Opened in 5104 northwest of the North Gate of Wehnimer's Landing, the Museum of Weapons and Armor featured a variety of historically relevant armaments.
[A Tree-Lined Walkway] | |
The branches of two rows of carefully trimmed monir trees form an arch overhead, shading the flagstone walkway. The flat stones at your feet form geometric patterns leading up to a wrought iron fence surrounded by a variety of flowering bushes, and several carved stone benches are set along the sides of the walkway. You also see a wrought iron gate with a brass plaque mounted on it.

Sunlight pours through the half-dozen stained glaes windows, casting a reddish tint over the entire room. Enclosed behind heavy, rectangular glass display cases standing atop identical white marble pedestals are ancient sets of brigandine, hauberk, augmented breastplate, and full plate armor. Speckled marble columns reaching from floor to ceiling divide the room in half, separating the glass casements. Thick braided rope strung between metal poles, keep the overly curious from venturing near the exhibits.

Detailed wooden mannequins wearing a variety of leather armor and robes stand behind glass screens to keep them safe. Dressed the way they are, with their well made uniforms, the mannequins resemble real soldiers standing at attention. Globed lanterns create a series of dancing shadows along the walls and further enhance the illusion that the mannequins are sentient beings.

Heavy blue watered silk tapestries embroidered with a scattering of silver-threaded crescent moons and stars decorate the walls and block the windows. Rectangular displays enclosed with glass holds a variety of edged weapons. Along the back wall, an assortment of throwing weapons dangle from an old throwing net. Several handblown glass lanterns are deliberately positioned on tall metal poles designed to provide sufficient lighting for viewing the various exhibits.
