Loresong

As your voice enwraps the drinking horn a vision slowly unfolds to show rugged mountain terrain, lit by the high summer sun.

Two tribes of T'Kirem giantkin arrive from different directions and begin to set up camps on opposite sides of a large field within a deep valley. Taunts and jeers are shouted back and forth between the two camps, but the expressions on the faces of the clan members show that it is all in good fun.

The scene shifts and night has fallen. Groups of giantkin in both camps sit around large bonfires, drinking deeply from horns of ale. Tales of past battles are told and the others listen with rapt attention to the storytellers.

Your song reaches out to the drinking horn and another vision fills your mind.

The sun is just cresting a mountain peak and the giants are feasting on a large morning meal. In the middle of their eating and revelry, a sizable army of dwarves appear from over a hill.

The giants gawk, and begin to laugh and point, tossing out jokes about goblins in war regalia. The two tribes of giants arm themselves and prepare to battle the newly arrived foe.

As you sing to the drinking horn, another vision slowly unfolds within your mind.

The sun is high, and from its position in the sky, it is obvious that many weeks have passed since the giantkin first set up their camps.

The giants and dwarves are in the midst of a pitched battle, but they appear to be equally matched. The battle rages back and forth across the large field and up into the neighboring hills. Neither army is able to drive the other off the mountain.

As the sun sinks low in the sky, the giants return to their camp and gather around the nightly fire. They drink, laugh, and tell tales of the day's battle. Many of them frequently look towards the camp of the dwarven army, only to see that the dwarves are doing the same thing.

As you sing to the drinking horn once more, the sunlit mountains unfold before you again and it is clear that summer is drawing to a close.

Both the dwarves and the giants have maintained their entrenched positions and amazingly enough, no losses have been suffered by either side. The day's fighting appears to be more a contest of skills than an actual attempt to slay the enemy.

Finally, two T'Kirem tribe leaders separate from the battle and approach the dwarven clan leaders. The giants salute the dwarves, bringing a halt to the fighting.

The leaders fall into deep discussion, and then finally clasp arms in a symbolic act of sealing a treaty. The dwarves and giants gather around, and a great cheer goes up through the throngs.

As the scene fades, night has fallen once more, and the giantkin and dwarves are gathered around large bonfires, drinking and laughing together.
