The target of the spell receives a Spirit warding to avoid the effects of the spell. Not all creatures will react to, or be affected by, this spell.
Alchemy creates some soft golden sand with the Silence spell in it.
Lore Benefits
Spiritual Lore, Summoning unlocks an ability at 20 ranks to silence multiple targets with a single cast. Each additional target beyond the first requires an additional 20 lore ranks. To utilize the multi-target version, CAST the spell without a target.
