The vissi may have abilities you can activate by using certain verbs (RUB, TAP, PUSH, PULL, or POKE) on the vissi artifact you add them to. In order to set the activator, use ATTEND on the vissi. The vissi might not have an ability you may activate, in which case ATTEND will indicate that.

Sometimes, a vissi may have multiple abilities you can activate with the activator verbs. You can TILT the vissi to switch between them. Tilt will not respond if the vissi has only a single ability (or no abilities at all). You may only have one ability active at a time.

In addition, the vissi may have abilities with customizable messaging options. You can TURN the vissi to customize each set of options. Once on a set of options, you can TWIST the vissi to cycle through the available customizations.

Finally, some vissi may contain ambient messaging, which you can toggle on or off with COVER.

The Eternal Nightmare vissi is a chimera vissi that is part of the vissi system. It must be placed inside an arcarium to function. As a singular vissi, it has the same effect no matter what type of arcarium houses it.

Surrender your mind to an artifact that feeds on fear and thrives in the shadows of the subconscious. From waking nightmares that hold you captive to the haunting echoes of unseen horrors, this vissi ensures that your nightmares are no longer yours alone to bear. The Tier 5 ability can be targeted via {VERB} MY {ARCARIUM} AT {TARGET}.

This vissi is a possible prize for the Fugue Elanthians mini-game. They are also sold for aevit. See the full upgrade costs below.

Tier 1

The vissi has "Personal Nightmare" verb messaging for its activator verb, which can be set or changed via ATTEND.

Analyze

You analyze the Nightmare vissi and sense that the creator has provided the following information:

The Nightmare vissi can be added to a vissi artifact in order to augment the artifact with custom abilities.  Each vissi artifact may hold up to 5 different types of vissi, and each vissi may be upgradable by adding additional vissi of the same type to the artifact.

The Nightmare vissi is named Eternal Nightmare and it is a Chimera vissi.

This vissi notes the following ability information:

Torment your waking hours with nightmares from your companion Vissi.

The vissi may have abilities you can activate by using certain verbs (RUB, TAP, PUSH, PULL, or POKE) on the vissi artifact you add them to.  In order to set the activator, use ATTEND on the vissi.  The vissi might not have an ability you may activate, in which case ATTEND will indicate that.

Sometimes, a vissi may have multiple abilities you can activate with the activator verbs.  You can TILT the vissi to switch between them.  Tilt will not respond if the vissi has only a single ability (or no abilities at all).  You may only have one ability active at a time.

In addition, the vissi may have abilities with customizable messaging options.  You can TURN the vissi to customize each set of options.  Once on a set of options, you can TWIST the vissi to cycle through the available customizations.

Finally, some vissi may contain ambient messaging, which you can toggle on or off with COVER.

Tier 6

The vissi has "Directed Nightmare" verb messaging as an alternate set of messaging for its activator verb, which can be set or changed via ATTEND. You can cycle between the Tier 1 and Tier 6 verb messaging sets via TILT. Only one of the available verb messaging sets can be active at a time. Additionally, the vissi offers customization of the Tier 6 verb messaging with pre-set options among the individual segments. Cycling through customization options is done via TURN and TWIST.

This is a targeted ability, but it is not like the sorcerer nightmare spell; it will do no actual harm. The messaging below shows the final part of the usage chain. You begin by challenging another player to view your nightmare, and that player will have the choice to accept or decline. If they accept, the above will occur.
