There's no hard cap to resistance strength or life, so you should be able to determine the exact percentage resistance that you can provide [20% + (Spiritual Lore, Blessings ranks / 2)]. Keep in mind that the calculation rounds down.

>Also, do we get resistance strength for either bonus or ranks? -Regyy

Resistance strength is dependent on Spiritual Lore, Blessings ranks. I believe items that enhance bonus will also translate into the appropriate rank enhancement.

>Mestys, sorry if you answered it in your post just now, but what about padding level? What would be the max padding level a Ranger could manage to use Resist Nature upon with enhancives to SMC? -SARDINUS

There is no hard cap to the amount of padding that can be overcome with SMC ranks. The number of ranks needed has thresholds on a seed 1 scale, so one would theoretically be able to place resistance on exceptionally padded armor with 120 ranks.

>I do not think this is an unreasonable request. Especially since it goes 10, 50, 100, 150, 300... and 20 30 40 for resistance strength. Help me out here. -Regyy

I've added some more resistance strength tiers to the ASSESS verb for Rangers looking over 620'd armor.

Subject: Resist Nature (620) Armor Accessory Update

Resist Nature, Ranger spell 620, has been updated to allow the spell to imbue certain armor accessory items with resistance. Any armor accessory items comprised chiefly of wood, leather, cloth, or bone are eligible for resistance.

620 resistance benefits for armor accessories will only apply when used in conjunction with rigid leather torso armor or below -- no benefit will be garnered from wearing them with chain or plate class torso armor. However, armor accessories imbued with resistance via 620 will also not cause the typical reduction in effective padding when worn with crit or damage padded chain or plate class torso armors, while the reduction will still apply when worn with rigid leather torso armor or below.

Subject: Re: can ranger resistance be removed?

Yep. Just get a ranger to go to an herbalist and "ask herbalist about remove." He'll sell you a 5k potion to strip the resistance out.

Subject: Re: I never use 620

I just finished some coding an update to make Resist Nature (620) work on heavier armors. It's going to require a new potion, which the herbalist will craft from a single new, rare foragable that can be randomly found (while foraging for any other item). The resistance applied to heavier armors will also only be half as effective. The changes won't be live until after they're reviewed (which can take a few weeks).
