You decide to write your letter in Aelotian. Gyrrdha'ta: I write to assure you that I am very well and that I have been receiving your letters. Things are very busy here in Wehnimer's Landing since I have come, but you need have no fear for my safety. Despite what you have heard, the city has not fallen to rampaging monsters, nor is it overrun with criminals. Both reports are at best incomplete. We work together to rebuild and help each other, just as we did in Cysaegir, and I do what little I can to assist. Thank you very much for your generous gift of a few months ago. It is very beautiful but also very extravagant. I know the price of zydris, and it is not necessary for you to spend so much on me; you must consider your own needs. Nevertheless I can assure you that I treasure it and use it daily. I am wearing it now as I write this. I must let you know that my convictions on certain matters have not changed since last we spoke in person. As such, while I of course appreciate your invitation, I will not return to Cysaegir for the solstice. I have no wish to trouble anyone or be the cause of any further argument, so I assure you it is for the best that I remain in the Landing. I hope that you both have a pleasant and safe time this solstice. Mother, I must charge you with ensuring that Father dresses warmly enough for the weather. The winter is colder every year. Please give cousin Cydhrei my best wishes and tell her that I hope the children are not running her ragged. They are always so excitable this time of year. I love you both very much.
