Special Case Item
ANALYZE is a both a movement and inventory system verb, while being considered a special case verb, as well. Additionally, one can ANALYZE items for sale in shops during pay events or festivals.


Note: This will populate with ANALYZE by itself or as ANALYZE HELP.

    ANALYZE {item}      - Shows information regarding a scripted item.
    ANALYZE LOUD {item} - Messages others that you are analyzing an item.
    ANALYZE ROOM        - Examine current room for valid, open portals.



As a special case verb, it can be used to show the special properties and merchant restrictions of an item. Therefore, in order to use ANALYZE, it must always be used with an object target. Items must be in a character's hands or be worn by a character to be properly analyzed.

Enhancive items charged with SimuCoin store items will have their expiration date and time displayed.


Messaging for ANALYZE {item} will vary dependent on item properties and script. Below are some examples.

  • Failure (item in container)

  • Standard container (not max light/deep)
Note: This is only a guideline. Despite estimated messaging from the ANALYZE tool that reflects that the item may be worked on, a merchant may decline to work on the item.

You analyze your lilac satchel and sense that the item is free from merchant alteration restrictions.

You might be able to have a talented merchant lighten the lilac satchel for you or have its pockets deepened.
  • Standard container (max light/deep)

You analyze your components satchel and sense that the item is free from merchant alteration restrictions.

You can tell that the satchel is as light as it can get and that its pockets could not possibly get any deeper.
  • Scripted Item
The below example is for Magic gloves, also known as Bazzelwyn gloves. Actual messaging will vary depending on the specific item script.

You analyze your scarlet gloves and sense that the item is largely free from merchant alteration restrictions.

The creator has also provided the following information:
* It is fully alterable.

These scarlet gloves are set to use fancy messaging for WAVE.  They're using the following set of messaging:
You dismissively flick your hand at YOUR TARGET with an air of indifference.

These scarlet gloves are set to use fancy messaging for RAISE.  They're using the following set of messaging:
You raise your hands high above your head, as your scarlet gloves are surrounded by a bright glow.

These scarlet gloves are unlocked.

You get no sense of whether or not the gloves may be further lightened.

LOUD (item)

ANALYZE LOUD (item) gives third party messaging based on a successful item analyze.

Messaging (Third Person Only)
Xeraphina examines her reticule, staring at it intently from all possible angles.  Having acquainted herself with its inner workings, Xeraphina gives a satisfied nod.


ANALYZE ROOM is used to determine the location of portals within a room, especially rooms where portals may not be obvious upon initial look.


The below example is from Tigerlily Crossing on Four Winds Isle.

Candlelight spills forth from the glaesine windows of each of the shops that are nestled into a single, long and low building built upon one side of the lane.  Awnings, neatly folded back and tied in place, form colorful arches over each shop's doorway, while artistic signs sway slightly in the night breeze.  Somehow, water has collected inside the glass case of a lantern, creating tiny luminescent ripples across the cobblestones below it.
Obvious paths: north, east, south, west
