Hidden, also known as stealth mode, is a status condition in which a character cannot be seen in the room using LOOK. Being hidden is different from being invisible in that it is not reached via magic. One can become hidden using the HIDE (verb), or being buried in snow when dead.

Hidden status may be broken by others using Dispel Invisibility (109), Sun Burst (609), Elemental Wave (410), Major Elemental Wave (435), Searing Light (135), and POINT (verb). Hidden characters may be detected using Presence (402) or SEARCH (verb). Certain minor demons can also find hidden characters.

UNHIDE will take a character out of hiding.
