The Whax doll parts and assembly is a fluff script that applies to miscellaneous items, and is part of the Whax doll items family of scripts. It was originally released at Delirium Manor 2016. Doll assembly requires six doll parts and Whax doll glue. A Whax doll core is required to transform the completed doll into a fully functional Whax doll, however dolls still function as a type of toy when assembled and/or glued.

Analyze

Doll parts, assembled (unglued), and glued dolls share the same ANALYZE information, with the only difference specifying the item type at the top (ex. torso, jointed wooden doll, etc.).

You analyze the wooden doll and sense that the item is largely free from merchant alteration restrictions.

The creator has also provided the following information:

This is the torso section of a doll.

Usage: (glued doll) DANCE, GROWL, KISS, LOOK, POKE, TURN. You can also accessorize your doll with pieces found within Delirium Manor. Hold an accessory in your left hand and a glued doll in your right, and PUSH <accessory>. Accessory pieces cannot be removed, but they can be overwritten.
Usage: (unglued doll with 6 body parts) DANCE, GROWL, KISS, LOOK, POKE, PULL, and TURN.
Usage: (unfinished doll) DROP (piece ON torso), LOOK, PULL, and TURN

You get no sense of whether or not the doll may be further lightened.
Unglued Doll
This is an unfinished doll. You can TURN the doll to select a piece, and PULL the doll to remove it. You can glue your doll together if you have a bottle of blue ooze, but this will seal all the separate pieces together. LOOK to see what is attached to the doll.
Glued Doll
This is a jointed wooden doll. It has been glued together, evidenced by the lightly blue-tinged substance filling the joint spaces.

Usage Information

Doll Parts/ Unfinished Doll

There are six total parts required to assemble a Whax doll:

  • a plain doll torso
  • a wooden doll left arm
  • a wooden doll right arm
  • a wooden doll left leg
  • a wooden doll right leg
  • a wooden doll head

To assemble a doll, one must DROP one of the doll parts onto the doll torso which will transition it into an "unfinished doll". PULLing all the parts from an unfinished doll will transition it back to "a plain doll torso".

Verb Modifier First Third
Drop/ Put (Part) on Torso/ Doll Grasping the torso firmly, you shove a wooden doll right arm into its proper place. This section has not been added yet; please add to it now!
Turn Torso You turn the doll torso over in your hand a few times and scrutinize its structure with a keen eye. Nothing appears to be attached to the torso. This section has not been added yet; please add to it now!
Unfinished doll You turn an unfinished doll over in your hand a few times and scrutinize its structure with a keen eye.

You are currently focused on the doll's right arm piece. Turn the doll again within 15 seconds to select the next piece or PULL the doll to remove it.

You turn an unfinished doll over in your hand a few times and scrutinize its structure with a keen eye.

As the right arm is the only piece attached to the doll, turning it again won't do much, but you can PULL the doll to remove the right arm.

PULL N/A You yank forcefully on a wooden doll right arm, freeing it from the doll with a loud *POP*! This section has not been added yet; please add to it now!

Assembled Doll

An assembled doll consists of a head, torso, right and left arms, and right and left legs, and appears as "an unfinished doll". While assembled and before gluing it, the doll's pieces can be manipulated, removing and adding different parts if desired. Once glue has been applied, the doll becomes a glued doll. At this point in the assembly process, the individual parts may still be removed with PULL. However, an unfinished doll offers additional verb interactions.

Verb First Third
Dance You hold your unfinished doll out in front of you and tilt it back and forth, causing its arms and legs to flop wildly. Look! It's dancing! XXX holds her unfinished doll out in front of her and tilts it back and forth, causing its arms and legs to flop wildly. Look! It's dancing!
Growl You curl your upper lip and growl menacingly at your unfinished doll. It seems unimpressed. XXX curls her upper lip and growls menacingly at her unfinished doll.
Kiss Holding the doll firmly, you draw it slowly to your lips and kiss the doll gently on its cheek. Aww! Holding it firmly, XXX draws her doll slowly to her lips and kisses it gently on its cheek. Aww!
Poke You poke your finger into the doll's empty chest cavity and wiggle it around. Yep, it's definitely empty! XXX pokes her finger into her doll's empty chest cavity and wiggles it around.

Glued Doll

Once glue has been applied to an assembled doll, all of its parts are permanently attached to it and it becomes "a jointed wooden doll". A glued doll is capable of having Whax doll features and clothing added to it. TURN usage transitions to a roleplay interaction.

Verb First Third
TURN You turn the wooden doll over in your hand, and its arms and legs flop noisily against your palm.
You turn the wooden doll over in your hand a few times and scrutinize its structure with a keen eye. Nothing appears to be attached to the doll.
XXX turns her wooden doll over in her hand, and its arms and legs flop noisily against her palm.
XXX turns her wooden doll over in her hand a few times, studying it intently.

Additional Information

Assembling a Doll

Individual parts must be added to a torso to assemble a doll. A torso can support one head, a right and left arm, and a right and left leg. Once assembled, glue can be added to the doll, turning it into a state that can wear Whax doll accessories, which include basic features, clothing, and held items. Applying glue to a doll is irreversible.

To create a completed Whax doll, a glued doll must have an infused core placed inside its chest cavity. Cores are infused by charging them with a wandering NPC inside of Delirium Manor. In order to successfully insert a core into a doll, you must do it while standing inside the Delirium Manor secret hideout's private vault. Otherwise, the following error occurs:

>infuse core
This delicate procedure can only be done within the secret hideout's private vault.

Adding a core to a doll is irreversible. The doll will permanently look like the NPC that was used to charge the infused core. Make sure that you have charged it with the NPC you want before adding the core to the doll.

Restrictions

  • It cannot be altered by a mat all.
  • Customizations, such as features, clothing, and accessories, are handled with Whax doll accessories only.
  • The final appearance of the doll is determined by the membranous grey core when inserted into it.
