Cobbling materials are used in the cobbling system to create cobbled footwear. Cobbling materials come in two main varieties: uppers and soles. Uppers are required to make any sort of cobbled footwear while soles are optional. Some cobbling materials only be used to make certain types of footwear, such as only clogs, slippers, etc. For full information on the cobbling system, see the main cobbling article.
UpperUppers have a standard LOOK/SHOW description that indicates that they are cobbling uppers. In addition, uppers that are restricted to certain types of cobbled footwear include an extra sentence noting that restriction. The walnut has been carefully prepared to be used for creating uppers for quality footwear. Close examination shows pattern marks on the gilded walnut as the uppers for a pair of chopines.
