The Chance Box is a portable gambling game for silvers. It has been sold at Tiles of Chance, which is located in the Kraet Encampment just outside of Bloodriven Village. AnalyzeYou take a closer look at a bone-inlaid mahogany box. You analyze the mahogany box and sense that the creator has provided the following information: The Chance Box is a portable gambling game for silvers. To play, put the box on the floor to establish ownership and deposit silvers into the "House Bank," which can hold between 400 and 2 billion silvers. Others may then bet and spin the discs for a chance to win. While on the floor, the box will remain safe for about 15 minutes after gaming ends. Only the owner may pick it up, and doing so clears ownership. The House Bank must be empty first. READ the box for gameplay and payout information. GAMEPLAY ACTIONS PLACE Put on the floor to begin play. DROP [# COINS] COINS ON BOX Deposit silvers into the House Bank. DROP NOTE ON BOX Deposit a bank note into the House Bank. GATHER Withdraw the House Bank's holdings. GLANCE View disc symbols and bank information. RUB Reset all discs to blank. TAP BOX WITH [# COINS] Place a bet and spin the discs. The box may have its base/long description altered and must remain constructed of wood, which will always show as lacquered. The show description cannot be changed, but the elements listed below may be customized by any willing merchant. MATERIAL SETTINGS Box wood: mahogany Box edging: stylized bone inlay Disc material: bronze Axle metal: iron COLOR SETTINGS Spinning disc light: bone white *Runes: inky black *Smooth edge paint: white *Gameplay text paint: black *Should offer sufficient contrast for visibility against the mahogany. SHOW DESCRIPTION Surrounded by stylized bone inlay along the edges, the face of the roughly tambourine-sized and shaped box is fashioned from thin panels of brightly lacquered mahogany. Inky black runes connect three small round holes that form a triangle with a larger hole in the center. Each circular space houses a bronze disc that can easily spin on an iron axle. One smooth edge of the box is painted white and houses a coin slot. The mahogany box cannot be lightened or deepened. Usage
Additional InformationReadIn the Common language, it reads: THE CHANCE BOX This game is simple. Tap the discs on the other side to set them spinning for a chance to win silvers based on the symbols they reveal. Most symbols represent a specific town. The three smaller discs contain landmarks, mascots, and wildcards. The larger disc is a bonus and contains celebrities. Bad wildcards do nothing, while good ones match to other symbols. At least two symbols must match to win. A mixed match occurs when symbols do not match but represent the same town. Payouts are increased by matching to the nearest town. A House Bank must be established by the owner before play begins. Bets cannot exceed one fourth of its holdings, and the minimum bet is 100 silvers. Symbols involved in a winning outcome are highlighted. A "+" marker indicates a town match. --- PAYOUTS ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | | MATCH 2: MATCH 3: MATCH 4: | | Mixed 1:1 Mixed 2:1 Mixed 2.5:1 | | Mixed + Town 1.25:1 Mixed + Town 2.25:1 Mixed + Town 2.75:1 | | Matched 1.5:1 Matched 3:1 Matched 4:1 | | Matched + Town 1.75:1 Matched + Town 3.5:1 Matched + Town Bank | | | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Resources |
