The Green Death is a plague fabricated by Niatha, the Scarlet Temptress of Ivas. She perfected it on an island somewhere in the western seas. Despite precautions taken by those who pursued her, it was released to the mainland when she was captured in Imaerasta 5123. While it is not deadly by itself, it can cause health loss and earlier versions also created wounds on the infected. It is a highly contagious disease that is spread by merely being in the same room as someone infected. It causes fever, hot sweats, body aches, unsightly boils and pustules on the infected, and induces vomiting.

Fortunately, a cure for the Green Death was discovered prior to Niatha's capture in the form of an Aldoran healing stone. That recipe was shared by Odelgarde Brindlestraffe and is able to be made via General Alchemy by anyone with the skillset.

After being infected, the Green Death's effects manifest about five minutes after being exposed. It is unknown if it is contagious prior to symptoms manifesting. A person cannot be reinfected by the Green Death after having contracted it and being cured. There was an initial bug with the disease that caused reinfected. If your character was cured and then reinfected, you can ASSIST.

The infected will have an additional line show up when they are LOOKed at in their features, just below the tattoo and piercing line. Feature-hiding or modifying items can potentially mask presence of the disease. This line goes away after being cured.

Clustering boils heavy with vile green fluid cover her skin.

The initial infection line appears to consistently be:

A blush of heat suffuses your cheeks, settling into a persistent, febrile warmth that makes your bones ache.

At this point, the Green Death will cause a variety of ambient messages to occasional fire off.

Sweat burns like flows of lava as it streaks down your face in salty rivulets.

Your head pounds with every beat of your heart.

Your stomach churns violently, but you manage to keep its contents where they belong for now.

Your stomach churns violently, and you feel its contents force their way up your throat in a bitter torrent. You turn and vomit, but feel little relief from your misery.
A look of despair spreads across XXX's face an instant before she turns and vomits noisily onto the ground.

An awful rumbling churns through your guts as they cramp with excruciating pain.
An awful rumbling emanates from XXX's guts.

Your muscles tremble uncontrollably as hot flashes of pain travel down your spine.
XXX's muscles quiver and tremble uncontrollably.

In addition, once the disease has manifested, It is visible when checking HEALTH.

You are afflicted with the Green Death.

When using a green-banded cabochon bloodstone to cure an infected person:

Gently, you place your cabochon bloodstone on XXX's flesh. Closing your eyes, you center yourself and focus on bolstering her body's ability to fight off the horrors of the Green Death. Threads of insidious rot blaze sickly green before your mind's eye, and you draw them into your the bloodstone, where they diffuse harmlessly into the lifeless rock. Once every shred of the sickness is gone, you work carefully to bolster XXX's immunity to the disease before withdrawing your bloodstone.

When using a bloodstone to try to cure someone who is NOT infected:

Gently, you place your cabochon bloodstone on XXX's flesh. Closing your eyes, you center yourself and focus on bolstering his body's ability to fight off the horrors of the Green Death. You realize with some relief that not a thread of its insidious rot lurks within XXX, but work carefully to bolster his immunity to the disease nonetheless.

Note that using a bloodstone on someone who is not infected still uses one if its charges.
