You analyze the linden keg and sense that the item is largely free from merchant alteration restrictions, but the creator has stated that "There do not seem to be any specific limitations."

The creator has also provided the following information:
This is a portable keg-type item that pours a drink! You sense that alterations are allowed, though they must make sense for the item and the type of drink it pours. Some merchants may be able to change the kind of drink that is poured or the taste, though not all will be comfortable with the process.

This particular keg has 25 pours remaining. Some merchants may be able to refill or add pours to your keg, though it will max out at 50 total pours. When someone sets this down on the ground, only that character will be able to pick it up for the following 30 minutes. However, bear in mind that if you leave the area, it may disappear and that it is not immune to crashes. Please make sure to register your keg.

This article is a work in progress!

Kegs can be purchased off the shelf at various festivals. Placing them on the ground allows those around to partake in the revelry. In rare circumstances, they can be unlimited with a winner's choice of ale within (see Custom Keg).

Additional Information

Custom Keg

Custom kegs are an extremely rare service. GMs offering the service may have different customization options. The list of items to be provided is from GM Kaikala, February 2017.

  • The keg's base (15/15/15), where the noun has to be "keg". Rarer materials will need to be supplied if allowed at all (i.e. if they don't have any special properties that QC will flag as being not allowed for this type of keg).
  • The keg long or show description, if desired.
  • The drink that gets poured out of the keg (15/15/15) -- for example - "a mug of,apple, beer". Long descriptions are fine (but no show). A "titled drink" can be used -- but it will still have to pass QC muster. If you're planning to use player character names not belonging to you, we can discuss that further, as there are sometimes limitations in that regard.
  • 2 standard taste messages. This is basically what your drink tastes like. For the taste messages, you can see below on the two different apple beer "standard" tastes how that looks when they do fire off. Those are fairly short taste messages; they can be a little longer.
  • Optional: 2 additional taste messages for a specific race or culture (and state which race or culture they are for).

Example

>tap keg
You tap a small bronze-banded keg, which is in your right hand.
>drop keg
You place your bronze-banded keg on the ground and pull out a small locking pin on the tap.
[note on above --> other people won't be able to pick the keg itself up for the first 30 minutes it's on the ground.]
>l keg
The keg is made up of rich wood banded in a thin copper material.
>pour keg
You pour yourself a mug of spiced apple beer.
>glance my beer
You glance at the spiced apple beer in your hand.
>drink my beer
You take a drink from your spiced apple beer.
You have 5 quaffs left.
>drink my beer
You take a drink from your spiced apple beer. Full-bodied and tannic, the beer leaves a taste of apple and molasses-like caramel upon your tongue.
You have 4 quaffs left.
>drink my beer
You take a drink from your spiced apple beer. Tart apple flavors break through the heady foam of the smooth, sweet beer.
You have 3 quaffs left.
>get keg
You pick up a small bronze-banded keg, carefully setting a locking pin back in the tap.
