Subject: Discussions in Ta'Nalfein

"Does she really think this is the best way to go forward?" a regal elven man says. Gazing across the table at a lovely elven woman he continues. "She must be out of her mind if she thinks we will all go along with this."

The woman responds, "The people will not accept this friendship with the humans. They are weak. There is no strength in an alliance with them. But we also cannot do nothing. I feel there is an opportunity here."

Sipping from a glass of wine, the women gazes out the window, lost in thought.

"I agree," man responds. As he tilts his head, his onyx and jade diadem shimmers slightly in the candlelight.

The woman rests her hand on his arm. "We will send someone in our place. A representative. I know just the one. We will send Mistress Ianthra Nishaye. She will be our eyes, ears, and voice."

He nods in agreement, "Ta’Nalfein will decide how to proceed when we read her reports."

Subject: Royal Procession Tour Underway

His Imperial Highness Aurmont Anodheles continues his Royal Procession through the Empire. The tour began last week as the Emperor and his entourage left Tamzyrr to begin their journey north for the summit with the Argent Mirror of House Illistim. The first stop was the city of Fairport, where Emperor Aurmont met with Count Claybourne of Torre and his family. The procession is currently in the city of Waterford, capital of South Hendor, and home of Earl Weirlund. The imperial cavalcade will continue its journey north with planned stops in Nydds, Lolle, and Helt, before arriving at the Valley of Gold next week.

Subject: About The Events

Just a quick recap for those coming in late.

For the past two years, the Ta'Illistim elves and humans have been in discussions over aid to the desolated areas of the Empire. The project was brought to the attention of the Argent Mirror by Lady Rohese. The first items were gathered for the children, and then seeing a larger need, expanded to include building materials, food, seeds, etc. When Lady Rohese went missing (this is a whole other saga for another time), a group consisting of different races and backgrounds worked together with the delegates from Ta'Illistim to acquire airship docking rights in Solhaven so goods could be easily transported to aid the relief effort. The Baron of Vornavis was so impressed, he discussed the project and aid with the Emperor who agreed to open discussions with the Argent Mirror. After correspondence between them, the Emperor and Mirror agreed to meet and discuss future aid and sign a treaty between their people that would declare mutual respect and friendship between the nations.

Scouts were sent searching for a location for this historic event to take place. While traveling in the Western Dragonspine, they stumbled down a mist-covered path. When they reached the bottom, the mist had cleared, and they saw a beautiful valley. The valley seemed to be bathed in gold as the sunlight glistened off of the veil of mist. They named it Valley of Gold.

From Lumnea the 20 through the 23, the elves and humans will come together in a historic meeting of races to share their cultures, make friendships, and be witness to the first declaration of respect and aid between their nations.

Subject: The Empire Stands Ready

Across the northern portions of the Turamzzyrian Empire, citizens turn out to see Emperor Aurmont and his Royal Procession as it continues on to the Valley of Gold. Along the way he has been joined by members of the nobility or their representatives, from as far west as Vornavis and as far south as Aldora, to attend the meeting with the Argent Mirror of House Illistim. Many are gathered now in Helt in the Barony of Riverwood, prepared for the final part of their journey where they will arrive at the golden valley nestled near the Dragonspine Mountains. For on the morrow the summit between the Empire and Illistim, humans and elves, will begin.

Subject: An Update

An announcement was sent out from the Elven Encampment at the Valley of Gold

Let all know that the Lady Orelwen is recovering from her illness of last evening. It has been determined it was poison, and the Argent Mirror's healers have noted that it is slowly leaving her system. It is expected she will make a full recovery in the course of time.

Subject: Valley of Gold Thank Yous

I want to thank all of the players for the kind words about their experiences at this event. We had such fun playing with you!! We'll definitely be taking any feedback and critiques offered into consideration as we continue the threadwork we've established at Valley of Gold.

A LOT of time and effort went into planning and executing this festival. I wanted to do an event this year that had a larger world scope and was focused solely around bringing roleplaying opportunities to the masses. Aid between the East/West started with the players originally, so I felt like this would provide the best platform to further existing interest, but I also hoped it would encourage new players to become more involved politically and possibly get them invested in future storylines, too.

When I approached Valyrka about weaving the existing Aid to the West storyline into my event idea, she was ALL IN! I cannot thank her enough for all the time she put into organizing and designing for Valley of Gold. Her dedication and reliability as a GM is unmatched. She is so passionate about the areas she oversees for us, and I could not have done this event without her. I don't have the words to truly show my appreciation. THANK YOU IS NOT ENOUGH, VALYRKA!

Lydil, thank you for all the guidance and oversight that we needed on all things human in the planning stages. You were invaluable to the process. More thanks for bringing our very important human NPCs to life, and for all the time you put in, both before and during the event!

Documentation Thank Yous To: Annanasi, Auchand, Kenstrom, Kynlee, Mazreth, and Skhorne

Shops and Structures Thank Yous To: Valyrka, Elysani, Elidi, Skhorne, Annanasi, Tamuz, Naionna, Quilic, and Wraex

Special thanks to Vanah for her work on the new verbs, and to all of QC for their quality control.

We had so many GMs roleplay above and beyond what was asked of them for this event. My sincerest gratitude goes out to Valyrka, Lydil, Mazreth, Aiza, Annanasi, Kynlee, Xeraphina, Ubiq, Mikos, and Host Kebchet for brilliantly animating the event.

Every single GM on the Subscriptions Team had a hand in doing something for this event. Endless thank yous to my entire team for their hard work to make this a great time for players. So many other folks were involved behind the scenes that I'm bound to forget someone, but a tip of the hat all around to staff for helping my team with Valley of Gold. I am so thankful to create with you all.

Hearts and excelsior!

~Galene
