Talk:Aurach's Two Weapon Combat Guide: A Ranger's Perspective
I added a few sections where they seemed appropriate. This makes working on different parts of the page much easier since you can edit a small section instead of the entire page at once. If you would like to remove some of the sections I have, you can edit the entire page and remove the "==" marks which create sections (adding more "=" creates increasingly small subsections). I also added a few links to some of the skills and spells mentioned and tried to tidy up the formatting (it was a bit borked when it came over, hopefully it's better now). Also, it's possible that the training stuff might look nice in tables, but I've gone with bullet points for now since that's simpler. I should point out that I've been writing a guide to Buff spells, which includes a lot of the information on buff spells that's repeated here (with more, since I've also done up the MnS circle). Once the formatting is settled down on that, it should be easy to transclude here if desired. SARAH3 (talk) 16:47, 16 February 2015 (CST)
- I guess I am going to toss this in here. All skills and spells are listed elsewhere. I am trying to focus on how my character used specific spells/skills available to his profession and style of training to meet the challenges a TWC character will face. Adding in a link to a buff guide after spells would be cool. Am really thankful for the editing help.--SHEN1 (talk) 01:49, 17 February 2015 (CST)
Introduction blurb
I really hope I'm not stepping on any toes, but I thought it might be a good idea to mention (and link) rangers and two weapon combat in the first sentence of the article so I worked on the introduction text. I tried to preserve the original phrasing while unifying it and creating a smooth transition into the next section. I also tried to keep a similar tone, though it probably needs a snarky remark about sniping ranged rangers since I figured insulting more of the other ranger builds was a nice plan. :P SARAH3 (talk) 06:07, 17 February 2015 (CST)
- I knew this was a bad idea. I have worked on this less than 24 hours and your rewriting my input. I am going back to hunting and minding my own damn business. Feel free to write the article, remove Aurach's name from title --SHEN1 (talk) 07:22, 17 February 2015 (CST)
- I am sorry you feel discouraged, Aurach. Cross-edits should not happen at that rapid-fire pace I don't think, but Sarah and I were doing some amongst ourselves in the same room so I think it was one of these "click here" "click there" mistakes with some fallout. I think it's a reason she added sections, since I always insist either of us to edit one specific section at a time, etc. These are not meant to be excuses, only to hope you can see the honest mistake. We all think you were doing a swell job here and would like you to continue your work. Actually, wiki editing can be really fun, but it can be pretty frustrating, too! I tried to cover some of its aspects in my entertaining guide to gswiki, which I try to approach with the philosophy of "Stop. Look. Think." (If you look at the history for that page, too, you can probably see something familiar which happened to me that happened to you...but you weren't in the same room so we're really sorry about that!) Sarah is genuinely sorry for putting you off. If your experience could shed any light to my Raging wiki guide, please feel free to make some changes or discuss with me. Maybe I should find a way to auto-fail people on the test and force them to read it all again? DAID (talk) 11:54, 17 February 2015 (CST)
- It's also neither here nor there, and I would never change the title of someone's page with their name in it, but tend to dislike putting my own character's name in guides. It's just my opinion, but that's how I did Popping boxes some time ago. One of my reasons, besides that I want to encourage other people to edit it, is that it's easier to wikilink ^_^ DAID (talk) 12:00, 17 February 2015 (CST)
