Simutronics Affiliate Program
Alongside the extensive advertising blitz of 1997 to push for new web based customers, Simutronics launched the Simutronics Affiliate Program targeting internet service providers. ISPs would receive cash payment from Simutronics for referrals by bundling Simutronics games, including Gemstone III, DragonRealms, Modus Operandi, and Cyberstrike, with start-up software and/or providing links to Simutronics games websites.
As a result, from 1998-2000, Gemstone III was white-labled by early online third-party affiliate services such as Mplayer.com and ICL GamesZone.
