The '''KnightWear surcoat''' is a fluff script for surcoats and tabards that is part of the larger [[KnightWear]] set. It is worn over armor and depicts an emblem. A brief emblem design is a required component. If a detailed emblem customization is present, it is included as part of the surcoat's {{boldmono|LOOK}}/{{boldmono|SHOW}} description. {{#section:KnightWear|description}}

<pre{{log2}}>This surcoat is part of the interactive KnightWear family and is set up as {{blue|a surcoat}} item with the {{blue|Monty (clumsy knight!)}} set of characteristics. KnightWear items have messaging that sometimes incorporate other worn Knightwear items and specific types of footwear into the messaging. Some messaging also differs when mounted on a Rumor Woods-style horse. You sense that the surcoat currently includes {{blue|the base verbs (Verb Set 1)}}. You can try to: WEAR, REMOVE, RUB, and TAP the surcoat. Note: you can only wear 1 per "type" of KnightWear at a time (i.e. you can wear 1 KnightWear belt and 1 Knightwear surcoat at the same time, but you cannot wear 2 KnightWear belts at the same time).

The KnightWear surcoat is a fluff script for surcoats and tabards that is part of the larger KnightWear set. It is worn over armor and depicts an emblem. A brief emblem design is a required component. If a detailed emblem customization is present, it is included as part of the surcoat's LOOK/SHOW description. KnightWear is a series of scripted items that interact with each other and is themed for knights and jousting. KnightWear items are sold at Rumor Woods in The Knight Way. The scripts can be added to your own items at Rumor Woods in the Forge Stall (8208801).

There are three flavors of messaging available for each component:

  • Lance (traditional knight)
  • Gaston (self-important/arrogant knight)
  • Monty (clumsy knight)

The type of messaging is always noted in the item's ANALYZE. Messaging for the flavors is similar at its base, sometimes with only slight differences, sometimes with some more pronounced differences, for all of the verbs except RUB, which is the same for all flavors. The messaging that will be used is dependent on the item you're directly acting on -- it uses that item's flavor and tier, even if other KnightWear items of other flavors/tiers are mentioned in it. Because of this, you can mix and match flavors and tiers to get the combination that works best for you. Only one of each type of KnightWear item can be worn at once - so only one belt, etc.

KnightWear items come OTS with four verbs. The two different verb set unlocks are independent of one another and can be added in any order or combination for each component of the set.

Analyze

This surcoat is part of the interactive KnightWear family and is set up as a surcoat item with the Monty (clumsy knight!) set of characteristics.  KnightWear items have messaging that sometimes incorporate other worn Knightwear items and specific types of footwear into the messaging.  Some messaging also differs when mounted on a Rumor Woods-style horse.  You sense that the surcoat currently includes the base verbs (Verb Set 1).  You can try to: WEAR, REMOVE, RUB, and TAP the surcoat.  Note: you can only wear 1 per "type" of KnightWear at a time (i.e. you can wear 1 KnightWear belt and 1 Knightwear surcoat at the same time, but you cannot wear 2 KnightWear belts at the same time).

The linen surcoat may be altered within guidelines for its item type, but the noun must remain something almost exactly identical to a surcoat -- tabards and longer similar items that can have a loose fit are acceptable; short shirts, aprons, vests, bodices, etc. are not acceptable.  Any show descriptions MUST incorporate the surcoat's design.

Optional: specify the material in messaging -- default is "fabric".  It is currently set to: particolored linen.

Required: specify the in-brief design/markings on the surcoat.  The design should not be over-complicated nor too wordy (it displays in verb messaging output).  Must make sense in the following:  "gesture at the __________ on your linen surcoat" -- default is  "interlocking serpent and phoenix design".  It is currently set to: clockwerke beetle design.

Optional: detailed design/marking.  This is a more detailed description of the in-brief design that will show up in LOOK/SHOW.  This should only describe the above design/pattern and should always make sense on a fabric surcoat.  The in-brief design currently has no extra detailing.

Gaston

Gaston KnightWear items are themed around a self-important or arrogant knight.
