"Darthiir" is the Drow word for "surface elves" in the Forgotten Realms setting of Dungeons & Dragons. The Dark Elves of that setting live underground and have a visceral hatred for their surface dwelling cousins. Wishing to destroy them was their only unifying quality as a race. Despana and [[Book of Tormtor|Tormtor]] are the names of Drow noble houses, where Despana was infamous for its demonic summoning. |

Dharthiir was a powerful arch-lich, Despana's general in the Undead War, and, according to some, her consort. He was last seen at the Battle of ShadowGuard.
