Mail signets or mail signet rings are scripted rings that are capable of imprinting a signet onto mailing envelopes or parcels with prepared wax. They are part of the mail system, which includes a variety of interconnected items. Mail signets and wax were first introduced alongside the mail system in 2021. Mail signets and wax should not be confused with stationery signets and wax, which utilize the stationery system. It is possible to unlock a mail signet to also be compatible with the stationery system via an automated certificate. This certificate was first sold in 2022 at Agora Promenade's Let's Make a Seal shop, as part of the Trials of Lumnis event. This unlock certificate is still available at the shop, which is now permanently open with the full release of the Isle of Ornath and its Sleeping Drake Harbor. After applying this certificate, FLIP will freely convert the mail signet into a stationery signet and back again. SignetMail signets utilize mail wax to create a sealed imprint on mail envelopes or parcels. They only work with mail wax and mail envelopes/parcels, which are part of the mail system. They have only the OTS tier associated with them. Using LOOK will reveal the signet's design:
You analyze the silver signet ring and sense that the creator has provided the following information: A slender silver signet ring is a signet ring meant for imprinting sealing wax with your personal seal. It can be altered freely so long as it remains a ring, band, signet, or other sensible finger-worn item that could be recognized as a ring. The seal can similarly be customized by willing merchants. You get no sense of whether or not the ring may be further lightened. Combined SignetMail signets can be unlocked to allow them to also work with the stationery system and its related items. This unlock is available for both types of signets via two different certificates sold at Let's Make a Seal. FLIP changes which system the signet is currently set to work with between the stationery system and the mail system. This option is added onto the standard analyze of both versions of the signet. The signet's imprint design remains the same for both signet scripts.
This has been unlocked for use with the Player Mail System by using FLIP. This has been unlocked for use with the Writing System by using FLIP.
WaxMail wax is used to seal mail parcels and envelopes with an embossed signet. It only works with mail envelopes/parcels and mail signets, which are part of the mail system. Mail was is simply applied to an appropriate parcel or envelope via PUT while wearing a mail signet, which automatically applies the signet design to the wax seal. Mail wax has a limited number of uses. This can be previewed via LOOK:
AnalyzeYou analyze the pristine white wax and sense that there is no recorded information on that item. It may or may not be able to be worked on by a merchant alterer. You get no sense of whether or not the wax may be further lightened.
