:Yes. The spelling is Hoard for those creatures, even though Horde would make more sense in context. In the 1999 copy of "Creatures & Monsters" the Hoard are page 110. In "Creatures & Treasures II" from 1989 it is page 33-34. I intend on significantly re-writing this page to condense it and make the literature parallels or allusions cleaner, since it is more clear to me now that the landscape corresponds specifically to the Underworld parts of the Dreamlands (where I assume the idea is playing off "Charon" being the name of the boatman across the river Acheron in Hades/Inferno.) If the mana draining puzzle is not broken at the moment I assume it involves spells my character does not have or else syntax I've never guessed. ::I know that it involves multiple spell lists, and my recollection was that it could not possibly be done by a single character. (Then again, the rules on what is permitted on scrolls have been greatly relaxed, so it may, now, be possible for just one to do it.) I did write to Banthis & Lyredaen--since they're back--pointing them to the page for anything that they a) remembered and b) felt permitted to write about, but it doesn't look like they've visited. I ''kind of'' think that it was Banthis who had posted saying that the puzzle hadn't been solved in a while, and then coming back later and saying that it had been broken and just re-fixed, but if so that would mean that it was ~16 years ago; sadly, I was unable to find anything in my archives about that discussion. :::This page is about to get cleaned up / re-written anyway. It grew organically as I figured things out. (The biggest thing Banthis could help with is insight about the no-longer-functional Sheruvian monolith transportation network, those monoliths and krodera/veil-iron orbs and those Voln-like tapestries and that parchment that is weird lore-wise.) I was looking through the lists of spells that existed in 1993. Based on my understanding of what the things are supposed to represent, the crystals should be part of the dome's mechanism, and I would expect you had to cast Forget on them. But 703 Corrupt Essence does not work on them. I could also see Mind Jolt being used on the boiling mud. But none of my Sorcerer-accessible spells work on the crystals or the boiling mud. (And actually, I got attacked by the mud for the first time just now, which I always assumed should happen.) So, nothing on Open Channeling, Open Essence, or Sorcerer works. Closed Channeling and Bard were unimplemented. That leaves Mage, Closed Essence, Cleric, and a few Ranger spells. There has been a lot of condensing, and some of these spells do not exist now. - Yes. INIQUITY (talk) 00:53, 13 November 2017 (CST)

- This page is about to get cleaned up / re-written anyway. It grew organically as I figured things out.
