Yardie rubbed his neck and shuddered as he felt the remnant of Krystalena’s touch. She preferred her mind’s touch over the gaping spillage. Nature cruelty showed no pity or remorse, and with some Cobalt Viper Company showcasing these talents, the Faendryl dreaded the subsequent encounter.

And there would be a next. There would be many nexts.

The Poisonous Lunatics displayed similar talents yet lacked the organization of this new bandit conglomerate. The rogue deduced some of those nature brigands aligned with the Company, perhaps finding the better claim in profit. With Mistwatch booming, the Vipers sank their fangs into unsuspecting prey. Surprise. Disrupt. Mug. Fade. A familiar, effective strategy that contrasted the military might of Ta’Vaalorian combat, forcing several retreats. The Vipers did not need to win in the traditional battle sense, only create enough chaos. They succeeded, running even the mightiest back with wounds and injuries.

Yardie’s ebon-sheened silvery lor quill danced in his left hand. He thought of the Legion Captain Tyavasinne Ghiran and her sidelong, judgmental gaze, causing every vertebra to pluck. "I’m not a citizen. I’m still learning to read!" Brushing a strand of his blue-black hair, he wished for Yukito’s Elven Alphabet book.

It’s not your fight. Leave it to them.

Yardie pushed the urge to retreat from a historic rival and committed his thoughts to words.

Captain Tieavasein,

Arrived at 9 Elven. Leff mai krack docked in Mistwatch. Reeturned to find Cobalt Vaipurr Kompany attaking. Aided Tevreal and Oarsus to cleer path to Mistwatch. Some bandits use nature magik like the Poysnous Lunaticks who wanted lass more trees. Xavanna says maybe magik with trees.

Bandits will naut fight fare. Will use tactics to cause trouble. Will hope to find more inforemayshun from contack. Expekt more attaks from bandits and maybee pirates to. I will werk as best as I can. Please don’t haite way I werk.

Sincerly,

Blayde Yardie

The Faendryl had little satisfaction with his note, but he did not wish to bother Agathilea, Tylanthriel, or his Vaalorian brother, Iskandr. He did not want to trouble Orssus or Krystalena. They had their reports to write. It was time to show the Faendryl he was serious about aiding Ta’Vaalor.

“Do something good,” Yardie whispered as he folded the letter and sealed it in an envelope, ready to ship it to the Captain Legionnaire.
