Hornswoggler

The Hornswoggler of River's Rest is a quiet fellow who provides money exchanging services for the town. He sits in his ratty tent and smokes on his hooka with a giantman guard always close at hand. When exchanging notes for silver, be aware that the hornswoggler's fees vary according to his whims.

Appearance

Hornswoggler's Tent

There is a strong funk of recently disturbed dust and pungent smoke in the still air of the small tent. A small, smoky oil lamp provides a dim yellowish light. In the back of the tent a remarkably homely giantman snoozes while leaning against a pair of sturdy-looking strongboxes. The hornswoggler sits cross-legged on a bamboo mat, smoking tobacco from a hookah. You also see a battered wooden sign.

Hornswoggler

The hornswoggler is a gotch-eyed, ferret-faced human who avoids looking directly at you. He is dressed in a deep blue caftan loosely belted around his waist. The hilt of a knife is barely visible in the folds of the caftan. His oleaginous smile reveals a gold tooth.

Giantman

Although magnificently muscled the snoozing giantman has a singularly homely face. His lumpen face is the color and texture of an over-boiled potato. His nose looks like a malformed halfling's foot. Reddish hair sprouts in unsightly clumps from his jug-ears. His few remaining teeth, visible as he snoozes, resemble the yellow fingernails of a great ape.
