Stone Fist is a warding spell that uses the earth element to conjure a massive stone fist. This fist will grab on to the enemy, leaving it rooted where it stands, thus hampering combat by imposing a penalty of -50 AS to melee attacks, -25 AS to ranged attacks, and -25 DS, and preventing maneuvers; the target may still be able to perform actions, such as attacking and spell prepping/casting. This condition does not stack with other conditions. The duration is a base of 15 seconds with an additional 1 second per 4 warding failure (e.g. a 161 endroll will double the duration to 30 seconds).

Rooted targets are immune to additional casts of the spell. After the initial 14 mana cast, the fist remains linked to the caster's hand and the caster may command the fist to perform various actions that may result in hitpoint and/or critical damage, as well as the target being subject to roundtime (RT) and various status conditions. These commands require additional mana and are subject to the rules of normal casting. Some may only be performed by training in Elemental Lore, Earth.

To execute an action, the command must be targeted at the foe held by the stone fist (e.g., WAVE troll, CLENCH troll etc.)

Stone Fist is ineffective against non-corporeal creatures.

Usage

  • PREP 514 | CAST {target} or INCANT 514 to cast this spell
  • Casting Stone Fist at certain items will crush them

Commands that do not break the fist can be followed up with additional actions.

Command Effect Will This Break the Fist? Mana Cost
WAVE {target} The fist will wave the target, leaving it somewhat disoriented and confused, adding RT No 2
PUSH {target} The fist will push the target to the ground, leaving it somewhat disoriented, prone, and adding RT Yes 2
THROW {target} The fist will throw the target to the ground violently, causing it to be prone, sustain hitpoint damage and impact critical injuries Yes 3
The following commands require training in Elemental Lore, Earth
SLAP {target} The fist will slap the target, causing hitpoint damage and possible crush critical injuries. Yes 4
CLENCH {target} The fist will squeeze the target in its grasp, crushing it and causing impact critical injuries to the chest, back, and abdomen No 6
POUND {target} The fist will pound the target on the ground while keeping it in its grasp. Damage is dealt to head/neck or limbs only. No 8

Lore Benefits

Training in Elemental Lore, Earth to is required to use SLAP, CLENCH, and POUND. SLAP requires the least Lore skill out of the three, while POUND requires the most. Attempting to SLAP, CLENCH or POUND the target with no lore training will result in the target being THROWn.

Drumpel has done some extensive testing on the test server and has found that the Earth Lore training requirements for the use of additional commands are based on per level training rather than rank thresholds.

This table is for 100% success in using SLAP, CLENCH or POUND. Varying skill from your EL:E ranks based on your level will provide varying results. For example, if you're 1x trained in EL:E, use of CLENCH will work about 75% of the time, the other 25% the CLENCH verb will fail and default to SLAP.

Command Per Level Training
SLAP .5x
CLENCH 1.25x
POUND 2x
