a matte black vampire lily
Description: While not a true lily, the vampire lily's blossom, cradled by a modified leaf called a spathe, bears a similar shape to the other flowering plant. The plant is heat-producing and capable of increasing its internal temperature, which serves both to protect it from cold weather and to attract pollinators. A side effect of this increase in temperature gives the vampire lily a very pungent odor similar to rotting flesh. The black vampire lily only blooms at night.
