Twisted Shield

Created by GameMaster Marstreforn. Released at the February 2024 run of Duskruin, in a Bloodriven Village shop called Amalgamations. Tier 1 (OTS) At tier 1 (as sold in the shop) these shields have standard flares based on their edition. The only edition currently released is Acid, which are constructed of black alloy and have a +20 enchantment like vultite. Merchants that are skilled with this type of shield may also customize the following: * Bouche: "an angular notch" * Grooves: "labyrinthine" * Fumes: "virescent" * Enarmes: "rigid leather brace" ** Lever: "a twisted metal lever" (not unlocked) ** Flares: "a twisted, prismatic spray of acid" (not unlocked) Combat Unlocks: ** Twisted Interdiction Flares (reactive: acid): NOT UNLOCKED - Chance for extra flares when you block an attack. - Will only flare this way while in an aggressive stance. *** Twisted Assault Flares (offensive: acid): NOT UNLOCKED - Chance for extra flares when you strike a foe with a shield ability. - These flares damage the target twice when they hit. Twisted Interdiction Flares must be unlocked to enable the Lever and Flares customizations. You might be able to have a talented merchant lighten the black alloy shield for you. Tier 2 - Twisted Interdiction Flares At tier 2, the shields gain additional flares on a successful block while in an aggressive stance (forward, advance, or offensive). A windwraith claws at you! You bolster yourself against the wind wraith's incoming blow! ** A twisted, prismatic spray of acid surges from the labyrinthine grooves on your black alloy aegis and strikes the wind wraith! ** ... 25 points of damage! Quick strike to the left leg! The wind wraith makes no bones about it. You easily block the attack with your black alloy aegis! ** Your black alloy aegis releases a spray of acid at the wind wraith! ** ... 20 points of damage! Swift strike would have hit more than an ear, if only it were there. This tier also allows access to the TURN verb, which can toggle an added line below held objects when someone looks at the character. He is in good shape.
