Casmus Tahllyth was one of several active military Officers in Ta'Vaalor during the Griffin Sword Saga in late 5102 and into 5103. In addition to helping supervise the recently-formed Golden Hawks and the Crimson Ravens elven homeland defense units, he frequently made an appearance to take care of any Dark Alliance supporters causing trouble within the city walls after the war had moved eastward. Some of these encounters included capturing and executing those followers, their corpses typically banished to another city and their heads often mounted on stakes outside one of the city's four gates. At one point, he struck one of the more troublesome Dark Alliance supporters on the face with his gauntlet, giving her a cursed wound. The wound festered for many weeks until Maluverre finally intervened, dispelling the curse and allowing it to finally heal.

He appears to be mature and taller than average. He has silver-flecked pale blue eyes and tanned skin. He has shoulder length, straight silver blonde hair swept back from the temples. He has slightly upswept pointed ears.
He is holding a dark red vaalorn longblade dotted with flecks of gold veniom in his right hand and a gold-trimmed dark eahnor shield in his left hand.
He is wearing a billowing red cloak, a ceremonial crimson vaalorn breastplate flecked with tiny slivers of gold veniom, a pair of dark red vaalorn gauntlets tipped with drops of pure gold at the knuckles, a gold-bound sheath, some ruddy scarlet leather pants looped with a golden-buckled belt, and a pair of dark leather boots plated with crimson-swirled gold.
