A Popcorn Kettle is an item that can create bags or buckets of edible popcorn. It is sold at the Ebon Gate shop called Kettle Black. Popcorn Kettles have a variety of a la carte unlock certificates to unlock different customization options.

This is a Basic popcorn kettle, which requires ears of corn, as well as golden wands or fire magic to work.
Food, foraged items, tea/coffee flavorings, and other items can be added to the kettle during the creation process to infuse extra flavoring into the finished product. You can only add up to two (2) of these extra flavorings, but they are not required.
These extra flavorings will also affect the color of the resulting kernels.
You can also optionally add melted butter and/or salt.
Paper bags made with the Paper Maker can be added to the popcorn kettle to be used in the next batch of popcorn.

* Alterations to the 15/15/15 and long description are fine, though this kettle cannot take a show.
* The noun must remain "kettle" with the word popcorn preceding it in the adjective field.
* The kettle must be made primarily of metal.

As a Basic popcorn kettle, you have access to the following verbs: DROP/PUT (add ingredients), FLIP (change adjective of created popcorn), CLEAN (reset settings), PINCH (change between bag or bucket container), PUSH (create popcorn).
INSPECTing the kettle will provide you a wealth of information on the current state the popcorn is in.
WHISPERing to the kettle with an item in your other hand can send a copy of that item to the proper authorities if the kettle isn't properly accepting something as an ingredient.
You get no sense of whether or not the kettle may be further lightened.

This is an Auction Quality popcorn kettle, so it does not require any charges or ingredients to work. Food, foraged items, tea/coffee flavorings, and other items can be added to the kettle during the creation process to infuse extra flavoring into the finished product. You can only add up to two (2) of these extra flavorings, but they are not required. These extra flavorings will also affect the color of the resulting kernels. Bag containers must be a paper/parchment material and have an appropriate noun for a bag. Bucket containers must be wood or metal and have an appropriate noun for an open-topped solid container. NOTE: You need to provide a max 15-character article (IE 'a bag of'), a material/noun that gets used in the popcorn's messaging (IE 'paper bag'), the part of the description leading up to the noun (IE 'a bag of <adjective> <noun>'), and and words after the noun (IE 'crafted from red and white striped paper'). Usage
Custom ContainerAdds a custom container slot. Each slot includes one custom bag slot and one custom bucket slot. You can have 10 custom slots on the kettle for a total of 10 custom bags and 10 custom buckets. When initially applied as an unlock, slot designs are blank but can be altered by a merchant.Long DescriptionAdds the ability to have a long description on the popcorn. You can choose to toggle whether you see the long description of the popcorn or the bag if your chosen bag/bucket design has a long description.Cooking TimeAdds the ability to adjust cooking time for the popcorn. This will let you have undercooked or burned popcorn, as well as some adjectives specific to this.Flavor EffectAdd the "Spicy" or "Stale" after effect to created popcorn.Weavable ItemsAdds the ability to create popcorn that can be used as a weaving item.Additional InformationThe kernels will also have different colors based on what you put in. The popcorn itself also has some fun verbs - you can definitely target the EAT verb so you can stare at someone/something while eating popcorn. You can also TOSS it to try to get it into your mouth (if you target yourself) or just throw it at someone/something. The OTS designs are essentially 'a bag of <adjective> <popcorn>' or 'a bucket of <adjective> <popcorn>'. The containers in the messaging for those are 'paper bag' and 'wooden bucket' respectively. Rather like the Bottletraption designs you can make a long description of the bag or bucket with only palceholders needing to be the adjective and the noun. So an example would be 'a rainbow-hued paper bag of <adjective> <popcorn noun> decorated with dancing unicorns'. For the custom ones, that is. If you unlock the long descriptions, you could toggle the part that is after the noun to describe the popcorn inside instead of the bag. |
