Tikba (prime)/Sires and Mothers

A brief document is carefully affixed next to the door of Moot Hall with a black thorn.
Here in Wehnimer's Landing we have a curious tradition of speaking our minds. Neither a baronial coronet nor a Rook's mask affords one the privilege of silencing others. Our town square is neither an aristocratic court behind walls nor a secretive hideaway under a tavern. Neither honeyed words proffered around a campfire nor black-fletched arrows emerging from the shadows should be allowed to discourage our compatriots from sharing their views. Both deserve to be resisted by all good citizens. We must work together to make it clear that these instruments will not suffice to control us. We are neither servants paying homage to a master nor children being disciplined by a Mother. We are free to say what we wish.
(OOC note that this is an IC document, making a normative argument. Tikba knows that you can get arrested in the Landing for disturbing the peace, for example, but she's deliberately leaving that out. Anyone who cares to could ascertain Tikba is the author.)
