Tremors and Travel

[Icemule Trace, Town Center - 2300] (u4042150)

The center of the slumbering frontier town is overseen by a sturdy mule statue carved from glacial ice, which rises from the surrounding snow on a plinth of cold dark stone. The brilliance of the stars winks through the ice, casting prismatic glints of light over a scattering of townsfolk. Some halflings chatter quietly by a colorful silver-bound barrel emblazoned with a row of tiny grey penguins, while others stargaze on colorful cloaks spread out across the hard ground. Near the comfort of a smooth dark stone bench, a roaring bonfire crackles merrily, lending its warmth and illumination to the surroundings. You also see the Pelagios disk, the Kaezar disk, the Ilyien disk, a silver-shaded fluffy manul, the Trisscar disk, a massive grey wolf, the Lithyia disk, the malachite Jadedragan disk, a large raven that is flying around, a vine-carved cherrywood cart with some stuff on it, the Recyr disk, a blued steel wastebin and a blue and white pavilion.

Also here: Lord Sorlu, Adalfuns, Mikkeller, Pelagios, Kaezar, Ilyien, Trisscar who is sitting, Great Lord Tennalnen, Deddalus, Draelor, Lord Grutak, Mistress Lithyia, Lady Opalina, Jadedragan, Recyr

The ground rumbles for a long moment before settling once more.

A light flurry of snowflakes drifts down from the grey skies.

Sorlu casually glances around the area.

Tennalnen nods in greeting at Sorlu.

Speaking to Grutak, Opalina asks, "Do you mine if I join you as well?"

Grutak says, "Join me for a trip to the gate."

Sorlu nods to Tennalnen in greeting.

Lithyia nods to Sorlu in greeting.

Jadedragan attempts to hum a merry little tune.

Lithyia nods to you in greeting.

Lithyia smiles.

Straightening your back, you give a formal, low curtsy to Lithyia. In time with your greater movement, you incline your head as well in a brief nod in her direction.

Grutak says, "Moving."

Sorlu warmly says, "Good evening, Icemule."

Trisscar waves to you.

Lithyia says, "Evening."

[travel through town]

Opalina says, "Good evening Sorlu."

[Icemule Trace, Exterior - 3308] (u4130023)

The sheer wall of the glacier blocks the northward progress of the icy trailway. It diverts instead toward a vast black crevice in the glinting crystal, passing near the imflass gate in the wall of the nearby penitentiary. Moonlight sparkling off of the ice casts shards of pale radiance over the area. Steps have been carved into the glacier and ascend to a slick flat atop it.

The ground beneath you violently shakes and rumbles causing you to fall down!

Tennalnen falls to the ground! Jadedragan falls to the ground! Opalina falls to the ground! Sorlu falls to the ground! Draelor falls to the ground! Adalfuns falls to the ground! Lithyia falls to the ground! Teaberry falls to the ground! Grutak falls to the ground!

Jadedragan blinks.

Lithyia exclaims, "Uhoh!"

Opalina says, "Lady Ali."

Tennalnen chuckles.

Grutak chuckles.

Sorlu stands up.

Grutak stands up.

Opalina stands up.

Sorlu mutters under his breath.

Teaberry stands up.

Jadedragan stands up.

You stand back up.

Opalina pulls on Jadedragan, trying to get him closer.

Draelor stands up.

Lithyia stands up.

You glance down.

Adalfuns stands up.

Tennalnen struggles to stand, but fails.

Opalina pulls on Draelor, trying to get him closer.

You ponder.

Lady Teaberry just went up some carved ice steps.

Tennalnen stands up.

Opalina tries to pull Tennalnen towards her.

Tennalnen glances at some carved ice steps.

Opalina grabs a squat pale blue crystal bottle from inside her elesine sack.

Opalina turns her blue crystal bottle, opening its lid and shaking a faceted dark sapphire pill into her waiting hand.

Tennalnen nods once.

Lady Teaberry just came down some carved ice steps.

Opalina places her dark sapphire pill in her mouth, and it dissolves into a puff of cerulean smoke. A blue mist seeps from her lips as a cloud of mana coalesces around her, wrapping her in protective magic!

Tennalnen says, "They was up the steps last time."

Opalina asks, "Anyone want a bbee before I put them up?"

A massive grey wolf saunters in.

Grutak nods.

Lord Grutak's group just went up some carved ice steps.

[Glacier, Flat - ] (u4130025)

Atop some carved ice steps, a wide icy flat crowns the glacier, which is faintly aglow with rich blues and greens from reflected light. The glacier is tall enough to provide a tantalizing glimpse of the town to the south, with its short stone buildings and winding burrows. Northward, it looks over an unforgiving wilderness of icy mountains and snow-swathed plains, threaded through with glimpses of the Olbin River.

A massive grey wolf saunters in.

Opalina waves a faceted dark sapphire pill around.

Tennalnen nods once.

Trisscar just came up some carved ice steps.

Opalina offers Tennalnen a faceted dark sapphire pill.

Trisscar joins Grutak's group.

Grutak nods.

Lithyia says, "I dont know what that does."

Lithyia chuckles.

Tennalnen glances at Opalina.

Grutak asks, "Anyone see anything?"

Trisscar breathlessly says, "Ah, caught you."

Tennalnen accepts Opalina's dark sapphire pill.

Grutak adjusts his jet vultite plate, reinforcing weak spots.

You chuckle at Trisscar.

Sorlu looks over at Grutak and shakes his head.

Opalina turns her blue crystal bottle, opening its lid and shaking a faceted dark sapphire pill into her waiting hand.

A massive grey wolf dashes in.

Tennalnen squints at a faceted dark sapphire pill.

Lady Teaberry just came up some carved ice steps.

Speaking to Trisscar, you say, "The Commander runs quickly."

Lithyia says, "Wish i had my spyglass with me."

Opalina offers Lithyia a faceted dark sapphire pill.

Lithyia slides a battle-worn dark vultite buckler over her shoulder and it settles into place.

Speaking to you, Grutak says, "Long legs."

Lithyia accepts Opalina's dark sapphire pill.

Tennalnen offers Opalina a faceted dark sapphire pill.

Lithyia places her dark sapphire pill in her mouth, and it dissolves into a puff of cerulean smoke. A blue mist seeps from her lips as a cloud of mana coalesces around her, wrapping her in protective magic!

Opalina accepts Tennalnen's dark sapphire pill.

Speaking to you, Trisscar says, "That he does. I saw others arrive and didn't rejoin fast enough."

Lithyia says, "Thank you."

Sorlu gazes west with interest.

Speaking to Opalina, Tennalnen says, "Thank you, but as a warrior it would be a waste on me."

In one brisk move, Lithyia slides a battle-worn dark vultite buckler off her shoulder.

Tennalnen chuckles.

A sudden gust makes the snow dance and swirl around you.

Opalina says, "Understand."

Opalina nods.

Opalina stares off into space.

Jadedragan starts chortling.

You say, "It is nearly impossible to see anything much through the snow."

Lithyia nods to you.

Grutak asks, "Who's got good long sight?"

Trisscar mumbles, "I should get back into armor."

Lithyia nods at Trisscar.

Grutak asks, "See anything to the north?"

Speaking to Trisscar, you say, "That would be wise."

Opalina agrees with Trisscar.

Trisscar removes some mithril brigandine armor from in her grey wool cape.

Tennalnen shakes his head.

Trisscar works her way into some mithril brigandine armor.

Jadedragan prays over his vultite full plate.

Teaberry says, "Nothing of interest."

Jadedragan says, "Speaking of that."

Jadedragan chuckles.

Grutak adjusts Lithyia's supple leather armor, improving its ability to support the weight of her gear.

Teaberry says, "In any direction."

Jadedragan removes a silver-inlaid midnight black waraxe from in his axe frog.

The earth rumbles threateningly from somewhere deep below Jadedragan.

Jadedragan concentrates on his midnight black waraxe for a moment.

Trisscar put a finished bronze sword-blade in her ivory linen backpack.

Jadedragan put a silver-inlaid midnight black waraxe in his axe frog.

Lithyia glances at Jadedragan.

Trisscar removes a blued and gilded vultite longsword from in her leather sheath.

Tennalnen glances at Jadedragan.

Lithyia says, "Uh Jade."

Sorlu says, "I assume this has something to do with the eruption we saw not long ago...out in the waters to the west."

Trisscar removes a lacquered silvery orase greatshield from in her grey wool cape.

Jadedragan asks, "Did I do something?"

A light flurry of snowflakes drifts down from the grey skies.

Speaking to Sorlu, you say, "I had thought the same."

Sorlu nods to you.

Lithyia says, "Maybe dont stand there."

Trisscar nods at Sorlu.

Speaking to Jadedragan, Tennalnen says, "Rumbling beneath you."

Speaking to Sorlu, Grutak asks, "Think we should look to the west?"

Lithyia glances at Jadedragan.

Jadedragan says, "Oh that."

Jadedragan begins chuckling at Tennalnen!

You ask, "Has there been any futher movement of the lava?"

Tennalnen grins.

Trisscar says, "It feels eerily similar."

Tennalnen laughs!

Lithyia chuckles.

Speaking to Grutak, Sorlu says, "Perhaps. We might be able to see if something has changed."

Tennalnen nods understandingly at Jadedragan.

Grutak designates Sorlu as the new leader of the group.

Grutak says, "I'm not entirely sure where that was Councilor."

Trisscar adjusts her brigandine armor, reinforcing weak spots.

Lithyia reaches out and touches her supple leather armor.

Opalina says, "Near the boat docks."

Sorlu says, "I would say Councillor Opalina is even more familiar with that territory than I."

Sorlu designates Opalina as the new leader of the group.

You say, "Yes. I believe it was near the docks."

A light flurry of snowflakes drifts down from the grey skies.

You glance up.

Speaking to Opalina, Grutak asks, "You take us there then?"

The earth shivers with a series of aftershocks.

Lithyia glances down.

Draelor frowns.

Opalina says, "I can."

Opalina nods.

(Lithyia steadies herself again.)

Sorlu shifts his weight, restlessly leaning back and forth.

Draelor says, "Quite active."

Lithyia agrees with Draelor.

Opalina says, "There is a cavern there as well."

Trisscar grimly says, "MMT never fails to disappoint."

Tennalnen asks, "Safe enough for the youngest?"

Speaking to Opalina, you say, "Lead the way, councilwoman."

Teaberry joins Opalina's group.

Lithyia says, "Even if it's not... I'm so curious."

Lithyia grins at Tennalnen.

Suddenly you have the strangest feeling that you are being watched.

The feeling fades as quickly as it came.

Opalina gazes in wonder at her surroundings.

Speaking to Lithyia, Tennalnen says, "You are not the youngest any more."

Tennalnen sticks his tongue out at Lithyia, and lets out with a loud, "Thbtbtbtbt" from his lips!

Lithyia says, "That's true."

Jadedragan grins at Tennalnen.

Lithyia giggles.

You ask, "Perhaps stop by town center first?"

You say, "It seems there may be more who wish to join."

[more travel through town]

Trisscar says, "Guilty."

Jadedragan exclaims, "Puttin in them training workouts!"

Jadedragan nods at Lithyia.

Lithyia nods at Jadedragan.

Here and there a snowflake flutters down.

Lady Opalina's group just went south.

Near the comfort of a smooth dark stone bench, a roaring bonfire crackles merrily, lending its warmth and illumination to the surroundings. You also see the discordant Callayne disk, a fickle aurora spirit that is flying around, the driftwood Vyiana disk, a molted tan caracal, a gyrfalcon that is flying around, the Ilyien disk, a silver-shaded fluffy manul, a large raven that is flying around, a vine-carved cherrywood cart with some stuff on it, the Recyr disk, a blued steel wastebin and a blue and white pavilion.

Also here: Lord Sorlu, Adalfuns, Great Lord Tennalnen, Draelor, Mistress Lithyia, Jadedragan, Lord Grutak, Trisscar, Lady Teaberry, Lady Opalina, Town Councilor Vaemyr, Callayne, Vyiana, Deddalus, Mikkeller, Ilyien, Recyr

Lithyia says, "Someone motivated me."

Lithyia glances at Grutak.

Lithyia chuckles.

Trisscar says, "I mean, I haven't swung a sword in four trainings at least now. Swinging a hammer instead."

Nitos just arrived.

Nitos just went up.

Otill just arrived.

Otill just went east.

Speaking to Sorlu, you say, "Councilor Vaemyr was searching for us."

Opalina stares at a barrow entrance.

Lunok just arrived.

Lunok just went up.

[Olbin Delta, Highland Ridge - 32323] (u4576019)

The ridge overlooks an unforgiving shoreline of black sand that stretches a long way before it is devoured by the frigid waters of the ocean. Between the ridge and the shore is a steep cliff face scattered with jagged rocks and gravel, a switchback trail cutting across it to allow access to old docks stretching out into the water. A rise to the east flows gracefully down toward an expanse of highland dotted with clumps of snow and alpine wildlfowers. You also see a switchback trail.

Speaking to you, Grutak asks, "Your point?"

You hear very soft footsteps.

Jadedragan says, "You know who would be able to help us hunt out what's happening."

Jadedragan says, "Gorga."

Jadedragan says, "Lets find her."

Jadedragan nods.

Lithyia grins at Jadedragan.

You chuckle at Jadedragan.

Lithyia says, "Jade you soooooo have the hots for her."

An occasional snowflake drifts to the ground.

Opalina asks, "Shalll I head back to Town Square?"

Sorlu grins at Jadedragan.

Pushing his hand out in front of himself, his long, slender fingers splayed, Jadedragan fends off Lithyia with a shake of his head.

Sorlu chuckles to himself.

Jadedragan says, "NO clue what you mean."

Lithyia laughs!

Opalina gazes in wonder at her surroundings.

Speaking to Grutak, you ask, "Icemule still welcomes any who wish to offer their aid, does she not?"

Trisscar blinks.

You raise an eyebrow in Grutak's direction.

Draelor asks, "Jade must be happy in his status?"

Speaking to you, Grutak says, "No, she doesn't."

Jadedragan says, "She's just a very capable and attrac...attentive huntress."

Jadedragan grins at Lithyia.

Lithyia says, "Jade has a status he would be happier in."

Speaking to Grutak, you correct, "You do not. But you do not speak for all of Icemule."

[still walking all over town]

Tennalnen squints.

Lithyia quietly says, "I'm staying out of this."

Lithyia chuckles.

[Magical Burrow, Wraith Road - 2365] (u4042116)

Wrought-iron fences and a dense fog seem to be everywhere. The fog is low to the ground and swirls in a chilling caress around you, even when you stand still. The fog is probably just from the nearby glacier--at least, that is what you keep telling yourself. You also see a stout rosy-cheeked widow and a tall wrought-iron gate.

Also here: Lord Sorlu, Adalfuns, Great Lord Tennalnen, Draelor, Mistress Lithyia, Jadedragan, Lord Grutak, Trisscar, Lady Teaberry, Lady Opalina

Ellusine just arrived.

Sorlu says, "Wait."

Sorlu says, "Ellusine."

Chulee just arrived.

Opalina gently takes hold of Vaemyr's hand.

Vaemyr chuckles.

A pained expression crosses Teaberry's face.

Jadedragan waves to Vaemyr.

Tennalnen nods in greeting at Vaemyr.

Vaemyr waves.

Opalina paces back and forth.

Speaking to Sorlu, you ask, "Who?"

Trisscar softly posits, "I think something of Icemule would be lost if we close ourselves off."

Vaemyr says, "Was around the abbey and felt a quake."

Speaking to you, Sorlu says, "Ellusine, I saw her..."

Grutak says, "Back in the magical burrow."

The earth rumbles threateningly from somewhere deep below Jadedragan.

Pelagios just arrived.

Opalina asks, "Is it the abby?"

The gyrfalcon circles lazily above.

Jadedragan mutters under his breath.

The earth rumbles threateningly from somewhere deep below Jadedragan.

Opalina says, "We where here in town."

Jadedragan gestures into the air.

Jadedragan momentarily gets a faroff look in his eyes, and then returns to normal.

Pelagios just arrived.

Jadedragan says, "Ayep."

Speaking to you, Sorlu says, "The one who is hoping to run against Talliver in the upcoming election."

Speaking to Sorlu, you say, "Ah, I do not know what she looks like but I have heard the name in conversation."

The gyrfalcon circles lazily above.

Vaemyr nods at Opalina.

Jadedragan says, "She's at Banshee Lane."

Mikkeller just went west.

Ellusine just arrived.

Lithyia exclaims, "Oh THAT Ellusine!"

Here and there a snowflake flutters down.

Lithyia glances at Ellusine.

Mikkeller just arrived.

Ellusine frowns.

Mikkeller just went south.

Tennalnen points at Ellusine.

Lithyia says, "Speaking of..."

Sorlu nods at Lithyia.

Speaking to Opalina, Vaemyr says, "I just think I was able to feel it that far."

Tennalnen waves to Ellusine.

You gaze with interest at Ellusine.

Sorlu nods to Ellusine in greeting.

Straightening your back, you give a formal, low curtsy to Ellusine. In time with your greater movement, you incline your head as well in a brief nod in her direction.

Opalina says, "Checked north and out the west gate didn't see anything out of the normal."

Speaking to Ellusine, Sorlu greets, "Good evening, Ellusine."

Trisscar quietly muses, "A bunch of names I need to meet."

Lithyia leans softly against Grutak.

Jadedragan grins at Trisscar.

Lithyia smiles at Grutak.

Speaking to Ellusine, you say, "I was absent when you last made your appearance and plans known, but I have heard some of you."

Speaking to Trisscar, Jadedragan says, "It's never ending."

Astillan just arrived.

Ilyien just arrived.

Ilyien put a burnished gold kakore staff with light-hued banding in his leather knapsack.

Ilyien just went west.

Ellusine quietly says, "I hope that it is, indeed, a good evening."

Trisscar laughs!

Opalina curtsies to Ellusine.

Lithyia says, "I mean...other than the earth shaking."

Speaking to Ellusine, Grutak says, "So far, no."

Draelor says, "There is that."

Speaking to Jadedragan, Trisscar agrees, "No truer words."

Lithyia turns to face Grutak.

Sorlu says, "An active evening, to say the least. The ground has become unsteady again."

Sorlu frowns.

Chulee whistles tunelessly to herself.

Pelagios's surge of empowerment fades.

Lithyia frowns at Grutak.

You say, "Which has been happening too often."

Jadedragan coughs.

Dendum arrives, guided by an urchin, who nods to Dendum and quickly takes off.

Trisscar fidgets.

Jadedragan waves to Dendum.

Dendum nods.

Lithyia waves to Dendum.

A log settles in the roaring bonfire, sending up a spray of sparks.

Speaking to you, Opalina says, "Much more of these earthshakes and I'll start getting cracks in my house."

Dendum joins Opalina's group.

Speaking to Opalina, you say, "That would be unfortunate."

The fluffy manul twitches his ears, seemingly listening for something.

Opalina adopts an agreeable expression.

Look to the Past

Ellusine says, "I have done a bit of investigating up in the Abbey."

The fluffy manul meows.

Lithyia turns an inquisitive ear toward Ellusine.

Tennalnen turns an inquisitive ear toward Ellusine.

You say, "However, at least this time the shakes are not accompanied by spewing molten earth."

Lithyia agrees with you.

Ellusine mildly says, "Their historical records exceed our own."

Sorlu says, "For anyone wishing to stay near, join closely with Councillor Opalina."

Vaemyr glances at Ellusine.

Sorlu nods at Dendum.

A sudden gust makes the snow dance and swirl around you.

Sorlu cocks his head at Ellusine.

Ellusine says, "At least... the ones that survived the vereri."

Ellusine shivers in a way that has nothing to do with the cold.

Chulee just went south.

Tennalnen nods in agreement at Ellusine.

Vaemyr nods slowly.

Sorlu picks idly at a slender Nalfein-styled cane.

Speaking to Ellusine, you ask, "I have been intested in spending some time reading their records. Have you found anything of note?"

The fluffy manul cleans his coat carefully.

Speaking to Ellusine, Opalina asks, "They have allowed you access to their records?"

Ilyien just arrived.

Ilyien just went east.

Opalina mutters lucky.

Speaking to Ellusine, you say, "I spend a good deal of time pouring through the records in Clovertooth that were not lost in the fire."

Ilyien just arrived.

A swarm of large spiders erupts from the folds of Callayne's spidersilk cloak and forms a pattern.

Ellusine nods slightly at Opalina.

Ellusine says, "I scarcely recognize the depiction of these lands. Different names for locations, and... well, the land itself has changed."

Opalina says, "Ellusine, I bet they provide some wonderful history on our little town."

Dendum's red firewheel flower idly twists, spinning its petals like a wheel before slowing to a stop.

Speaking to Ellusine, you say, "My apologies. I am Aliashyrah Ilthaerhys. I realize that I have you at a disadvantage. Your comments the other night have made your reputation preceed you."

Sorlu raises an eyebrow in Ellusine's direction.

Opalina's cheeks flush with a soft pale rose shade, darkening her freckles even more.

Trisscar tilts her head toward Ellusine, examining her intently as the tip of one ear twitches briefly.

Speaking quietly to you, Ellusine says, "It is a pleasure."

Speaking to Ellusine, Sorlu asks, "In what manner?"

A molted tan caracal lashes her tail gently, gazing hungrily at you.

Trisscar glances at you.

Speaking to Ellusine, you ask, "Do any of the documents contain mapping?"

Speaking to Ellusine, Dendum remarks, ""Lands change even in the memory of an elf, this is why we tell our trail stories in songs that can change with them."

A long-eared caramel brown jerboa on Callayne's shoulder suddenly sits up, scanning the area with a mien of feral regality.

Tennalnen says, "Mountains shift, the pass south has only been around a few decades."

An occasional snowflake drifts to the ground.

Ellusine says, "The most notable difference is that these lands were once quite temperate."

Tennalnen gawks at Ellusine.

A small opaque spider on Deddalus crawls over to his neck.

Sorlu rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Lithyia mutters interesting.

Trisscar softly says, "Icemule with no Ice, interesting."

Vaemyr blinks.

The roaring bonfire crackles merrily.

Grutak says, "It wasn't always called Icemule."

The grim halfling marshal grins broadly as a small group of children runs through the area, laughing and shouting.

Lithyia turns an inquisitive ear toward Grutak.

Vaemyr rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Draelor ponders.

You grin slowly at Trisscar.

Grutak asks, "Have you never noticed that some things look as if they were flash frozen. As if some cataclysmic event took place?"

Ellusine nods sagely at Grutak.

Jadedragan nods at Grutak.

Lithyia nods at Grutak.

Trisscar smiles at you.

The grim halfling marshal scurries north.

Ellusine says, "You have the right of it."

Opalina nods at Grutak.

Opalina says, "Expecially on the mountain."

Lithyia whispers something to Grutak.

Lithyia smiles at Grutak.

Speaking to Grutak, Jadedragan says, "Probably something involving magic gone awry. That seems to be the way of the world."

Draelor agrees with Jadedragan.

Opalina's shiver is barely noticeable, as if the cold barely bothers her.

Grutak says, "Not entirely..."

Grutak glances at Jadedragan.

Speaking to Ellusine, Sorlu asks, "Did your research find a cause for this change?"

Ellusine looks over at Sorlu and shakes her head.

A light flurry of snowflakes drifts down from the grey skies.

Grutak says, "This was more of a natural event."

Grutak says, "A thing that was supressed and is now resurging."

Lithyia ponders.

Trisscar blushes a nice shade of light pink.

Sorlu looks thoughtfully at Grutak.

Speaking to Sorlu, Grutak says, "Thurfel once eluded to something of that nature at a dinner."

Ellusine tilts her head inquisitively.

A sudden gust makes the snow dance and swirl around you.

Tennalnen blinks at Grutak.

Callayne loses her focused look.

Teaberry asks, "How do you know that?"

Tennalnen asks, "You met Thurfel?"

Speaking to Grutak, Sorlu says, "I never spoke with Thurfel myself."

Teaberry peers quizzically at Grutak.

Sorlu nods slowly at Grutak.

Opalina says, "I met Thurfel."

Lithyia raises an eyebrow in Opalina's direction.

Speaking to Teaberry, Grutak says, "I know alot, I just don't yap about it."

Lithyia begins chuckling at Grutak!

Callayne just went east.

Sorlu grins at Grutak.

Speaking to Grutak, Jadedragan says, "Either the cataclysm was caused by magic, or the solution that is now failing is magic. Either way, those playing with it tend to cause havoc for the rest of us."

The raven circles lazily above.

Speaking to Grutak, Teaberry says, "Thurfel has been gone for many years before you arrived."

Lithyia says, "Well please yap to me about it one day."

Lithyia smiles at Grutak.

Trisscar grins at you.

Speaking to Teaberry, Grutak says, "No."

Astillan just went south.

Speaking to Lithyia, Jadedragan asks, "Still waters run deepest or such?"

Teaberry says, "Yes."

Jadedragan grins at Lithyia.

Opalina says, "I have scars."

Speaking to Teaberry, Grutak says, "I have been around alot longer than any of you give me credit for."

Lithyia grins at Jadedragan.

Grutak says, "And I won't argue that point."

Grutak says, "I simply know what I know."

Grutak shrugs.

Callayne just arrived.

Teaberry says, "No point in arguing something that isn't true."

Lithyia gazes up into the heavens.

Speaking to Teaberry, Grutak says, "Very well. Not another word from me."

Vaemyr asks, "Forgive my ignorance, but are you saying the event that changed the weather to be much colder here is happening again?"

Ellusine plainly says, "The short of it is that the southern glacier and the cold engulfing this region seem to have occurred around the same time."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Ellusine says, "No. That's but an intellectual diversion."

Lithyia rests a gentle hand on Grutak's arm.

Vaemyr nods understandingly at Ellusine.

Trisscar muses, "Is there anything beneath the glacier?"

Deddalus slowly fades into view with a gasp of breath and a slightly disoriented look.

Speaking to Trisscar, you ask, "Other than the remains of what used to be a town?"

Sorlu says, "Ruins."

Sorlu nods at Trisscar.

Ellusine says, "...however, in these histories, talk of volcanic activity in the seas west of here is commonplace."

Speaking to Trisscar, you say, "It is possible to go down there and see some."

Trisscar says, "Ah."

Trisscar nods to you.

Sorlu raises an eyebrow in Ellusine's direction.

Vaemyr nods at Ellusine.

You gaze with interest at Ellusine.

Opalina says, "Volcano's and snow don't really mix well."

Kaezar just went east.

Speaking to Ellusine, Sorlu says, "So they were once more common, but seemed to have mostly gone dormant....until now."

Opalina frowns.

Lithyia sarcastically says, "Just our luck."

Tennalnen says, "Thurfels Island is still down there, past an underground beach if I recall. Been a few years since I ventured down the well."

Vaemyr rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Speaking to Opalina, Jadedragan says, "Those two giants seemed to be mixing if they'd get out of their way."

You say, "Then it should be no surprise that there is activity once more. The real question is, how powerful and cataclismic might these new quakes and activity be."

Trisscar asks, "Is it possible we have been in a time of.. imbalance? That the snow and mountains created the temperate past?"

Opalina giggles at Jadedragan.

Ellusine says, "Early sisters of the Abbey spoke of a fiery glow engulfing the western seas several hundred years ago, long before this region was settled."

Vaemyr nods at Ellusine.

Dendum works his fingers under his warg leather hood and scratches his head.

A sudden gust makes the snow dance and swirl around you.

Sorlu grins at you.

Lithyia shivers.

You give the peak of the hood on your robe a small tug, which helps to maintain its bowed shape around your face.

Opalina asks, "Did they mention that it was accessable or if anyone went there and returned with news?"

Speaking to Ellusine, Dendum remarks, ""Err...this is very interesting with the reading and the talking and the abbey and....whatever....but do not think vision said we had to Unify for history lesson...is something causing it to happen again?"

Jadedragan clasps his hands together near the heat of the roaring bonfire and rubs them together vigorously.

You chuckle at Dendum.

Sorlu begins chuckling at Dendum!

Lithyia grins at Dendum.

Speaking to Dendum, you say, "Sometimes the lessons of history are critical to the present."

The fluffy manul meows.

Sorlu smiles at you.

You pet the fluffy manul, which nuzzles your hand softly.

Trisscar turns to face Dendum.

Sorlu winks at a silver-shaded fluffy manul.

Delicate snowflakes cling to your eyelashes.

Jadedragan nods at Opalina.

Teaberry nods at Opalina.

You say, "It is rather cold."

Lithyia agrees with you.

Trisscar nods to you.

Speaking to Ellusine, you ask, "Perhaps we can discuss more inside?"

Vaemyr nods to you.

Lithyia smiles at Ellusine.

Speaking to Dendum, Ellusine says, "I'm not clear on such matters."

Ellusine nods to you.

Ellusine asks, "That would be welcome. Where?"

Speaking to Ellusine, Opalina asks, "Would you be willing to join with us for a drink at the tavern?"

A light snow drifts silently to the ground.

Opalina leans down and pulls the hand brake free of the wheels. The cherrywood cart rolls toward her and then stops, as if waiting.

Teaberry asks, "The Honeybeer Inn?"

Ellusine looks thoughtfully at Opalina.

Opalina says, "If you would like to join me I'll head to the inn."

Jadedragan sighs.

Ellusine softly says, "I am not much of an imbiber, but I suppose that will do."

Sorlu says, "I wonder if the giant clans might know more about these times, and the change. Their peoples have been in this region for some time."

Speaking to Ellusine, you say, "It is at least warm."

The gyrfalcon circles lazily above.

Tennalnen clasps his hands together near the heat of the roaring bonfire and rubs them together vigorously.

Opalina says, "If anyone would like to continue the discussion we are moving."

Opalina says, "To the honeybeer inn south of town."

[travel through town]

Adalfuns rummages around in his pockets.

A vine-carved cherrywood cart comes rolling slowly into the room and stops.

Opalina leans down and pushes on the hand brake until it clicks. A good shove with her foot locks the cart into place.

Adalfuns frowns.

Lithyia leans against an oak sideboard.

Opalina says, "And drinks are on the cart."

Lifting up his silver stein, Jadedragan takes a measured drink of the rum inside.

Sorlu nods appreciatively at Opalina.

Tennalnen removes a rectangular ebon-stained basket woven from fel twigs from his belt.

Placing the basket on the ground, Tennalnen gives it a little prod and then stands back. Over the course of several minutes, the basket transforms into a cloth-covered table laid with a spread of food. Once done, he places the basket under the table.

Lithyia whispers something to Grutak.

Trisscar giggles at you.

Lithyia smiles at Grutak.

Tennalnen says, "Few more free options."

Opalina exclaims, "And a table!"

Opalina laughs softly, trying to hide her amusement.

Jadedragan carefully pours a little bit of dark red liquid from his red ale into the silver stein.

You smirk at Trisscar.

Glaoveln Volcano

Ellusine thoughtfully says, "At any rate."

Lithyia offers Grutak a warm mug of milky coffee.

Jadedragan carefully pours a little bit of dark red liquid from his red ale into the silver stein.

Ellusine paces back and forth.

Sorlu cocks his head at Ellusine.

Jadedragan turns an inquisitive ear toward Ellusine.

Trisscar flushes slightly, some color reaching her cheeks.

Trisscar slings a lacquered silvery orase greatshield over her shoulder.

Grutak declines Lithyia's offer.

Trisscar put a blued and gilded vultite longsword in her leather sheath.

Lithyia glances at a warm mug of milky coffee in her hand.

Lithyia takes a drink from her milky coffee.

Lithyia nods at Grutak.

Tennalnen turns an inquisitive ear toward Ellusine.

Opalina takes a drink from her frothy hot cocoa.

Draelor inhales deeply upon his pipe, puckering his lips and sending out two rings of smoke before him briefly.

Trisscar pours herself a whipped cream-topped cinnamon coffee.

Ellusine says, "I've dabbled in history before."

Adalfuns pours himself a shot of maple vodka.

Dendum inhales deeply upon his pipe, puckering his lips and sending out a small stream of smoke before him briefly.

Opalina giggles to herself.

Trisscar takes a drink from her cinnamon coffee.

Ellusine says, "My understanding is that Glaoveln has not erupted in living memory."

Vaemyr nods.

Sorlu nods at Ellusine.

Tennalnen rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Opalina asks, "'is that the name of the volcano to the west?"

Vaemyr says, "West of there though, several hundred years ago there were many violent eruptions I think."

Speaking to Ellusine, Tennalnen asks, "Does that include in elven terms of living memory?"

Ellusine looks over at Tennalnen and shakes her head.

Speaking to Opalina, Sorlu says, "That is the homeland of the krolvin. An island in the seas to the west."

Tennalnen says, "Cause they seem to live forever."

You grin at Tennalnen.

Opalina exclaims, "Ohh!"

Lithyia begins chuckling at Tennalnen!

Speaking to Tennalnen, you say, "Not quite forever, but a very long time."

Tennalnen nods in agreement to you.

Speaking to Tennalnen, Ellusine says, "It does appear that there was at least one eruption there in the early 4800s."

Lithyia whispers something to Grutak.

Tennalnen nods understandingly at Ellusine.

Lithyia turns an inquisitive ear toward Ellusine.

Ellusine says, "At least, that corresponds with the recollections of the sisters."

Dendum blinks.

Vaemyr nods at Ellusine.

Opalina sits down.

Jadedragan says, "Would that it took that whole blighted island with it when the volcano decides to stir again."

Opalina takes a drink from her frothy hot cocoa.

Sorlu nods in agreement at Jadedragan.

Tennalnen nods in agreement at Jadedragan.

Draelor says, "Would certainly solve some problems."

Speaking to Jadedragan, you say, "An eruption of that size would also likely affect us."

Ellusine says, "These lands were blanketed in ash for weeks after the last eruption."

Dendum asks, "Glaoveln has volcano on it?"

Tennalnen says, "I will take some ash, as long as its dead krolvin ashes."

A collection of tentacles burrows into your flesh from your sanguine staff. You shudder as your sanguine staff draws upon your blood.

Jadedragan agrees with Tennalnen.

Speaking to you, Trisscar agrees, "That is the biggest concern on my mind. And maybe it getting too warm for my furs."

Adalfuns slings a dark mithglin greatshield inset with a silver star over his shoulder.

Trisscar softly says, "I kid, but still."

Speaking quietly to Dendum, Ellusine says, "The island itself is volcanic in origin."

Speaking to Ellusine, you say, "Did the histories speak to how the oceans responded? A movement so great I would think would cause a rather catostrophic surge in the seas."

Vaemyr nods at Ellusine.

Ellusine nods to you.

Dendum incredulously asks, "Wait...wait...Krolvin watched one home get blown up by Volcano jumped in boat and found ANOTHER home with volcano on it?"

Speaking to Dendum, Vaemyr says, "Yes."

Speaking playfully to Dendum, you say, "No one ever accused them of being wise."

Dendum blinks.

Sorlu grins.

Dendum closes his eyes for a moment.

Speaking to Dendum, Tennalnen asks, "You expect intellegence from Krolvin?"

Speaking to Dendum, Vaemyr says, "Technically they found the second home with a volcano before the first blew up."

Speaking to Tennalnen, Dendum says, ""The Krolvin are not stupid, they match the humans in the seas."

Speaking to you, Ellusine says, "No, though it was probably not gently."

You nod slowly at Ellusine.

Tennalnen nods understandingly.

Ellusine shifts her weight.

Dendum says, "Perhaps question should be asked why they would seek out another one, there are stories...of Krolvin...and their last home..."

Dendum shrugs.

A Question of Morals

Ellusine pensively says, "I... wonder if they know."

Speaking to Ellusine, you say, "You seem to have a rather comprehensive grasp on many things relating to history and documentation. Has there been any attempt to document sea levels? I would be curious to see if there has been any shift recently."

Jadedragan says, "They wouldn't share even if they did."

Jadedragan nods at Ellusine.

Speaking warmly to you, Trisscar says, "Good point."

Ellusine looks thoughtfully at you.

Speaking to you, Ellusine says, "A sage thought."

Ellusine says, "I raised the issue with Mayor Dabbings, but I know his family's history with the krolvin. I did not expect sympathy for their plight."

Speaking to Sorlu, you tease, "Not everyone finds my fascination with books a waste."

Speaking to Dendum, Vaemyr says, "It's possible the people of Krint would know more."

You smirk at Sorlu.

Ellusine pours herself a warm mug of herbaceous tea.

Lilanna just arrived.

Ellusine takes a drink from her herbaceous tea.

Lilanna put a headless bunny-crested pink rolaren shield in her leather sword bandolier.

Vaemyr takes a deep breath, blinking a couple of times before resuming a calm expression.

Lilanna says, "Evnins."

Lithyia smiles at Lilanna.

Straightening your back, you give a formal, low curtsy to Lilanna. In time with your greater movement, you incline your head as well in a brief nod in her direction.

Sorlu says, "Perhaps we should not fear thse rumblins then, but instead find a way to encourage them. Were Glaoveln to destroy itself, the removal of he krol threat would be a great boon to us, and all the world...even if we have to deal with a few side effects afterwards."

Tennalnen nods in greeting at Lilanna.

Vaemyr ponders.

Speaking quietly to Sorlu, Ellusine says, "I had rather the opposite thought, I fear. And I suspect it will be an unpopular one."

You ponder the meaning of Sorlu's existence.

Speaking to Vaemyr, Jadedragan says, "Kraet would probably be a better start. There is at least some semblance of civility there. Even if they don't have the records directly, they may know where."

Speaking to Sorlu, Dendum reminds, ""The Krolvin were not destroyed last time...but migrated."

Ellusine drains the rest of her tea.

Vaemyr nods at Jadedragan.

Sorlu cocks his head at Ellusine.

Trisscar tilts her head toward Ellusine, examining her intently as the tip of one ear twitches briefly.

Speaking to Ellusine, Sorlu says, "Please, go on."

Speaking to Sorlu, Dendum says, ""well..some migrated."

Lithyia takes a drink from her milky coffee.

Ellusine says, "I believe it is morally incumbent upon us to warn them."

Jadedragan squints at Ellusine.

Sorlu blinks.

Draelor frowns.

Jadedragan asks, "How is that morally incumbent to do such a thing?"

Ellusine hesitantly says, "Given the strength of these tremors, it is possible that this volcano represents extinction for the krolvin people."

Speaking to Ellusine, you ask, "Surely they can feel the ground moving just as well as us. Would it not be rational to believe that they can understand the threat without us stepping in?"

Speaking to Ellusine, Dendum reminds, ""They do have other islands."

Vaemyr glances at Ellusine.

Opalina adopts an agreeable expression.

Ellusine glumly says, "I... suspected that my sentiment might be greeted in such a fashion."

Teaberry says, "They have ships."

Lilanna nods at Lithyia.

Speaking to Ellusine, Jadedragan says, "This won't cause that. But maybe it will damage them enough that the stop slaving because they lack the power to continue."

Trisscar hesitantly agrees, "Even if a people are our enemies, to lose a set of experiences all together would be a monumental loss."

Opalina says, "I would hate to see the destruction of an entire race."

Ellusine reaches out and touches an ebon faewood table.

Opalina sighs.

Speaking to Ellusine, Tennalnen says, "You are not going to find many who would wish to save the Krolvin."

Ellusine leans forward.

Lithyia nods at Tennalnen.

Opalina says, "Even if I don't trust or even like many Krolvins."

Tennalnen glances at Ellusine.

Speaking to Tennalnen, you say, "Or at least who would risk life and limb to do so."

Lilanna nods at Opalina.

Opalina says, "I would hate for them all to die.."

Trisscar softly continues, "I would help, at least to warn them."

Ellusine cautiously asks, "...what if they were to join this new nation that Mayor Dabbings seeks to found?"

Opalina says, "I mean the children are still innocent."

Speaking to Opalina, Jadedragan asks, "The same race that nearly wiped out the reivers? That has destroyed countless lives for their greed and plunder?"

Speaking to you, Tennalnen says, "I certainly wouldn't risk..."

Tennalnen glances at Ellusine.

Tennalnen cringes.

Speaking to Ellusine, Grutak says, "I would personally kill them."

Opalina sticks her tongue out at her silver-edged tooth.

You say, "There is an agrument to be made for the fact that they have survived this long without the need for others to step in and warn them of dangers."

Tennalnen glances between Sorlu and Grutak.

Teaberry nods to you.

Vaemyr asks, "And do you think these tremors reach all the way to Glaoven, that it is the source? or would it perhaps be the isles a bit closer to here?"

Speaking to Ellusine, Jadedragan says, "I think you'd have to eliminate an existing group of refugees who are here because of the krolvin's actions."

Grutak says, "And I would kill anyone who invited them here."

You say, "Again, moving earth is not exactly a subtle thing, nor is molten earth."

Lithyia nods at Grutak.

Lilanna says, "Would lettin another people die because we dont like their ways, nae make us better... but hypocrits."

A cloud of dense silvery fog suddenly appears. The fog quickly dissipates to reveal Traiva.

Speaking to Ellusine, Dendum says, ""The Krolvin are a mighty sea power and the only one able to match the humans on the ocean in the west.....but do not think any other part of the northern nations will abide the slave keeping ways of the Krolvin for long."

Speaking to Ellusine, Grutak asks, "Do I make myself clear?"

Opalina says, "They scalped Falvicar and took my tooth but I'd still be willing to warn them so they could save their children."

Speaking to Ellusine, Sorlu says, "I am a bit surprised, I must say. I do not know that the krol have the ability to be thankful for this warning though...being the bestial menace they are."

Opalina sighs.

Speaking to Jadedragan, Trisscar asks, "I have much to learn about history, but there have been many a band of roving bandits. If that is all you know of a people, it would be easy to say similar of us. Does that justify extinction?"

Traiva kisses Lithyia tenderly, first on one cheek, then the other.

Speaking to Vaemyr, Ellusine says, "The location of Glaoveln is, at best, unreliable on maps. Some cartographers place it near to Wehnimer's Landing, while others would have it due west of here."

Teaberry says, "The krolvin are everywhere in the lands. The Landing. River's Rest. The seas."

Sorlu glances at Grutak.

Teaberry says, "They will not be wiped out if their home island dies."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Ellusine says, "The trouble with being unable to approach the island by sea without immediate interference."

Lithyia smiles at Traiva.

Speaking to Ellusine, Vaemyr says, "I mean... some have been there, when Praxopius invaded and adventurers went with him."

Speaking to Ellusine, Dendum remarks, ""To bring in the Krolvin would be to lose the Half-Krolvin."

Teaberry nods at Vaemyr.

Speaking to Trisscar, Jadedragan says, "Bandits are evil, but they are merely byproducts of societies. For krolvins, that act IS their society. There's nothing worth saving there."

Speaking to Ellusine, Tennalnen says, "I agree that maybe a warning, some letter or word passed to the Krolvin to give them notice, but I doubt very much any city or town in the region would welcome them."

Trisscar cocks her head at Jadedragan.

Lithyia says, "Certainly not welcome here...."

Opalina asks, "Can't we just throw bottles into the sea with notes?"

Speaking to Dendum, Ellusine says, "Perhaps, though... this could be an opportunity for the krolvin to change."

Dendum sighs.

Grutak laughs at Ellusine!

Teaberry looks over at Ellusine and shakes her head.

Opalina says, "They plunder the bottles get the notes."

Trisscar cautiously asserts, "Maybe, but that just feels like I don't know a people if that is everything."

Speaking to Ellusine, Dendum says, ""The landing has relations with the Krolvin."

Teaberry says, "It seems unlikely."

Speaking to Tennalnen, you tease, "We could put it on a few merchant ships and wait for them to be invaded by the pirates and hope they get the message."

Lithyia grins at you.

Jadedragan looks over at Ellusine and shakes his head.

Tennalnen grins at you.

Sorlu looks thoughtfully at Ellusine.

Jadedragan says, "They don't change."

Speaking to Ellusine, Sorlu asks, "Do you believe them to be capable of change?"

Speaking to Dendum, Draelor says, "Sure, send the Krolvin that way then."

Speaking to Jadedragan, Opalina says, "Maybe they have not had motivation to change."

Speaking to Ellusine, Lilanna says, "I like yer thinkin, but i fear that's a fools hope."

Tennalnen says, "I would be willing to carry a message, although I fully expect it to be discarded along with my corpse after I approach them."

Ellusine asks, "The Undead War precipitated a vast change in Faendryl society. Could not a cataclysm be such a catalyst for the krolvin?"

(Teaberry mutters to herself, "I don't think they're willing to change, put it that way.")

Speaking to Tennalnen, Sorlu says, "Do not fear death. They are much more likely to enslave you instead."

Sorlu smirks.

Tennalnen shudders.

Speaking to Sorlu, Ellusine says, "I am unsure. If I thought them incapable of it, I would say that it is best to let them die as a people."

Trisscar frowns at Sorlu.

Lithyia snickers at Sorlu.

Speaking to Ellusine, Grutak asks, "Do you want me to be clearer?"

Speaking to Opalina, Jadedragan says, "Any time I have ever heard of attempting reason with them, or showing mercy, has always had a return of destruction."

Speaking to Ellusine, Dendum says, ""Hrmph, you use example that change is not always for the better."

Speaking to Ellusine, Vaemyr says, "If one cataclysm wasn't enough to change them, I'm not sure a second would."

Sorlu looks thoughtfully at Ellusine.

Sorlu nods slowly.

Sorlu rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Speaking to Grutak, Ellusine says, "Your opinion does not hold much weight with me, clear or otherwise."

Trisscar grimly says, "Enslavement is much worse."

Lithyia scoffs at Ellusine.

Speaking to Ellusine, Grutak says, "Glad to know. I'll keep it in the front of my mind."

Grutak drags the toe of one of his fox skin boots along the floor to create an imaginary line.

Lithyia asks, "Does anyones opinion hold weight with you?"

Speaking to Grutak, Ellusine says, "You have been hostile to me from the moment I set foot in Town Center."

Speaking to Sorlu, Tennalnen says, "This is true. Although I hope I could take my own life quickly and pray Lorminstra returns me to the altar in Landing."

Lithyia glances at Ellusine.

Speaking to Ellusine, Teaberry says, "The change that the Undead War wrought in the Fanedryl was an ability to summon demons. And that was followed by exile from the Elven Houses."

Tennalnen's jaw drops.

Adalfuns chuckles to himself.

Adalfuns takes a drink from his maple vodka.

Jadedragan smirks at Tennalnen.

Tennalnen glances at Sorlu.

Speaking quietly to Lithyia, Traiva whispers aloud, "But Grutak is hostile to nearly everyone, for the most part..."

Lithyia sighs.

Speaking to Ellusine, Teaberry says, "Exile changed the dark elves a lot, but it was not a willing exile."

Speaking to Grutak, Ellusine says, "It seems to me that you enjoy hostility. I do not, and will not rise to the bait."

Jadedragan smiles at Trisscar.

Lithyia looks over at Traiva and shakes her head.

Sorlu nods at Tennalnen.

Trisscar smiles at Jadedragan.

Speaking to Ellusine, Grutak says, "Hostility is a tool used to draw out the true nature of those it is put upon. Your choice is to ally yourself with rapists murders and thieves."

Speaking to Ellusine, Grutak asks, "You know what happens to the women that are captured by the Krolvin?"

Speaking to Grutak, Jadedragan says, "Don't forget the enslaving of entire lineages."

Grutak asks, "Or the children they capture?"

Lithyia says, "The krol are slavers...I would not extend a hand to them."

Lithyia nods at Tennalnen.

Speaking to Tennalnen, Trisscar says, "I would go as well, but if they attempted enslavement, I would fight and die before being taken again. They deserve a chance though."

Speaking to Ellusine, Dendum says, ""Regardless the Krolvin are not fools when it comes to volcanos or the ocean and may already know about what you seek....if you wish to send them word though there is no better path than the landing they are in....pact with the Czag. Do not hold out hope the Krolvin will change their ways though, the last destruction of their homeland did not cause this to happen."

Vaemyr nods at Dendum.

Teaberry says, "I have to agree."

Lithyia asks, "I mean if you wish to send them word, then perhaps you should go yourself?"

Lithyia glances at Ellusine.

Sorlu nods at Dendum.

Ellusine stills herself with a long, slow breath.

Lithyia asks, "Is that a risk you'd be willing to take?"

Lithyia raises an eyebrow in Ellusine's direction.

A low chirping sound comes from within an iridescent quartz cricket box.

Lithyia says, "I certainly would not."

Speaking to Lithyia, Ellusine says, "I would."

Lithyia says, "I know what they would do to me."

Jadedragan asks, "I believe, as a point of course, that their act after the original destruction was cutting a swath through the reiver empire and decimating that raise to be treated as no more than animals, correct?"

Jadedragan glances at Dendum.

Dendum nods at Jadedragan.

Vaemyr sighs.

Speaking faintly to Jadedragan, Ellusine says, "You have the right of it."

Draelor says, "That is who they are."

Jadedragan glances at Ellusine.

Jadedragan asks, "Then why, pray tell, would THIS time be different?"

Dendum slowly empties his lungs.

Jadedragan asks, "Would they not just displace the Free North?"

Ellusine says, "And that is a very real concern. Small raiding parties and enclaves are settled here in Elanith."

Dendum says, "However..."

Ellusine says, "Were they displaced from their homeland, and if they survived in significant numbers..."

Lithyia nods at Traiva.

Speaking to Jadedragan, Dendum says, ""Perhaps in gratitude for information they will go south instead of north."

Teaberry says, "I don't know why you're so eager to save the slavers but not their slaves? The slaves, certainly, deserve more help than slave owners."

Jadedragan coughs.

Jadedragan begins chuckling at Dendum!

Lithyia grins at Dendum.

Traiva gives a sidelong glance at Dendum.

Speaking to Ellusine, Vaemyr asks, "I'll not tell you what you can or cannot do, but lets say for an example, they believe you. And now there is now a very large warlike group of Krolvin that need to resettle a new area. Where do you think they are going to go?"

Lithyia says, "Tell em Sablo welcomes them."

Sorlu grins at Grutak.

Ellusine says, "I little like the thought of a mass invasion out of Glaoveln."

Sorlu nods in agreement at Ellusine.

Speaking to Teaberry, Ellusine says, "You have the right of it."

Speaking to Teaberry, Trisscar says, "Hard to save slaves that die in a fiery eruption. I doubt anyone wanting to warn them is ignoring the slaves."

Jadedragan says, "Then leave them to their devices. They can beg for mercy to us directly, it does not ever need to be offered."

What About the Innocent?

Ellusine says, "If the krolvin perish in a pyroclasm, so too will their captives."

Teaberry says, "I wouldn't mind freeing their slaves, but the krolvin can explode with their island."

Dendum says, "The Krolvin are perhaps the most spread out people known....even more so than Wendwillows."

Vaemyr nods at Dendum.

Speaking to Ellusine, Jadedragan asks, "You think they would have an ounce of thought to saving their slaves?"

Opalina bites her lip.

Sorlu says, "A good point is brought up. It is known the krolvin keep many slaves....if Gloaveln meets its end, so too will those victimized by its slavery."

Sorlu frowns.

Sorlu rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Speaking to Jadedragan, Ellusine says, "I do not, unless it were a condition of their own survival."

Speaking to Jadedragan, Trisscar says, "People who believe they own others often treat them as property. Given the chance to keep them, they will."

Lithyia takes a drink from her milky coffee.

Speaking to Dendum, Ellusine says, "The enclaves of krolvin outside of Glaoveln are mostly raiders and corsairs who have put down roots."

Speaking to Sorlu, Vaemyr says, "I mean if you wish to attack Glaoveln to free the slaves there, you'd find no end to allies, but that seems like a difficult task."

Trisscar softly says, "Meaning, if they have enough time to escape and bring them, I doubt they will leave them. But if it is in a panic that they leave..."

Speaking to Ellusine, Dendum remarks, ""The enclaves of krolvin inside Glaoveln are also mostly raiders."

Speaking to Ellusine, Jadedragan says, "I suspect that even if all past sins were to be forgiven in exchange for bringing with them all slaves, freeing them, and never engaging in slavery again...we'd be having this conversation a generation after they came to land en masse."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Sorlu says, "Not an attack...I do not know if we'd even have the numbers for that."

Dendum starts chortling.

Speaking to Dendum, Ellusine says, "That is unlikely."

Teaberry says, "I doubt if they would agree to free their slaves as a condition of their survival, and if they did, they would simply recapture their slaves. As far as their culture is concerned, those who aren't krolvin are worthy of nothing but slavery and death."

Draelor nods.

Ellusine says, "A society cannot subsist on reaving and killing."

Jadedragan points at Teaberry.

Jadedragan says, "Teaberry has it."

Vaemyr glances at Ellusine.

Speaking to Ellusine, Dendum says, ""Perhaps you should travel and deliver this word."

Speaking to Ellusine, Vaemyr says, "They have for hundreds of years."

Speaking to Ellusine, Dendum says, ""Have seen them, they pick leaders based on power."

Ellusine says, "There are undoubtedly krolvin children there. Schools. Shopkeepers."

Speaking to Ellusine, Jadedragan says, "They seem to thrive regardless of how much reaving and killing they do."

Speaking to Ellusine, Dendum says, ""The stab each other for position."

Lithyia says, "You want to warn em, then you go warn em yourself."

Lithyia nods at Ellusine.

Teaberry says, "No. They do not have schools. One caste is educated--their priests."

Speaking to Ellusine, Dendum says, ""The greatest killer of Korlvin are other Krolvin."

Vaemyr nods at Dendum.

Ellusine mildly says, "My understanding is that the last election here involved an arson and necromancy."

Speaking to Ellusine, you say, "You are likely correct that there is a culture there. However, the voices and concerns being raised are also correct. Sending word through contacts in the landing may be an option."

Sorlu nods at Ellusine.

Sorlu says, "Indeed. We nearly lost Clovertooth Hall."

Trisscar nods to you.

Lithyia says, "I hear a man named Samfelt is really good at infiltrating things when needed...."

Lithyia snickers.

Speaking to Sorlu, Ellusine asks, "What must people say of *our* systems of governance?"

Speaking to Sorlu, you say, "And did lose a great deal of history and records."

Speaking to Ellusine, Jadedragan says, "That's individuals, or even small groups, Not every member of the entire North."

Lithyia says, "Well we dont hold slaves here in Icemule...."

Lithyia glances at Ellusine.

Dendum asks, "How would one bring into the circle of the new Tribe of the Free North this tribe called Krolvin that sails the seas with slaves at the oars?"

Speaking to Jadedragan, Ellusine says, "Precisely."

Sorlu frowns.

Sorlu nods slowly.

Trisscar nods at Ellusine.

Speaking to Dendum, Ellusine says, "Put simply, slavery is incompatible with our values."

Sorlu leans leisurely on his Nalfein-styled cane, a thoughtful expression upon his face.

Tennalnen says, "Good evening all."

Sweeping his arm outward, Tennalnen bows low in a grand fashion.

Speaking to Ellusine, Sorlu says, "I do agree with that..."

Tennalnen waves to Lithyia.

Lithyia waves to Tennalnen.

Opalina smiles at Tennalnen.

Speaking to Tennalnen, Opalina says, "Have a good evening."

Sorlu bows to Tennalnen.

Great Lord Tennalnen just went west.

Speaking to Ellusine, Jadedragan says, "The difference is the small group of krolvin who may be worth saving are on Kraet, as a small group. It's an inversion of my example in their society."

Sorlu smiles at you.

Lithyia takes a drink from her milky coffee.

Jadedragan looks over at Ellusine and shakes his head.

Jadedragan says, "I imagine that this is an endeavor for a small group to just make happen if you desire it so badly."

Ellusine quickly says, "I know that I am a relative newcomer in your collective eyes. Perhaps this was a poor choice of venue to air my sentiments."

Jadedragan says, "I can't see this being anything official, nor would the majority ever support it as such."

Speaking to Ellusine, Vaemyr says, "Not long ago, the people in the landing had many run-ins with the Czag named Tyrrax. He honestly, was one of the most reasonable Krolvin I've met in my long life. He was learned, spoke well, understood diplomacy. And even he would say what you look for is impossible."

Speaking to Ellusine, you say, "I, for one, am always open to new thoughts and suggestions."

Vaemyr says, "They would see the mere invitation as weakness, take it, and attack you."

Teaberry nods at Vaemyr.

Speaking to Ellusine, Trisscar assures, "Your thoughts are not without similar minds, even if a minority."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Opalina says, "And yet he was reasonable."

Speaking to Ellusine, you say, "But you knew there would be some resistance to what you suggest and in fact, your thoughts are only hypothetical in nature."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Ellusine says, "...perhaps."

Lilanna exclaims, "I feel there's a lot pf problems in the summary - warning you're in danger, ya need to leave, oh but ya can't come here!"

Speaking to Vaemyr, Opalina says, "If there's one.. there's gotta be more."

Teaberry says, "I wouldn't put our people at risk to save those who would victimize us and others later."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Dendum says, ""The problem is not the Czag that will listen...it is the one under him or her looking for a reason to KILL the Czag and become the Czag."

Opalina picks idly at a sylvan scalp coin bag clasped by a chipped front tooth.

Sorlu glances between Opalina and Vaemyr.

Draelor inhales deeply upon his pipe, puckering his lips and sending out two rings of smoke before him briefly.

Dendum says, "This is the way of Krolvin."

Speaking to Ellusine, you say, "They would require testing that many would resist. But there may be a path to follow that would allow a freeing of the conscience without inviting the enemy into our homes."

Speaking to Opalina, Vaemyr says, "He was so reasonable, that he has come back, to wage war on our neighbors when we asked that he not. Even the most reasonable of Krolvin, is still a Krolvin."

Vaemyr nods at Dendum.

Dendum sagely offers, ""However the Krolvin are the only great deterence on the waters against the humans....if that should go away it can be expected the Sun Throne will be able to move even faster."

Speaking to Dendum, Sorlu says, "Another good point."

Sorlu nods at Dendum.

Sorlu says, "Even if the krolvin aren't our friends...they do provide a buffer between us and the Sun Throne."

Sorlu rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Lithyia takes a drink from her milky coffee.

Lithyia folds her hands.

Ellusine nods at Dendum.

Speaking to Sorlu, Vaemyr says, "There could be other... buffers perhaps that don't involve raiders and slavers."

Vaemyr shrugs.

Speaking to Sorlu, Jadedragan says, "There are other paths to maintain that buffer."

Teaberry nods enthusiastically at Vaemyr!

Speaking to Vaemyr, Dendum says, ""There could be...but there is not."

You quietly whisper to Ellusine, "You have many compelling ideas, even if i do not agree with all of them. But if you wish to seek the mayor seat, then you will need to be able to withstand the outspoken opposition of the people of Icemule from time to time without backing down too easily. It is the way of those who live here to speak loudly and passionately. To lead such a group, you should not apologize for your opinions, even if they are not popular."

(Trisscar retreats to a corner.)

Speaking to Jadedragan, Sorlu asks, "What do you think?"

Ellusine thoughtfully says, "You've all given me a great deal to think about. I will make offerings to the Lady of Wisdom and... think further on this matter."

Traiva kisses Lithyia tenderly, first on one cheek, then the other.

Lithyia nods at Ellusine.

Lithyia hugs Traiva, who wraps her in a warm embrace.

Sorlu nods at Ellusine.

Ellusine whispers, "I do not plan to back down."

Teaberry sighs.

You smile.

Speaking to Ellusine, Sorlu says, "And you have given us much to think on as well."

Lithyia nods at Sorlu.

You nod in agreement at Sorlu.

Speaking to Sorlu, Jadedragan says, "We are still building the base of alliances up here that has been striven toward for how long? Kraet, the reivers, any number of groups can help with this if we reach out and work WITH them."

Ellusine nods slowly.

Speaking to Sorlu, Jadedragan says, "I see no reason for enough desperation to exist that allying with the krolvin is the only, or even a good, way."

Vaemyr nods at Jadedragan.

Jadedragan slowly empties his lungs.

Speaking to Jadedragan, Dendum says, ""There is no collection of people in the north that can match the ship building and numbers of Tamzyrr....there just are not enough bodies...or logs."

Speaking to Jadedragan, Sorlu says, "We don't necessarily need to become allies with them for us to still take advantage of their position and nature."

Jadedragan shrugs at Dendum.

Draelor says, "Still no reason to try and save Krolvin of all things."

Dendum says, "Eh...yes...perhaps."

Teaberry says, "This is a terrible idea."

Dendum nods at Draelor.

Ellusine closes her eyes for a moment.

Speaking gently to Teaberry, Ellusine says, "Then I shall raise it no more this evening."

Speaking to Sorlu, Jadedragan says, "And they're not a good enough service to waste the time on warning. If they survive, let them continue. I still don't see a reason to put any effort into saving them."

Teaberry nods at Ellusine.

Sorlu says, "I propose no idea yet, to be clear...I'm simply talking through some initial thoughts."

Jadedragan slowly empties his lungs.

Sorlu nods understandingly at Jadedragan.

Speaking to Sorlu, you say, "A wise way to handle things, Councillor."

Ellusine says, "I hope that Clovertooth Hall will release information on the election soon."

You nod in agreement at Ellusine.

Jadedragan says, "I understand I'm a bit more passionate about this than others. But I can't just ignore my past, or the pasts of countless others, for expediency."

Lithyia nods at Jadedragan.

Teaberry nods at Jadedragan.

Lilanna nods at Jadedragan.

Speaking to Ellusine, you say, "Yes. I had rather hoped to hear something on that soon."

Opalina adopts an agreeable expression.

Speaking to Jadedragan, Draelor says, "Makes perfect sense."

Ellusine says, "I... may lack the political polish to make a good showing, but I am eager to discuss other ways in which I can help to improve Icemule Trace."

Speaking to Jadedragan, Sorlu says, "We dealt with these krolvin plenty in River's Rest. I have not forgotten what they are, or what they do."

The sound of the wind whistling comes from outside.

Sorlu nods at Jadedragan.

Speaking to Ellusine, you say, "I am curious about the mayoral candidates and also those who may fill the council seats."

Lilanna suddenly pauses, a look of consternation crossing her features as she listens intently.

Ellusine nods to you.

Speaking to Sorlu, Vaemyr says, "Although if you do want to ever try to plan a rescue mission, I've signed up for worse suicide mission causes, that would be a noble one at least."

Ellusine somberly says, "Do pardon me."

Lithyia nods at Ellusine.

Straightening your back, you give a formal, low curtsy to Ellusine. In time with your greater movement, you incline your head as well in a brief nod in her direction.

Sorlu grins at Vaemyr.

Lilanna nods at Ellusine.

Trisscar nods.

Ellusine just went west.

Lithyia turns to face Grutak.

Drawing her left leg behind her right, Teaberry briefly dips into a respectful curtsy and bows her head.

Lithyia glances at Grutak.

Grutak glances at Lithyia.

Opalina twitches her elegant fingers ever so briefly.

Lilanna furrows her brow.

Dendum says, "That Halflings is going to win election with all this talk of helping Krolvin...for the Dabbings."

Trisscar sighs.

Vaemyr nods at Dendum.

Speaking to Sorlu, Jadedragan says, "I understand, and I know part of coming here and wishing to join with the new community is bending."
