The APPRAISE verb has many uses which may aid those who inhabit Elanthia. APPRAISing gems and skins may reveal their quality and/or value when held in the right hand. Skill in trading is required for this to be effective. Empaths may APPRAISE a player, live or dead, to see and better manage their wounds.

In town shops and at Merchant shops, APPRAISE will tell how much an item costs.

On creatures, APPRAISE will tell you the level of your opponent in relation to yours.
