Images/Articles/Edits at Risk for Deletion
Hello, IRONMANRS. I'm reaching out to you about two different things. First, you recently uploaded an image to the wiki, File:Tabubu.png, that is missing some information required by Gswiki:Policy. Your image is missing the following information:
- Was permission granted by the artist to upload it?
- If AI imaging software was used to create it, [[Category:AI artwork]] must be in the image description for inclusion in Category:AI artwork.
Thank you for already stating who wrote the prompt for the image and the name of the AI generation software that was used to create it. Please see Gswiki:Policy#Copyrights for more information about the image policy and its requirement to note image creators, what AI imaging software was used (if any), and if permission was granted by the creator to upload the image to the wiki. This information needs to be on the images as well as on all articles using them. In addition, all images using AI software in their creation are required to be included in Category:AI artwork. To add that text to the image file, you will need to click on "Edit Source" on the image file itself and add all of the required information, including [[Category:AI artwork]] as part of the image's text description. All articles using this image will also need to have their captions updated to include this required information.
If that information is not added within 7 days, this image will be deleted from the wiki. Please do not remove the {{moddelete}} template from the image. Another moderator or I will remove that template after your updates have been reviewed to ensure that they meet Gswiki:Policy requirements. If you have any questions about this process or need more information about the updated policy for images, please reach out to the wiki team on the Gemstone Discord forum's wiki thread.
Second, I am reaching out to you about two different character pages. In reviewing some of the recent updates, I saw that you have made edits to Tabubu (prime), which appears to be a character page for someone else's character. In addition, another account has made edits to Yardie (prime), which previously was only edited by you. In both cases, there is no indication on either article's Discussion/Talk tab that Tabubu's player gave you permission to create or edit a character page on their behalf, or that you have given permission to another person to edit Yardie's character page on your behalf. Gswiki:Policy prohibits users from editing character pages unless the character is theirs or they have been given permission by that character's player to make those edits.
If you do have permission to edit Tabubu's character page, you will need to indicate this by clearly stating it on its Discussion/Talk tab, Talk:Tabubu (prime), that you have been given permission to do so by the player. Simply noting that in the edit reason for an article is not enough for Gswiki:Policy. Alternatively, Tabubu's player can put that information on the discussion page. Similarly, if you have given permission to any other accounts to edit Yardie's character page, either you or the other editors will need to indicate this on Talk:Yardie (prime). When adding that information, please make sure to add ~~~~ at the end of your comments, which will automatically add a "signature" with your user name, plus the date and time of when your edit was made.
If that information is not added within 7 days, your edits to Tabubu's character page and the most recent edits by user JUMBODOG to Yardie's character page will be deleted from the wiki. If you have any questions about this process or need more information about the updated policy for editing character pages, please reach out to the wiki team on the Gemstone Discord forum's wiki thread. I realize that I am reaching out to you about several things at once; I wanted to make sure that everything recent was addressed smoothly. Thank you for understanding. - Thank you very much for so quickly addressing all of these items! I have also answered your question to MOD-GSMOTTE on Talk:Yardie (prime). HOST-GSKEBECHET (talk) 10:20, 4 February 2025 (CST)
Periodical Creative Works
Hi there, IRONMANRS. In an effort to ensure stylistic consistency across the wiki, the Creative Works Style Guide was recently updated to better clarify and expand on the different types of creative works. Several of your recent updates include creative works that now fall under one of the newer categories. I know that you are involved in helping write a publication on behalf of TownCrier which would now be classified as periodicals under the updated style guide. Previously there was not a standard for their inclusion in the creative-work template, but that has now changed.
I wanted to reach out to you about Faction Attraction. The updated style guide recommends the following format for the article titles of individual issues:
Periodical series name/Individual periodical issue
Faction Attraction is already properly set up with this standard. The additional "nesting" under the larger TownCrier article is unnecessary but is also perfectly fine, so nothing needs to change with regard to the periodical or individual issue titles.
One thing that the articles are missing, however, is the creative-works template. I have added it in to the previously written issues (except for TownCrier/Faction Attraction/The Legions of B.A.C.O.N., as it appears to still be very much in progress), based on the article page creation dates. If you want any part of it to display differently, such as author name, you will need to go in and edit those articles further yourself. I left the author name field blank as there appear to be multiple editors on the individual articles, although you are the primary editor. In the future, you can add this on at the beginning of your individual articles using manually adding the template at the start of the article or via the associated form, which is linked just below that on the Style Guide article.
