You analyze the tiny metal spikes and sense that the item is largely free from merchant alteration restrictions. The creator has also provided the following information: Your spikes are used to unlock the potential of things held in your other hand or on your person. A handful of tiny metal spikes grant the addition of spikes to armor and armor accessories. You need only RAISE your spikes while holding a compatible item in your other hand or on your person. Your spikes may not be altered or changed in any way. You get no sense of whether or not the spikes may be further lightened.
