A heavy quartz orb contains the spell "Mystic Focus" which cannot be learned by player characters at this time.

Rub the orb to initiate the magic (no magic item activation skill is required).
The magic within increases one's casting strength by +20 if below level 20, and +10 if 20 or above.
Each orb contains one or two charges.

First-person initiation message	You rub the quartz orb in your hand. Feels smooth! A sudden clarity of thought comes over you, and you realize that you now understand arcane mysteries that were previously incomprehensible.
Third-person initiation message	{Character} rubs a heavy quartz orb in his hand. A look of dawning understanding comes over {character}. His quartz orb suddenly disintegrates!
Expiration message (first-person only)	Like a faint wisp of a barely-remembered dream, your brief, enhanced comprehension of arcane mysteries slips away.
