"Collected Arms of the Order of the Azure Sun, First Edition" by Arelder Ronne
Chivalry is fundamentally linked with reputation. Courage, loyalty, generosity, martial ability, faithfulness, and honorable conduct hold value not least of which because they were witnessed and remembered as examples to be followed. And a recognizable shield, banner, or surcoat attaches good deeds to a name. Therefore, to fight beneath one’s arms is, symbolically, to place one’s reputation on the field with oneself.
Herein we have collected, where available, the arms of all active individual members of the Order of the Azure Sun. Where arms for a member are not available, the Order's arms have been duly substituted.
- Note from the author: With ready access to so many dyes throughout modern Elanthia, there is no doubt that individual arms presented in these pages may be seen in practice using a variety of shades. In this collection, we have restricted ourselves to the traditional tinctures used in heraldry to afford some measure of standardization.
