This article is a work in progress!
An immobile character is unable to perform most actions involving any movement (including the ACT (verb)), and receives a penalty to their defensive strength and penalty to their evade/parry/block chances. The only roleplaying verbs available to an immobile character are speech and WHEEZE. Immobile status is caused by a variety of mechanisms including Bind (214).
Immobile characters cannot be dragged.
Additionally, some professions can gain access to special verbs and abilities to aid them while immobile:
- The BESEECH verb is available to Paladins through Divine Intervention (1635).
- Warriors can BERSERK in effort to break free.
- Bards can break the effects on either their group or themselves with Troubadour's Rally (1040).
Some situations cause a character to become partially immobilized but still capable of taking combat actions; see the rooted condition for more details.
