It is believed that the level of the highest item on the badge is what affects the highest bonus that can be instilled into the badge, so it is recommended to concentrate on a single component on the badge until it unlocks the ability to hold a second enhancement.

Any character that has completed a task in the Adventurer's Guild can get a badge from the guild. The badges serve as a status symbol as well as being able to enhance the abilities, skills, and statistics of the character who wears the badge. There are five things that can be upgraded on the badges as a character earns Bounty Points through the Adventurer's Guild: the material, the bounding, the device, the motif, and the gem. A badge can only have a value of the lifetime bounty points that a character has accumulated. The first upgrade for an item on the badge is valued at 10,000 BP. The second upgrade is 20,000 BP, while the third upgrade is 30,000 BP, so a character with 60,000 lifetime bounty points could have 3 upgrades for the material (10,000 + 20,000 + 30,000) and nothing else, or 2 upgrades on the material (10,000 + 20,000) and two upgrades on the binding (10,000 + 20,000) for a total of 60,000 bounty points.

It is believed that the greatest enhancive potential of the badge can be obtained by evenly upgrading items on the badge (i.e. each part to level 1, then each part to level 2, and so on).
