The phrase Out of Character, or OOC for short, refers to something which is generally considered to exist outside of the game world. This includes anything that exists only in the real world (e.g. cellular phones, computers, compact discs, etc.) and tends to include most modern concepts, values and so forth.
GameMasters and GameHosts themselves (the people behind them, and the "characters" which represent them in-game) are considered to be out of character entities.
