Cobbling adornment

Cobbling adornments are used in the cobbling system as part of the process to create cobbled footwear. Adornments are optional and allow for cobbled footwear to have expanded description options, which is done by adding the adornment via an embellishment pattern. The ability to add cobbling adornments is considered a special type of cobbling pattern called an "embellishment", which are apart from the various footwear pattern types. Different embellishment patterns work with different types of adornments. Not all embellishment patterns work with all adornment types. Cobbling adornments can be purchased at cobbling supply shops, while the embellishment patterns are purchased from Cobbling Guilds across Elanthia. Certain types of adornments can be prepared by other NPC shops, such as gems at the gemshop and skinned creature parts at the furrier. Adornments are frequently sold at various festivals and pay events. Cobbling adornments can work with different embellishment pattern styles. Some adornments only work with a limited number of embellishment patterns, while others work with a greater variety. This usually depends on how the adornment was created when using NPC services or how it was set up for sale at various shops, festivals, or pay events. The phrasing for how a specific type of adornment can be attached to cobbled footwear via an embellishment pattern is always stated in its LOOK/SHOW description. Embellishment Styles Cobbling adornments are capable of supporting multiple types of embellishment patterns, expanding the options for how they can be attached to cobbled footwear. Depending on the nature of the adornment, it may fall into more than one category of embellishment pattern. The supported embellishment pattern styles are always noted in the LOOK/SHOW description. In some cases, cobbling adornments may be able to use two slightly different versions of the same type of embellishment pattern. When they are set up this way, they allow for both a singular and a plural form of the adornment noun with the same type of embellishment type. For example, the "(item)-studded" embellishment type can allow an appropriate adornment to appear as either "(item)-studded" for the singular form or "studded with (item)s" for the plural form. Not all adornments are set to allow for both singular and plural forms of the same embellishment pattern. All of these adornment styles are frequently available at festivals and pay events in addition to the various cobbling supply shops. Place four identical gemstones in the pouch to get specific color settings of that type of gem (e.g. green sapphire settings), or place four of any color of a type of gem to get colorless settings (e.g. sapphire settings). Give the pouch to a gem dealer in a town gemshop to receive the settings. Additionally, certain types of adornments can be crafted via items.
