Claws of the Drake is a Meeting Hall Organization focused on fostering an immersive roleplay gaming environment, and cross cultural roleplay. It is based out of Icemule but considers its scope global in nature.

IC: A collection of adventurers who were inspired by stories of the old Kannalan Empire, a governing body made for the greater good of the lands that accepted all races and cultures who were willing to contribute. The Claws of the Drake seek to promote the exchange of ideas throughout the lands to increase cultural understanding and unity across cultural divides, warn the innocent of impending dangers that could destroy the peace, and keep an eye on powerful forces in the lands who have shown a propensity for harming others.

OOC: The Claws of the Drakes seek to promote immersive RP in the lands and believe that Roleplay is the end goal of Gemstone IV. The advocate for and practice focus on RP and helping others get involved in RP events.

Founding and Purpose

In 5122 various adventurers started sharing stories over drinks and recognized a growing trend in the land for powerful entities to abuse the trust of those without resources. During one such tavern gathering old Kannalan was brought up as an example in contrast to the current state of the continent, an empire that was created by all to serve all.

The Kannalan Empire, and later, the Kannalan Alliance were composed of multiple races from independent city-states that banded together for the greater good. Agreeing that there was much nobility in these ideas, the adventurers decided to make a goal of increasing understanding and cooperation between the various races and cultures of Elanthia, while opposing the expansion of the current autocratic empires of the land. They would support peace and neutrality, while fighting against discrimination, subjugation, and hate.

They decided to call themselves the Claws of the Drake. The weapons of the beings that ruled Elanthia before the rise of the Arkati were seen as fitting symbols. All beings were equal under Drakes, as all beings with peace in their hearts should be equal today.

Structure

A core of officers administers and leads the group, though the group is considered an organization of peers. All members, including those on the council, get a single vote, and thus, an equal say in voting matters. The current council is:

Talon Dendum the Wind in the Willow
Master of Whispers Blade Yardie
Master of the Feast Morikun
Master of the Scrolls Draelor
Master of the Coin Queatus

Activities

In normal activities, a Claw works against anyone or anything that grows too strong and ambitious to maintain peace with neighboring lands, folk, and businesses. They aid the weak and oppressed and try to free those who are in bondage to others. They exchange information from all walks of life and between all the races to improve the lives of all and ensure that, in secret, no one seeks to dominate another. The Claws often sing and play games but behind the merry making they keep an eye on events of the lands. While they respect all nations of the lands as entities who themselves have their own right to sovereignty, they remain wary of the largest and strongest, as they pose the greatest threat to expand and consume their neighbors.

Insignia

A circle formed by opposing black and white claws.

The claws indicate a willingness to fight in the name of freedom, equality, and balance. The colors and shape are meant to convey that even seeming opposites can be made to fit together. They remain independent, but work together to form a stronger whole.

Joining

All those who agree with the goals of the Claws are invited to join. Those wishing to join may approach any council member. Membership may be approved by any two council members. Membership will be official upon induction in the MHO hall and reciting of the oath:

“I shall not abide the bondage of one soul by another. I shall ever seek to understand where others might condemn. I shall ever seek to bring together what circumstances might drive apart. I shall remain vigilant against those who would shatter the peace. When the tides of turmoil sweep across the land, I shall make of myself a rock. When freedom and sovereignty come under attack, I shall make of myself a shield. And finally, when the invader sets foot on the soil of the free, I shall make of myself a Claw.”
