, Vaemyr says, "You been taking direction classes from Cryheart."

Speaking deeply to Randsford, Roelon says, "We are not in hinterwilds. Ah call this an amazing start."

Krayton says, "Cold out here."

Krayton chuckles to himself.

Khoshekh gazes out.

Leafiara's face lights up with joy.

Roelon grins at Randsford.

Krayton says, "I liked the bonfire in town."

Sorlu grins at Vaemyr.

Falvicar whispers something to Opalina.

Randsford nods in agreement at Roelon.

Randsford snickers.

Krayton pulls the hood of his spidersilk cloak up over his head and settles its folds around his face.

Krayton pulls his spidersilk cloak tightly around himself, looking up at the sky uncertainly.

Roelon surveys the area.

Loralaii darkly says, "It's the scenic route."

Speaking to Roelon, you say, "Do not let their confusion bother you, Councillor. They are just not as aware of the method behind a ranger's movements."

Lithyia gazes in wonder at her surroundings.

Lithyia shivers.

Speaking to a massive ice giant emissary, Nalver asks, "Are you old enough to remember the town underneath this glacier?"

Speaking deeply to you, Roelon says, "Ah am makin' sure we were nae being tailed, as it were."

Ntinly blinks.

Speaking to you, Perigourd says, "One has to shake of those trailing."

Speaking to Roelon, you say, "It is the ultimate misdirection to always appear lost but yet make it to your destination when needed."

Bakarus glances around the area.

Lithyia says, "I should have dressed warmer."

Lithyia shivers.

Perigourd nods at Roelon.

Roelon nods once.

You nod understandingly at Roelon.

Ceilia offers Lithyia a knitted black wool cap.

Opalina tugs the hood of her white bearskin coat up over her head, carefully attending to the drape and fold of it as she does.

Lithyia says, "Thank you, i shall be ok."

Ceilia put a knitted black wool cap in her laced leather pack.

Ceilia nods understandingly at Lithyia.

Speaking flatly to Talliver, Gorga says, "So. You have a plan."

Roelon nods at Talliver.

Leafiara tilts her head toward Talliver, examining him intently as the tip of one ear twitches briefly.

Sorlu leans leisurely on his Nalfein-styled cane, a thoughtful expression upon his face.

Vaemyr tilts his head toward Talliver, examining him intently as the tip of one ear twitches briefly.

Lilanna turns to face Talliver.

Roelon slowly empties his lungs.

Roelon raises an eyebrow.

Speaking deeply to Khoshekh, Roelon asks, "Perhaps somethng to keep warm?"

Roelon offers Khoshekh some steaming whiskey-spiked coffee.

Randsford nods grimly at Bakarus.

Khoshekh accepts Roelon's whiskey-spiked coffee.

Talliver nods.

Khoshekh grins.

Speaking to Roelon, Khoshekh says, "Thanks."

Khoshekh issues a quick, appreciative bark.

Roelon nods once.

Khoshekh takes a drink from her whiskey-spiked coffee.

Krayton removes a bottle of aged scotch from in his dark spidersilk pants.

Roelon pours himself some steaming whiskey-spiked coffee.

A cold wind howls over the glacier, whipping at the cloaks of and jackets of the gathered townsfolk.

Ceilia tugs the hood attached to her cowl up onto her head, easily hiding her face in its folds.

Roelon pulls the voluminous tartan-lined hood of his black leather duster over his head, shadowing his face.

Krayton touches the hood of his spidersilk cloak, arranging its folds around his face.

(Lithyia pulls on her wrap.)

Opalina tugs her yierka hide blanket up higher around her face, and bundles up tightly into its thick folds. She looks cold.

Speaking to Roelon, Khoshekh says, "This is good."

You give the peak of the hood on your robe a small tug, which helps to maintain its bowed shape around your face.

Falvicar rubs Opalina's shoulders gently.

Krayton takes a drink from his aged scotch.

Lithyia gazes in wonder at her surroundings.

Sorlu just closed a tailored dark hematite overcoat caught at each sleeve with a jade-sheened dark sanguine bloodjewel.

Krayton giggles.

Falvicar gazes in wonder at his surroundings.

Wrapping his leather cloak around himself, Draelor pulls it tightly closed and fastens the carved bone clasp. The claws sewn into the cloak make a soft rattling noise as they clatter together.

Nalver gathers the folds of his elesine cloak tightly around his body.

Speaking deeply to Khoshekh, Roelon says, "It has ah bite to it, will keep ye on yir toes."

Opalina assumes a meditative posture, sitting with legs folded and hands resting upon her knees. She closes her eyes, pauses and breathes deeply, clearly concentrating on something.

Tikba looks thoughtfully at a massive ice giant emissary.

Krayton put an uncut emerald in his leather loot sack.

Khoshekh nods approvingly at Roelon.

Dendum tugs on the leather-strapped warg fur hood of his buckskin jacket, allowing it to shadow his face.

The crowd settles down.

Dabbings Address

Talliver says, "Now then."

Talliver says, "I appreciate your attendance and support."

A massive ice giant emissary gives a disconcerted scowl.

Talliver says, "Icemule Trace stands at a crossroads."

Talliver's eyes wander eastward, toward the crumbling ruin in the Dragonspine. It is black against the darkness of night, with no watchfires to illuminate the old stones.

Talliver says, "During the Winter War, we pressed for our total separation from Ta'Vaalor, and we have attained that independence."

Talliver says, "Our victory--if victory it can be called--was not without cost. Now, in a time when forces rise in the darkness and move brazenly across Elanith, we are alone."

Talliver takes a breath, his eyes surveying the faces of the gathered crowd.

Talliver says, "I do not believe that Rammael's efforts here were capricious or unplanned, and it is my stark belief that Icemule Trace is in the sights of those who seek to do us ill."

Faerinn gasps, "The Empire."

Talliver says, "We may not have foreign airships flying overhead, but neither do we have fleets ready to respond in our hour of need. Nor can the schism that we helped create be easily undone, even if we cared to undo it."

Speaking to Faerinn, Talliver says, "I do not believe Turamzzyr has turned their eyes toward Icemule Trace, but..."

[Realm] Roelon thinks, "To those seeking the meeting of the north. Seek the glacier outside the north gate, and up the icy steps."

Talliver says, "It is the nature of the Empire to expand."

Faerinn says, "In due time yes..."

Talliver says, "Whether it is Turamzzyr, or the elven houses, or this so-called Coven..."

Talliver says, "I have often felt that a sword was a better defense than a shield."

Talliver says, "Sufficient power is a deterrent to a great deal of aggression."

Talliver wets his chapped lips.

Talliver says, "And that power comes through unity."

Speaking to Gorga, a massive ice giant emissary says, "As the assimilation of your people into Icemule Trace has already proven. We are better and stronger for the addition of the Crawling Shore half-krolvin."

Speaking cautiously to a massive ice giant emissary, Gorga asks, "We?"

A massive ice giant emissary says, "I have dwelled among the people of this town for some time now."

A massive ice giant emissary says, "You are honorable and fierce, all of you."

A massive ice giant emissary says, "...even if you are small."

Talliver chuckles quietly.

Speaking to a massive ice giant emissary, Talliver says, "I'm glad you feel that way, as it's my intent to ask your people to join us, as well."

Talliver says, "I speak of nothing less than a nation of the North."

Gorga frowns.

Faerinn exclaims, "Freedom in the North! A nation of the North!"

Lukewarm Reception

A massive ice giant emissary looks thoughtful, but says nothing.

Nalver says, "Hrm."

Gorga firmly says, "We will not be ruled over by halflings. My people would need a voice."

Svardin says, "Has always been a halfin and giantman town."

Earthdiver fades into visibility.

Talliver quickly says, "We are nowhere near to any sort of agreement as to governance."

Speaking to Svardin, Talliver says, "If this endeavor is to succeed, Icemule would be but a part of a greater whole."

Bilfords asks, "Isn't everyone in Icemule ruled by a halfling? Currently?"

Speaking to Talliver, Svardin says, "Why we hasta change status. Free city from always."

Fropple says, "Yes we are in charge."

Speaking to Bilfords, Gorga says, "The Mayor does not rule me or mine."

Talliver loudly says, "I do not rule *anyone*."

Opalina says, "Actually.."

Talliver says, "I am just one elected voice."

Opalina says, "There is an elected ..."

Randsford says, "Icemule did not chase out one empire and a king to replace it with another. This is to be a Free North for all that are willing to contribute."

Svardin says, "Long agreement between ice giants, Icemule, ice trolls based on mutual respect and freedom for all."

Roelon deeply says, "Each will hae their voices heard."

Faerinn asks, "Maybe elect a chorus of voices then?"

Bilfords says, "I only meant, someone has the responsibility to make final decisions. And today, that's Talliver."

Speaking to Bilfords, Kelfyr says, "Not ruled, led."

Talliver patiently says, "We must walk before we can run."

Bilfords says, "Potato patauto."

Speaking to Talliver, Perigourd asks, "Does this nation have a name?"

Bilfords exclaims, "The Northlands!"

Svardin says, "Snowy."

Faerinn asks, "The Northern Frontier Confederation?"

Faerinn asks, "Or maybe Federation?"

Speaking to Perigourd, Talliver says, "As I said, first we must walk."

Seaward Gutstorm just stumbled in, flailing his arms wildly while trying to right himself!

Talliver says, "Rather literally."

Svardin says, "A referendum."

Bilfords asks, "Borders being discussed?"

Speaking quietly to a massive ice giant emissary, Talliver asks, "How many clans of giants are there here in the North?"

Svardin says, "Many."

A massive ice giant emissary nods at Svardin.

Ntinly just went down some carved ice steps.

A massive ice giant emissary says, "Many indeed."

A massive ice giant emissary says, "Not all ice giants believe in my clan's ties with your town."

Sorlu asks, "Are those clans as trustworthy as the Black Cairns Clan though?"

A massive ice giant emissary says, "But there are also other giants entirely. Giants of frost, storm, and fire."

Svardin says, "Before ya make any strides towards being a nation, ya must consult the ice trolls. Dey has always voiced dey has a stake in what Icemule becomes. Dey can be a very powerful foe if ignored."

Speaking to Sorlu, a massive ice giant emissary says, "We are the most trustworthy."

Nalver says, "What if we called it a Coallition of Independent Peoples instead of a nation or kingdom. Those words seem quite inviting of those that would use power to the detriment of others."

Sorlu says, "I would tend to agree."

Bilfords asks, "Would the other clans?"

Svardin says, "Ice giants is quite honorable."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Dat wut a trusherty giant would shay."

Speaking to Talliver, Gorga says, "If you are sincere in this endeavor, you will need to do better than you have done with my people."

Speaking to Nalver, Laralana agrees, "That does seem reasonable."

Falicor says, "It does seem frivolous, to argue over semantics. Very elven."

Gorga sharply says, "We have fought and bled for Icemule Trace, but still we are looked down upon and consigned to the outskirts of your society."

Speaking to Falicor, Nalver says, "It's more than semantics, but in the structure of what the agreement is."

Talliver closes his eyes.

Speaking to Gorga, Opalina says, "I always look up to you."

Speaking to Gorga, Bilfords says, "Who looks down on you? I thought you've been welcomed. By most of us at least."

Speaking to Opalina, Svardin says, "He's tall."

Speaking deeply to Gorga, Roelon says, "And such matters must indeed be addressed. Yir people hae been ah great help to Icemule."

Gorga gives an eloquent grunt.

Speaking to Svardin, Opalina exclaims, "So are you!"

Talliver says, "We can and must do better if this effort is to succeed."

Speaking to Gorga, Randsford says, "Your demands are valid, what would you like to see done? That is the point of these conversations so we can all come together and move forward."

Roelon deeply says, "The Wsalamir mae ponder this as well when word reaches them."

Speaking to Nalver, Faerinn says, "I like coalition, but still partial to a federation."

Speaking to Roelon, Svardin says, "Dey know."

Speaking deeply to Svardin, Roelon says, "Ah am sure they listen even now."

Gorga says, "Living spaces. Participation in governance. More businesses."

Speaking to Gorga, Opalina says, "I heard there is a new group called THAT.. that is working on finding living spaces."

Lithyia says, "Seems more than a fair request."

Speaking to Gorga, Talliver says, "You speak true. Your people have bled a great deal on the front lines for this town. You have my word that we will address your integration."

Speaking to Gorga, Nalver asks, "How many of your people are there? And of that, how many would want to leave their land and come into the city?"

Speaking to Gorga, Lilanna asks, "I believe we have an election coming up soonish, perhaps a few of your people would chose to run for town council?"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "If her people bleed lotsh, maybe dey not good at fighin, should hire better me mercanary."

Gorga considers the suggestion.

Svardin says, "She is quite an able fighter."

Speaking flatly to Lilanna, Gorga says, "Yes. I like that."

Speaking drunkenly to Svardin, Gutstorm slurs, "Oh?"

A massive ice giant emissary says, "My people will not consent to being ruled. Perhaps we will rule over this nation."

Speaking to Gorga, Svardin says, "As always, everyone is welcome in Icemule unless they plot to kill us."

Speaking to Lilanna, Randsford says, "I believe it would be in everyone's best interest if there was one council member per ally joining. They can vote for themselves. There can be others from a shared pool of candidates but at minimum each should have at least a seat on the council."

Talliver frowns.

Tikba mildly says, "Perhaps no people need rule over any other people."

Speaking to a massive ice giant emissary, Bilfords asks, "Would you along side others?"

Speaking to a massive ice giant emissary, Dendum reminds, ""There are more forms of alliances than slave and master, ruler and ruled.....there is the bond of brothers and sisters."

A massive ice giant emissary says, "...this is not the way of giants. The strong rule the weak. What you are asking is... difficult."

Svardin says, "Of equals."

Speaking deeply to Randsford, Roelon says, "Indeed, each enterin' should hae ah representative to be their voice."

Speaking deeply to a massive ice giant emissary, Roelon asks, "Together, we become even stronger. Nae?"

Faerinn says, "A chorus for the North."

Speaking to a massive ice giant emissary, Kelfyr asks, "Many fingers make a fist. There is strength in a collective unity, is there not?"

Speaking to a massive ice giant emissary, Dendum states, "Would remind that giants have entered into pacts with others of strength before.....like the orcs."

Speaking to a massive ice giant emissary, Geijon says, "Only when you use old assumptions."

Geijon says, "It is not difficult to find agreement, if a path is present."

Lilanna says, "As the good mayor said in better words, we're jumping the wagon.... UNity and alliance are the goals, not sovereignity over each other."

A massive ice giant emissary says, "This will not be something I decide."

Speaking to a massive ice giant emissary, Nalver says, "I think what you say is a very valid point. This is an effort to create strength to prevent us from being taken over and ruled by, at best, another empire. At worst, avatars of evil Arkati."

Speaking to a massive ice giant emissary, Svardin says, "Nothing would change of the old agreement. Your warriors test themselves against ours and vice versa."

Speaking to a massive ice giant emissary, Randsford says, "A rock is just a rock by itself. Put those rocks together and you have a wall that is much more formidable and stands for something much bigger."

How to Convince a Giant

A massive ice giant emissary says, "If you are to convince my people, you must convince our elders. In person, as your bard did."

Speaking to a massive ice giant emissary, Falvicar says, "Depends on what one means by strong. Strong is not always based on size nor who has the sharper blade. Some battles require a strong mind."

Speaking to Randsford, Lilanna says, "Aye."

Speaking to a massive ice giant emissary, Dendum admits, ""It is right to speak to the elders on this yes."

Roelon deeply says, "Then perhaps, we must do so again."

Talliver says, "Well put, all of you."

Lithyia says, "Then we will convince your elders."

Speaking to a massive ice giant emissary, Opalina asks, "You have a group of elders?"

Lithyia says, "It's what must be done."

Speaking to Talliver, Kelfyr asks, "So far you've spoken of an alliance of three peoples. How wide are the arms of this nation you seek to build?"

Svardin says, "Chieftains."

A massive ice giant emissary says, "All of the clans have elders. Giants who are strong live long, and giants who are weak do not."

Speaking to a massive ice giant emissary, Earthdiver asks, "Are your elders the strongest?"

Speaking firmly to Earthdiver, a massive ice giant emissary says, "They are strong and wise."

Speaking to a massive ice giant emissary, Nalver asks, "Do you trust that bard?"

Speaking to a massive ice giant emissary, Opalina says, "That would be a great suggestion to bring to the table on how to govern a large body of joining groups."

Speaking to Nalver, a massive ice giant emissary says, "To a point."

Speaking to Roelon, Nalver asks, "What is the bard's name?"

Faerinn says, "I hope very wide."

Faerinn says, "For hugging."

Speaking deeply to Nalver, Roelon says, "Hazelnut."

Speaking to a massive ice giant emissary, Nalver asks, "Would you agree to a few meeting with your elders if Hazelnut was to come along?"

Nalver says, "Excuse me."

Speaking to Geijon, a massive ice giant emissary says, "They have lived longer than the rest. That means that they are both."

Tikba diplomatically says, "As you say, it is the elders that must hear the Mayor's proposal."

Speaking to a massive ice giant emissary, Svardin says, "When the fire cultists beset us, recall how we all banded together to defeat them, ice giants, ice trolls and da citizens and defenders of Icemule."

A massive ice giant emissary nods at Svardin.

Talliver asks, "Valfald, would you be willing to share the locations of some of the giant clans you consider most likely to listen to diplomacy?"

Faerinn says, "Also think of how much was accomplished when peoples came together againt the Ravager."

A massive ice giant emissary grimly says, "I would not betray the locations of my own clan's hold, much less those of other clans."

Speaking to a massive ice giant emissary, Dendum remarks, ""Perhaps a moot?"

Speaking to a massive ice giant emissary, Nalver asks, "Could we find a neutral place to meet with them?"

Speaking to a massive ice giant emissary, Svardin says, "A wise choice."

Lithyia asks, "When do you think this meeting could be arranged?"

A massive ice giant emissary hesitantly says, "A Giantmoot has not been called in many years."

Svardin says, "At Standing Stone."

Lithyia says, "I know one person who would wish to be at it more than anything and will do everything in his power to be there if he can."

Svardin says, "By the Ice Spire."

Speaking to a massive ice giant emissary, Dendum remarks, "An offer like this has not been made in many years."

Eofora softly says, "Thas a sacred place."

Speaking to a massive ice giant emissary, Randsford says, "There are threats at our walls and across other nations as well. It is time for all of us to come together. We will meet your demands and attend at place of your chosing. Trust must begin here for us all."

Speaking to Svardin, a massive ice giant emissary says, "There is an old place where once the giants of ice, frost, and storm gathered with our more elusive brethren, like the fire giants."

A massive ice giant emissary says, "We called it Crystalhall."

Svardin says, "In the mountains."

A massive ice giant emissary says, "...more, I cannot say. But I will inquire with the elders of the Black Cairns."

A massive ice giant emissary says, "Perhaps they will meet with you, if the little bard comes."

Svardin asks, "Lilanna?"

Perigourd says, "Hazelnut, I believe."

Lilanna pokes Svardin in the ribs.

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Arnt all bardsh lil to yoo?"

Tikba reminds, "Hazelnut."

Svardin says, "Is a lotta lil bards."

Speaking to Svardin, a massive ice giant emissary says, "We like little bards. Bring many."

Svardin says, "And dem."

A massive ice giant emissary says, "...it could not hurt."

Ceilia's eyes crinkle slightly at the edges.

Opalina says, "Sounds like they are hungry."

Falicor asks, "No big bards though?"

Opalina exclaims, "Im teasing!"

Speaking to Talliver, Gorga asks, "And until the giants answer your request, what will you do?"

Svardin says, "Rufus believes he is a bard."

Speaking to Gorga, Talliver says, "There are allies close to home that we can reach out to. It sounds as if a meeting with you and your people is a good place to start."

Talliver says, "But also, the Abbey and Briarmoon Cove."

Speaking to Talliver, Nalver says, "What of leadership from Briar..."

Nalver says, "Yeah that."

Faerinn says, "I'm partial to briars."

Faerinn says, "Cousin to the thorn."

Speaking to Talliver, Dendum reminds, ""Pinefar should be kept informed they stand guard at the steps of darkness and chaos."

Talliver nods.

Talliver says, "And Pinefar, certainly."

Talliver says, "The Abbess Mellian has often spoken of her desire to see the abbey become a seat of culture and spirituality once again."

Svardin says, "Someone must speak with Belle and Saba."

Speaking to Talliver, Nalver asks, "How far south would this conglomeration of peoples go?"

Tikba mildly says, "I have sometimes heard it suggested that even Wehnimer's Landing is part of the north."

Chandrellia appears less confident.

Lithyia says, "There are those of us from the Landing that will stand with you..."

Svardin says, "Da Ice Krolvin would certainly be excluded as they are openly hostile despite their proximity."

Talliver says, "I've not turned my thoughts that far south."

Speaking to Talliver, Nalver asks, "Danjirland?"

Dendum offers, ""As much as it would benefit the landing to have aid from the north...must admit getting into hostilities with the humans would be a poor start to things."

Earthdiver says, "One thing at a time, perhaps."

Speaking to Dendum, Talliver says, "I do not want to birth a nation in bloodshed."

Faerinn says, "There are...cracks showing in Aldora at the moment. Messing with an Imperial protectorate when civil war might be breaking out in Turamzyr is always a bad idea."

Laralana says, "I think the Landing has their own set of struggles brewing. I'm not sure they're in a place to offer help. Though there are always friends there that come to our aid without hesitation."

Svardin says, "Pledge no feifs, no landed aristocracy, all have a say."

Speaking deeply to Talliver, Roelon says, "Ah would agree with this with all mah kilt. If we do this, we do it right."

Geijon says, "Th' Landing has always been a friend of Icemule."

Svardin says, "And vice versa."

Svardin says, "Leap to each others defense."

Geijon says, "Aye. Indeed. Always Svardin."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "It cold up here, should mvoe dish town shouf a wee bitsh."

Laralana says, "It's true. Without hesitation."

Tikba calmly says, "It would certainly be no improvement to trade a mayor for a king."

Roelon deeply says, "Aye. Even if the spiders..."

Speaking to Roelon, Talliver says, "I hope that you and Svardin and all of the other Kindred will help in crafting an entreaty to the Wsalamir."

Speaking to Faerinn, Nalver says, "I fear there are cracks showing across all of Elanthia and a civil war would seem mild."

Speaking to Tikba, Laralana says, "I don't think anyone is suggesting we find ourselves a king."

Geijon says, "Cracks are not broken marble and perhaps sometimes imperfections are exaggerated."

Vaemyr says, "I... would not wish to drag you all into our conflicts. However, we remain friends of Icemule Trace... despite what happens from our mayor's trantrums sometimes... I will offer my full support in your endeavors though. I believe your cause is a good one."

Speaking to Nalver, Faerinn says, "Only in the old powers."

Talliver says, "There are smaller giantkin clans dotting the mountains, but the Wsalamir are numerous."

Svardin says, "Da entire west's defense is all of our business."

Gorga folds her arms under her chest.

Lithyia says, "Tantrums...yes... a lovely way of putting it...."

Svardin says, "As has been said, 'For evil to triumph, good men and women must do nothing."

Geijon appears less confident.

Falicor quietly says, "It is only in unity can we be secure against the threats coming."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Randsford says, "The Landing will always have our support but it is for the Landing to chose its alliances. Your empire will certainly not be happy with anything we do and it will be up to your people to decide how to react."

Speaking to Gorga, Opalina says, "You are not comfortable."

Lilanna says, "Icemule is nae known fer doin nothing."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Wut it know fer den?"

Talliver says, "Valfald, your reaction has convinced me that we must be careful in how we speak about this initiative."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Svardin says, "Snow cones."

A massive ice giant emissary raises a great bushy eyebrow.

Speaking to Gutstorm, Lilanna exclaims, "Fightin adversity. .. and gamblin!"

Speaking to Sorlu, Randsford asks, "Gambling?"

Gorga says, "Begin with defense."

Speaking to Randsford, Perigourd says, "I expect people within the empire would mostly be ambivelent."

Geijon says, "It is wise to stay to facts instead of opinion in charged situations like these."

Perigourd says, "If we're generalizing."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Who ye all fightin anyway?"

Speaking to Perigourd, Randsford says, "Let us hope as much. As I said Landing will always have our support regardless of what transpires."

Did Someone Say Coven?

Gorga says, "If this Coven rains down its might upon the North, all will suffer."

Speaking to Randsford, Sorlu says, "It can always be arranged."

Speaking to Randsford, Geijon says, "And as I am aware you are acting from a point of leadership in speaking."

Gorga says, "First we must stand together."

Speaking to Gorga, Opalina asks, "I agree do you have any suggestions for defense?"

Talliver looks thoughtful, rubbing his chin.

Earthdiver asks, "What is this Coven?"

Speaking to Geijon, Randsford says, "I am not, but I believe I speak for most Icemule citizens."

Speaking to Gorga, Svardin says, "As we have in the past, we will continue. Many have tried to defeat us. None have prevailed."

Speaking to Earthdiver, Gorga says, "They are a whisper. A black rumor lingering at the edges of the firelight."

Roelon deeply says, "Coven of Dusk...."

Speaking to Randsford, Geijon says, "Perhaps. That is not fact though so I'd say "Do you?"."

Speaking to Gorga, Dendum reminds, ""For its size the Mule is already very well defended though yes? Mighty walls and flying ships.....could use a few more flying ships perhaps...and a pylon..."

Speaking to Gorga, Earthdiver says, "So soon after the Gigas..."

Roelon deeply says, "Aye. We must, we will stand together in this."

Speaking to Geijon, Randsford says, "Agreed."

Talliver says, "Rammael was no rumor. He left a number of our people dead."

Falicor says, "It is best to face a threat without underestimating it."

Speaking to Talliver, Gorga says, "Yes. Our people."

Gorga nods grudgingly.

Speaking to Randsford, Falicor says, "And without sowing false discord."

Speaking to Talliver, Nalver says, "And all indications are that Rammael was not even actively trying to destroy anyone or anything. Those dead were the just the result of what knowledge he was seeking."

Gorga asks, "But magical foes are as numerous as crabs in the sea. How do you know that he did not act alone?"

Speaking deeply to Gorga, Roelon says, "Aye, ah grieve their loss, as our own. Rammael and his Coven will pay."

Speaking to Falicor, Randsford says, "Hopefully that goes without saying. We are here to move forward. We seek no ill will with anyone merely to stand stronger together with anyone willing."

Nalver says, "So imagine if one like that were to turn their efforts towards our demise."

Svardin says, "Others have tried as powerful and more."

Svardin asks, "They are not here are they?"

Speaking to Svardin, Opalina says, "Nope."

Speaking to Svardin, Bilfords says, "We name spells after them."

Svardin asks, "Shorty?"

Talliver says, "I know it in my gut."

Lithyia says, "I have been fighting my own battles, but in Grutak's absense, I promised him I would stand with Icemule...so I shall. I might not be much, but... unity is important now more than ever."

Speaking to Lithyia, Talliver says, "Good."

Lithyia says, "I will do what I can for all of you..and hope he returns in time for whatever is to come."

Speaking to Lithyia, Lilanna says, "Not much? everyone adds to the whole."

Faerinn whispers aloud, "Are we talking about Thurfel? I was his apprentice for like a day."

Speaking to Talliver, Gorga says, "I know the sensation of which you speak. It cannot always be trusted."

Svardin says, "Yep, shorty."

Speaking to Gorga, Opalina says, "That is so very true."

Speaking to Svardin, Faerinn asks, "Whatever happened to him?"

Talliver says, "The Coven is real, and I believe their hands are in events here and elsewhere."

Perigourd simply says, "Yfa."

Speaking deeply to Gorga, Roelon says, "Such feels, perhaps. But ah share such ah feeling."

Talliver says, "We must be prepared."

Speaking to Perigourd, Nalver asks, "That is not a name I have heard in a while. Why are we talking about her?"

Roelon deeply says, "Ah am nae alone in what ah saw."

Speaking to Nalver, Perigourd says, "Faerinn asked what happened to Thurfel."

Tikba mildly says, "It is always best to be prepared."

A massive ice giant emissary says, "I believe this as well. The night holds many terrors."

Nalver says, "Ahh."

Vaemyr says, "It was not long ago, that those beasts from Moonsedge attacked here, how many other forces like that may be in hiding out there."

Speaking to Gorga, Dendum says, ""There are rumors from the south in the human empire of disruption and deception.....we have seen that chaos brews in the elf lands as well. There are even rumors in the mountains of dark things on the move. If this is one person it is one person in many places."

A massive ice giant emissary says, "I will speak to the elders. And not just of my own clan."

Speaking to Talliver, Nalver says, "I do have an important question. Maybe one that is not so simply answered but something to think about."

Talliver gratefully says, "That's all we can ask."

Speaking to Gorga, Nalver says, "Something for you to consider."

Speaking to Nalver, Talliver says, "Certainly."

Speaking to a massive ice giant emissary, Nalver says, "And for you as well."

Sorlu begins to breathe less deeply.

Speaking to Dendum, Geijon asks, "Did you ever meet Valicar?"

Nalver says, "If this conjoining of groups moves forward and the world is about to be thrown into turmoil as so many believe, then what is our primary function? Is it to preserve the people of this region or is it to aid the world with what may come."

Svardin says, "I would suggest what we do. We fight those who oppress the innocents. It is as simple as that."

Speaking to Nalver, Talliver says, "I believe we must excel at the former so that we can succeed at the latter."

Speaking to Geijon, Dendum says, "No."

Nalver says, "Are we going to be isolationists or are we going to use our newfound allies to stop whatever it is that seeps from the cracks of Moonsedge upon the world."

Talliver says, "I believe there is a seed of goodness and cooperation in every such nation."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Ecen da elfsh?"

Speaking to Dendum, Geijon says, "Well, as far North as Icemule is, he was Sir Valicar of th' Northern Fury."

Svardin says, "Icemule and this region need to remain what we are. Welcoming to all who wish to be welcome."

Laralana says, "I don't know that we will have the option to be isolationists. I think our well-being may well be wrapped up in the fate of our neighbors."

Svardin says, "Lord General Valicar."

Geijon says, "Goodness is not a generalization."

Geijon says, "It is a daily pursuit."

Speaking to Talliver, Nalver says, "And when you build a fence around an angry weasel, you've just contained it to be your problem, not your neighbors."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Talliver says, "I fought alongside the Vaalor in the Griffin Sword War. They are as fine a people as I've ever met. Our little war was what happens when two peoples have different goals. That doesn't make them evil."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Goodnesh ish next to Geijonlinesh."

Speaking to Nalver, Talliver says, "Your point is taken. Barlan Kane must die."

Nalver says, "I think he wants to die but is stuck in a state of being."

Nalver says, "Much like Amasalen."

Speaking to Nalver, Dendum remarks, "This is true of all undead."

Gorga says, "I will speak to my people."

Speaking deeply to Nalver, Roelon says, "He stole ah curse without thinking. And it punished him as ah reward."

Talliver asks, "What other questions are there?"

Speaking to a massive ice giant emissary, Falvicar says, "Ronan watches the Night."

Speaking deeply to Gorga, Roelon says, "It is all we can ask."

A massive ice giant emissary nods at Falvicar.

Speaking to Talliver, Perigourd asks, "Will Cold River be coming as well?"

Gorga gives a firm nod.

Speaking deeply to Falvicar, Roelon says, "As do we."

Speaking to Gorga, Nalver says, "I have a question for you."

Speaking to Perigourd, Talliver says, "They are far from here, but also very near thanks to the Abbey."

Tikba thoughtfully asks, "How long have you been considering this proposal?"

Svardin says, "I'll just pass along somethin Rufus said. "It takes more courage and a great deal more wisdom to avoid a senseless fight than to pick one."."

Speaking to Tikba, Talliver says, "Since the attack."

Speaking to Gorga, Nalver asks, "Do you know of any person that was among the nobles of Moonsedge that made it out of there without being cursed to the unlife? Was there anyone who ever visited you all or maybe even sought refuge?"

Opalina says, "Well Said Rufus."

Speaking to Talliver, Dendum asks, ""Err....could specify which attack?"

Speaking to Svardin, Laralana says, "Rufus is wise."

Svardin says, "Um, I won't tell em."

Opalina says, "He already heard."

Speaking to Nalver, Gorga says, "Zeban's touch came there after it came to our village."

Speaking to Svardin, Opalina says, "He already heard."

Speaking deeply to Opalina, Roelon says, "He'll never hear the end of it now."

Speaking to Roelon, Opalina asks, "You think he would?"

Speaking to Gorga, Nalver asks, "I think that someone knows a secret to prevent that sort of unlife. Maybe someone came to inquire about herbs?"

Speaking helpfully to Tikba, you offer, "I believe he means since the most recent attack when Barlan Kane took the fight directly to Icemule."

Speaking to Perigourd, Talliver says, "I think it would benefit us to have a foothold in the Hinterwilds. There are resources there that we cannot otherwise garner, and a nation needs robust trade."

Tikba politely says, "Thank you."

Talliver says, "That, too, I have thought long about. Ta'Vaalor nearly ruined us by squeezing one line of trade."

Opalina says, "They did not do that."

Speaking to Talliver, Svardin says, "I must take my leave."

Speaking to Talliver, Earthdiver asks, "I am there often. Have you approached the halflings there about trade?"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Dem elfsh are shneaky."

Speaking to Talliver, Geijon asks, "Can you expand on that?"

Speaking to Earthdiver, Dendum remarks, ""Oh this Mayor is often approaching those northern halflings.....over dinner....and drinks...."

Speaking to Geijon, Talliver says, "Ta'Vaalor forged an exclusive trade relationship with Briarmoon Cove that prevented them from trading with us. It caused a great deal of damage to our town's finances and food became a bit scarce."

Speaking to Dendum, Earthdiver says, "They live a harsh life."

Speaking to Geijon, Talliver says, "We've since renewed our relationships with the merchants of Briarmoon Cove, but we're stronger now as well. Wehnimer's and Zul Logoth forged new trade pacts with us in the interim."

Speaking to Earthdiver, Dendum informs, ""Hrmm yes...is good diplomacy that...with the dinner and drinks...."

Speaking to Talliver, Nalver says, "So much so that some of our councillors begged the people of Ta'Vaalor for food."

Nalver says, "Imagine that. Begging the people causing you hardship."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Wehminersh folk are fine folk."

Speaking to Talliver, Vaemyr says, "I was glad that we could strengthen our trade in those times."

Speaking to Talliver, Vaemyr says, "Makes us all stronger in the future."

Talliver says, "Just so."

Opalina says, "Humph."

Speaking drunkenly to Tikba, Gutstorm slurs, "Needed to take a quick drink too?"

Dendum says, "Well is good to end meal before knives find targets not on plate they say..."

Talliver says, "Unless there are other questions, I believe this has been a good first step."

A massive ice giant emissary nods.

Roelon deeply says, "Aye."

A massive ice giant emissary says, "It has."

Speaking to Lithyia, Lilanna says, "Sounds like somethin ye'd say."

A massive ice giant emissary says, "You have given us much to consider, little mayor."

Falvicar says, "Indeed."

Talliver quietly says, "Just 'Mayor' is acceptable, Valfald."

Ceilia's eyes crinkle slightly at the edges.

Speaking to a massive ice giant emissary, Talliver says, "Or 'Talliver'."

A massive ice giant emissary nods at Talliver.

Speaking to herself, Chandrellia says, "I happen to like little mayor."

Tikba amusedly says, "After all, we do not call you Large Valfald."

A massive ice giant emissary says, "I would not dislike that."

Speaking to Tikba, you say, "Perhaps that is an oversight on our part."

Faerinn says, "We should try the title for size on Thadston."

Leafiara amusedly says, "Noted. Large Valfald."

The crowd begins to stir again.

Chandrellia grins at Leafiara.

Speaking to Faerinn, Falvicar says, "I'd discourage that. Thadston isn't known for humor."

Talliver says, "I thank you all for coming. With your support..."

Breaking into a wide smile, Dendum nods with satisfaction.

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Wut if Valfald tiny by him folk shtandard, me dunna call him tiny inshtead."

Talliver says, "...I believe this dream will be realized."

Lithyia says, "Thadston is.... nevermind."

Fropple adopts an agreeable expression.

Tikba nods respectfully at Talliver.

Fropple casts his vote with an emphatic "Aye!"

Speaking pleasedly to Talliver, Leafiara praises, "I'm impressed beyond words with the vision expressed tonight. It's been a pleasure seeing groundwork clearly laid toward a future with trustworthy allies."

Leafiara nods firmly.

Opalina says, "Indeed."

Khoshekh barks loudly in agreement.

A massive ice giant emissary gives a grunt of acknowledgment and begins making his way down the steps.

Gutstorm stands up.

Bilfords says, "Agreed."

Laralana nods in agreement at Talliver.

Roelon nods slowly.

Draelor seems to lose some internal strength.

Lilanna nods at Leafiara.

Sirona appreciatively says, "Thank you for allowing this audience with you."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Buh bye tiny!"

Draelor is no longer moving so silently.

Tikba politely says, "It is a wise proposal. I am glad to have heard it."

Roelon deeply says, "Much to ponder for everyone. Ah unified future fir the North."

Draelor loses a thorny barrier.

Falvicar grins at Talliver.

Speaking to Falvicar, Faerinn says, "Fortunately I have a far harder head than his. Twice he's headbutted me, and twice he's come away with knots on his forehead."

Sirona curtsies gracefully to Talliver.

Leafiara grins at Roelon.

Gorga cautiously says, "Vision is only part of it. Ideas without execution are mere fantasies."

Talliver bows.

Clenching his hands into fists within his direwolf hide gloves and holding them against his chest, Dendum bows low toward Talliver. Fiery Tilaok-hued light seeps into his body from the gloves, a brief ethereal image of a fox overlaying his face in a temporary mask as he straightens up.

Fropple just left.

You nod in agreement at Gorga.

Falvicar nods understandingly at Talliver.

Perigourd ponders.

Speaking to Gorga, Leafiara says, "Very true. But execution must start with the plan, at least."

Leafiara grins.

Talliver says, "I have a great deal of writing to do, it seems."

Sirona smiles at Teaberry.

Vaemyr says, "Tis good to see these developments indeed."

Lithyia says, "Indeed you do....it will be worth it Talliver."

Perigourd turns toward Talliver and renders a sharp hand salute.

Vaemyr nods at Talliver.

Speaking to Gorga, you say, "You speak with great wisdom and insight. It is important that we do not get caught up in the ideas and miss the very practical steps that must be taken to have a hope to execute them."

Gorga nods briskly at Leafiara!

Leafiara gives an approval gesture with her hand.

Falvicar turns toward Talliver and renders a sharp salute with his ebon high steel katana.

Vaemyr says, "Pleasant evening to all of you tonight."

Gorga turns around.

Gorga just went down some carved ice steps.

Tikba nods respectfully.

Krayton bows.

Roelon nods.

Teaberry stands up.

Geijon shifts his weight.

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Be well Roelon."

Talliver gets a thoughtful look on his face.

Roelon nods at Gutstorm.

Talliver says, "And so it begins."

Dendum nods once.

Sirona nods at Talliver.

Randsford nods encouragingly at Talliver.

Leafiara flashes a wide grin at Talliver.

Sirona smiles.

Falvicar nods slowly.

Lithyia says, "A new beginning."

Teaberry nods.

Speaking deeply to Gutstorm, Roelon says, "Drink Well Gutstorm."

Bakarus glances at Talliver.

Talliver nods.

Opalina glances at Talliver.

Lithyia says, "A stronger beginning."

Dendum simply says, "The north is lucky to have the Half-Krolvin."

Draelor nods.

Gutstorm turns toward Roelon and renders a sharp hand salute.

Sorlu leans leisurely on his Nalfein-styled cane, a thoughtful expression upon his face.

Mayor Talliver just went down some carved ice steps.

Leafiara exclaims, "Cheers for Icemule, cheers for the north!"

Lilanna nods at Dendum.

Dendum says, "They bring good wisdom."

Dendum turns to Leafiara and cheers!

Leafiara lets out a cheer!

You nod in agreement at Dendum.

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Leafi how we git home?"

Roelon rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Speaking to Gutstorm, Falvicar says, "For a moment, I thought ye were going to get him."

Falvicar chuckles to himself.

Speaking amusedly to Gutstorm, Leafiara says, "Down the steps the way you came here."
