Krakiipedia River's Rest Contest

Feel free to ask any and all questions about the contest here. :)

I'm not sure about Andy and some of the editors that are used to updating krakiipedia frequently, but if anyone has any general questions on editing krakiipedia as far as formatting and such I can be reached by my AIM SN Adam0690 if anyone needs a fairly-to-quick response. Although, I'm not as good as Andy on the super detailed stuff. Adam talk 04:51, 7 December 2007 (EST)

Thanks for volunteering, Adam! Scribes 08:33, 7 December 2007 (EST)
Heh. Make sure your guys follow the Style Guide! Especially when naming new articles. I've noticed a few improper nouns that are capitalized unnecessarily. - Andy talk 02:15, 25 December 2007 (EST)
I'm going through and working on that, Andy. To the best of my meager abilities. It may take a bit and I'll probably make more headway once the contest is over. BAICYD 22:47, 29 December 2007 (EST)

Added a few things

I did a whole bunch of minor edits (linking exisiting articles, updating text, and adding links to be expanded) while familiarizing myself with the process of working within the krakiipedia framework. Looks like a fun contest, Scribes.

I've noticed! I'll actually start tallying your points up tomorrow, so I don't get behind. A couple pointers! Be sure not to just cut and paste information from its original source, unless you're quoting it (then you need to cite the source!), to avoid plagiarism and other fun doo dads. It takes a little bit more work, but just re-write it or summarize it in your own words. One can always cheat and quote extensively....but you didn't hear that from me. Er. Second point, when making comments on discussion/talk pages, sign your posts with four ~ marks. That'll automatically sign and date it for you. Its easier to find out who said what and when, versus checking the history section. Otherwise, you're off to a great start and I look forward to seeing everything you've worked on tomorrow. :)

Yeah, I realized I needed to go back do some rewrites last night. To be honest, I was just fiddling with everything to get used to "how things work". I tend to learn by doing (and making mistakes) instead of just reading the "How to" section. Most of the little things I added were in my own words (save Sal's Scripts and a few loresongs). I actually know the exact article(s) you are talking about that needs to be re-worded and I'll spruce it (them) up this evening. BAICYD 12:43, 11 December 2007 (EST)
Sounds great, and don't worry, you're going through the typical wiki-learning curve. I've been through it several times on different wikis of different sorts. Let me just say, Mediawiki is a god send. Scribes 13:15, 11 December 2007 (EST)
Hi Scribes. Ok, I've finally gotten a little time to fiddle with things. Done a bit of posting here. My big project I'm not quite sure how to do yet. If I can, I'd like to directly quote a lot of it, however, I tried to look at the Project:Copyrights page and it doesn'r exhist! I'm still in my learning curve, but if you can give me a pointer or two? OH, I'm hoping I'm doing this right.GAULKEJ 07:21, 17 December 2007 (EST)
Just two point for all that stuff on Aeia?!?  :) Just kidding, man (mostly). I tried to drum up some more participants before I left. Looks like alot people put a bunch of stuff up, too!BAICYD 15:47, 28 December 2007 (EST)
Remember, three is the max! And the scoring is entirely subjective based around some loose guidelines. But there's still plenty of stuff to post! You've got yourself some more competition and thanks for trying to drum up some interest! P.S. don't forget to sign your posts! Scribes 21:05, 27 December 2007 (EST)
Yeah, I know the point system... was just pokin' at ya. Forgot about the signing, though. I used up most my notes, so I think I've posted just about all the stuff I had in mind. Maybe I'll come up with one or two more things :) BAICYD 15:47, 28 December 2007 (EST)
