The weaving lathe is a fluff crafting script that applies to miscellaneous items, and is part of the Weaving tools family of scripts. It was originally released at Wavedancer 2006. The following facets are able to be customized by a merchant: custom articles and custom nouns. It can carve a gemstone to convert it into a weavable item. Unlocked lathes can add customizations to the end result.

Additional Information

When first released, lathes had no tiers and converted gems into beads with no other options available, however later updates added greater functionality, including a second tier that can be unlocked via certificate. Older lathes are automatically converted by using ANALYZE on them. Beads are still available as a noun for unlocked lathes.

Most treasure system gems can be worked on by a lathe. Gem replicas created via the Bugs on Parade, Life Aquatic, and Jeepers Creepers systems also work.

Restrictions

Some gemstones (based on their special nature) will either not be allowed for use at all, will have special handling, or will have specific restrictions.
