Introduced in 2016 through Delirium Manor, Whax dolls required characters to search within a dollhouse to find pieces to be combined, similar to MoonShard pendants. The doll itself consists of six parts, torso, right and left arms, right and left legs, and a head, and requires glue (a glass bottle of blue ooze) to be considered fully assembled and useable. To fully unlock the doll's abilities and turn it into a completed Whax doll, a core needs to be found and attuned to one of the many NPCs that wander the manor, along with a key to turn to activate it. At the June 2017 Return to Delirium Manor event, the dolls were updated to allow for them to wear a variety of Whax doll accessories, which included additional features such as eyes, ears, and nose, as well as worn or held items. Whax dolls were created by GM Haliste. Doll PartDoll parts come in six varieties: head, torso, left and right arms, and left and right legs. Parts can be added to a torso, which can support one of each other type attached to it. Once all six parts are combined, you end up with an assembled doll. You can LOOK at a part to determine what it is.
This is the torso section of a doll. Usage: (glued doll) DANCE, GROWL, KISS, LOOK, POKE, TURN. You can also accessorize your doll with pieces found within Delirium Manor. Hold an accessory in your left hand and a glued doll in your right, and PUSH <accessory>. Accessory pieces cannot be removed, but they can be overwritten. Usage: (unglued doll with 6 body parts) DANCE, GROWL, KISS, LOOK, POKE, PULL, and TURN. Usage: (unfinished doll) DROP (piece ON torso), LOOK, PULL, and TURN
Assembled DollAn assembled doll consists of a head, torso, right and left arms, and right and left legs. While assembled and before gluing it, the doll's pieces can be manipulated, removing and adding different parts if desired. Once glue has been applied, the doll becomes a glued doll. The second portion of the ANALYZE remains the same through the assembly process, save for a complete doll.
This is an unfinished doll. You can TURN the doll to select a piece, and PULL the doll to remove it. You can glue your doll together if you have a bottle of blue ooze, but this will seal all the separate pieces together. LOOK to see what is attached to the doll.
Glued DollOnce glue has been applied to an assembled doll, all of its parts are permanently attached to it. A glued doll is capable of having Whax doll features and clothing put onto it.
This is a jointed wooden doll. It has been glued together, evidenced by the lightly blue-tinged substance filling the joint spaces.
You see a jointed wooden doll that has been glued together. It has no remarkable features and is wearing nothing of note. There is no core inside the chest cavity.
Complete DollA complete Whax doll is considered an auction quality item. To complete a Whax doll, you must add an attuned core to it. Doing so will bind the NPC used to charge the core to the doll, causing the doll to appear as the NPC did inside Delirum Manor. Cores are extremely rare finds. A complete Whax doll can be animated using a key. Using a key on a complete Whax doll allows the character to swap places with their doll for a short period of time. A key must first be TURNed in a doll before PULL can be used to swap places with it.
This exemplar doll is a rare collectible creation found only in Delirium Manor. It can not be altered, but you can add accessories found within Delirium Manor by holding an accessory in your left hand and your doll in your right hand, and PUSH <accessory>. Accessories cannot be removed, but they can be overwritten. Use caution when bringing the doll to life in hostile territory. Dolls do not like scary creatures. Usage: Dance, Growl, Hug, Kiss, Look, Pinch, Poke, and Pull (if you have used a key).
You see a rugged exemplar doll. It has no remarkable features and is wearing nothing of note. There is a small pink mass tucked into the doll's chest cavity and a key slot along its back.
GlueGlue is used to permanently seal an assembled doll's parts, turning it into a glued doll capable of wearing Whax doll features and clothing. Glue typically is found as a glass bottle of blue ooze.
This bottle contains some blue ooze that can be used to glue doll pieces together. It contains one application. POUR BOTTLE on TORSO to glue your doll pieces together permanently. You will be unable to remove any pieces once its glued. This process is FINAL!
Grey CoreThe grey core allows the Whax doll to become fully functional and also take on the appearance of a wandering NPC in the Manor. To charge the core, WAVE it at the NPC of choice while inside Delirium Manor. Once charged, it can be added to a glued doll. It is possible to overwrite the NPC description in a filled core by waving it at a new NPC, however once the core has been added to a completed doll, the NPC can not be changed. Grey cores are a very rare find in Delirium Manor, and the resulting completed doll is considered auction quality.
This core appears to be some kind of energy source for a doll. It does not appear to be charged. Find an appropriate visitor at Delirium Manor, WAVE CORE at it, and then INFUSE CORE while inside the private vault. This core appears to be some kind of energy source for a doll. Since it's charged with the life spirit of a frizzy-haired soulslayer, and it has been infused with your energy, it is ready to be inserted into a doll's chest cavity. If you would rather have something other than a frizzy-haired soulslayer, you can WAVE the core at another visitor, and then INFUSE again. Your doll will need to be glued together before you will be able to insert the core. You get no sense of whether or not the core may be further lightened.
KeyKeys are available at the Delirium Manor Gift Shop and come in four varieties, each lasting different times. While most will disintegrate after each use, permanent ones went out in the feeders and others were made permanent at Ebon Gate 2016. A Whax doll key can also be made permanent by using the PERM-ifier.
This one-time use wooden wind-up key can be used to wind up a rare doll from the Delirium Manor. Keys cannot be altered. Keys will last for the following durations: Wooden: 5 minutes Brass: 10 minutes Silver: 20 minutes Gold: 30 minutes To use, simply hold your doll and key, and TURN KEY. NOTE: These keys will not work on partially completed dolls. You have 5 minutes to PULL out the core once you have wound up your doll. Failure to do so will cause your doll to unwind. You will need to use another key to wind it up again.
Additional InformationAssembling a DollIndividual parts must be added to a torso to assemble a doll. A torso can support one head, a right and left arm, and a right and left leg. Once assembled, glue can be added to the doll, turning it into a state that can wear Whax doll accessories, which include basic features, clothing, and held items. Applying glue to a doll is irreversible. To create a Completed Whax doll, a glued doll must have an infused core placed inside its chest cavity. Cores are infused by charging them with a wandering NPC inside of Delirium Manor. In order to successfully insert a core into a doll, you must do it while standing inside the Delirium Manor secret hideout's private vault. Otherwise, the following error occurs: >infuse core This delicate procedure can only be done within the secret hideout's private vault. Adding a core to a doll is irreversible. The doll will permanently look like the NPC that was used to charge the infused core. Make sure that you have charged it with the NPC you want before adding the core to the doll. Within the DollHelpIf you want out of the doll's body, you can PRAY to get out of your current predicament. If you want to speak, you can WHISPER into your CORE.
Despite being trapped in a doll's body, there are still numerous things you can do.
