This article is about the Pet Rock item script released in 2026. For the older "pet rock" from the Premium Festival, see Toy geode.

Pet Rocks are a tiered fluff pet toy that debuted as part of the February 2026 Duskruin run.

Not to be confused with toy geodes, the Pet Rocks are built upon the same system that brings you teadragons and a host of other pets. They were created by GM Xynwen.

The first time you bind/summon a pet rock, you will be awarded a unique post-name title: Sentinel of the Skirmishing Stone.

Summoning Device

The summoning device for pet rocks is a small chest-like item. PROD will summon your pet.

Analyze

 ~*~ Pet Rocks: Summoning Device ~*~
This box is a summoning device that will call a pet rock.

Summoning Device Alterations:
  * Device's base, long, and show may be altered normally, but it must be made of some sort of stone.
    - Noun must be box, chest, coffer, or strongbox
    - This should be handheld/small, so nothing indicating it is large
  * Summoning device will always reference a lid in the messaging, so do not contradict this

Pet Rock Alteration Information:
  * Pet must be DISMISSed before any alterations can occur (they are done on the box)
  * Pet rocks will take a base, long, and show
  * These are small items (no more than human palm-sized), and LOOK will append some details to the SHOW.
    - Namely that there is a magical aura about it
  * Allowable nouns: stone, rock, pebble, gem (or specific gem type, like ruby)
   - These are fighting items, so nothing is pristine/flawless
  * Color: The primary color of the stone. Can be 1-2 words, but this is limited to the color itself
  * Type: What type of stone it is (slate, basalt, ruby, etc)
  * Pattern: Surface pattern, precedes words like 'exterior' or 'surface.' Ex. moss-covered, battered, gold-veined

Verbs:
  * PROD box to summon the pet, SING box for the loresong, POKE the pet to toggle ambients.
  * T1 verbs: growl, lick, nudge (pet only)
  * T2 verbs: eat, kick (pet only), slap (pet only)
  * T3 brush (pet only), raise, flip (pet only)
    - TURN: At T3, you can TURN box to toggle your pet between T1 and T3 actions. Must be done before pet is summoned.

Details:
  * Tier:  3
  * Summoned Tier (set by TURN): Set as a T3 pet, has a chance to fire messaging from earlier tiers. TURN to set it like a T1 pet.
  * Base:  a,smooth,stone
  * Long: a smooth stone marked with clunky Gnollish runes
  * Show:  none
  * Color:  grey
  * Stone Type:  stone
  * Exterior Pattern:  smooth
