Memorial Candle

Originally appearing at the Ebon Gate Festival, memorial candles went on to be featured at Halcyon_Hills in the mourner's shack. These candles have been used over the years during services held near water. Analyze You analyze the marigold-shaped candle and sense that the creator has provided the following information: Only useable in special rooms, typically Halcyon Hills or Ebon Gate, though there are some rare exceptions, the candle floats in water once lit. Before LIGHTing the candle, you can WHISPER a name to it to create a memorial device. If you LOOK at the candle you are able to determine who it is dedicated to, though it is not necessary to dedicate it. You get no sense of whether or not the candle may be further lightened. Usage Verb First Third LOOK (no dedication) You see nothing unusual. To dedicate the candle, you have but to whisper it a name. LOOK (dedicated) You glance at your marigold-shaped candle and remember that it is dedicated to Piper. To rededicate it, just whisper it another name. WHISPER {name} You tighten your grip on the marigold-shaped candle and smile sadly to yourself as you think of Piper. Thandiwe smiles sadly to herself as she tightens her grip on a violet marigold-shaped candle. LIGHT Kneeling at the pond's edge, you gaze thoughtfully across the tranquil waters at the flickering flames of candles already set afloat. After a moment's meditation on friends and family long lost, you set your marigold-shaped candle on the water. A small push sends it gently drifting to join the others. As your marigold-shaped candle slowly floats away from your outstretched hand, you quietly whisper the name, "Piper." Kneeling at the edge of the pond, Thandiwe gazes thoughtfully across the tranquil waters. It is impossible to tell whether she is merely entranced by the flickering candles or looking at something much farther away; something, or someone, in her past. A sad smile crosses her face as she slowly places a violet marigold-shaped candle in the water and watches it drift away to join the others. Thandiwe sadly whispers a single word, possibly a name, too quietly to be heard.
