The Rapid Fire spell automatically re-prepares a spell immediately after it is CAST with no cast roundtime. This will occur as long as the wizard maintains enough mana to cast the spell and does not fail spell hindrance.
In order to change spells, the caster must manually RELEASE the (re-)prepared spell.
