Delivery for Mother

[Town Square Central]

This is the heart of the main square of Wehnimer's Landing. The impromptu shops of the bazaar are clustered around this central gathering place, where townsfolk, travellers, and adventurers meet to talk, conspire or raise expeditions to the far-flung reaches of Elanith. At the north end, an old well, with moss-covered stones and a craggy roof, is shaded from the moonlight by a strong, robust tree. The oak is tall and straight, and it is apparent that the roots run deep. You also see the Enzot disk, a green-eyed grey and white kitten, the Xoaludas disk, the Rozanikka disk, the faenor Chandrellia disk inlaid with intersecting bands of jet, the Etzers disk, a grey-headed hawk that is flying around, the palm frond-shaped Leafiara disk, an amber-eyed tawny range wolf, the Sylarra disk, a large acorn, a grey wolf that is sitting, a round silver-banded barrel, an herbal remedy donation bin and some stone benches with some stuff on it.

The sky begins to fill with huge clouds, dark and grey on the bottom, pale and white atop, their puffy crowns ascending toward the heavens.

Pukk says, "He's not here."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Wow, Atlee sho lil."

Pukk recites:

"Everybody join Leafiara!"

[General] Leafiara observes, "Looks like rain in the Landing tonight."

[General] Chandrellia thinks, "Tut tut looks like rain."

Speaking softly to Pukk, Chandrellia says, "That was quick."

A pale-faced coppery barn owl flies in.

Chandrellia softly exclaims, "Stay safe!"

Dipping into a lazy dive, the coppery barn owl glides to the ground and lands.

Speaking to Chandrellia, Pukk says, "I'm Pukk on the spot tonight."

Speaking relievedly to a pale-faced coppery barn owl, Leafiara says, "Ah, arriving just on time like always, the hero you are."

Chandrellia softly says, "How Pukkish of you."

Speaking to Leafiara, Kippe says, "He has friends who have friends."

The coppery barn owl hoots at Leafiara.

Speaking sagely to a pale-faced coppery barn owl, Leafiara says, "Forget the Knave, the Rooks, or anyone else--no one has a better network than you."

Rozanikka hesitantly asks, "Excitement brewing?"

Speaking to Rozanikka, Kippe says, "The signs say yes."

Chandrellia yells, "Join Leafi if you want to have a most amazing adventure!"

Rozanikka asks, "Is there another visitor scheduled?"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "One drop?!"

Speaking musingly to Rozanikka, Leafiara says, "Possibly."

Gutstorm yells, "Yooz kin do better den one drop!"

[General] Thadston thinks, "Eve."

[General] Leafiara greets, "Evenin' Thadston."

[General] Gutstorm thinks, "Heddo Thadstin."

[General] Goldstr thinks, "Evenin Sir Andrews."

Speaking reluctantly to Chandrellia, Rozanikka says, "Well, I DO like amazing adventures."

Rozanikka suspiciously asks, "On a scale of one-to-deadly, how amazing are we talking here?"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "You must be tall to enjoy dish adventure."

Speaking calmly to Rozanikka, Leafiara says, "I think things are probably fine."

[General] Pietra asks, "Oh, you again. What fresh hell tonight?"

Speaking drunkenly to his scruffy red beard, Gutstorm slurs, "We gonna shay heddo to Thadshtin?"

Speaking amusedly to Gutstorm, Leafiara says, "Only if he tells us where he even is."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Me cant watch!"

[General] Shinann thinks, "Evening, Thadston."

[General] Stormyrain thinks, "..Marshal."

Out of the crowd, a deeply hooded figure emerges, face concealed in a featureless black mask with blood red sigils.

Atlee says, "Yous all has uh good nites."

Speaking surprisedly to Mother, Leafiara greets, "Oh, good eve there."

Pukk nods at Mother.

Mother nods at Pukk.

Speaking quietly to Mother, Pietra says, "Hello again."

Mother softly says, "Hello, it has been sometime."

Speaking to Mother, Pukk says, "I hope you have been well."

Berost deeply says, "Coulda been longer ...."

Leafiara muses, "Little over two months now."

Pukk grins at Mother.

Mother softly says, "We have seen some accomplishments, and in no small part due to many of you."

Mother nods at Pukk.

Shinann asks, "We?"

[General] Chandrellia thinks, "Evening Sir Andrews."

Mother softly says, "Malluch's children are gone. The Lich has recoiled."

Speaking to Mother, Pukk says, "I was able to get you the letter you needed."

Mother nods at Pukk.

Pukk says, "The security was tight around it."

Pukk removes a piece of weathered parchment from in his spidersilk cloak.

Speaking curiously to Pukk, Leafiara marvels, "Wow, you've been putting in some work out there."

Mother nods.

Mother softly says, "We suspect the Knave will seek to grow during these opportunities that have arisen. With the cult and the Lich removed."

Mother softly says, "We intend to move soon against the Knave. We will keep you informed."

Mother softly says, "So you may either lend your hand, or stand down."

Chandrellia softly says, "Wait how is the Lich removed he was just here the other night."

Pukk whispers something to Mother.

Chandrellia softly says, "Well last week."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Leafiara says, "They withdrew to Lich's Landing."

Chandrellia softly says, "Aahhh."

Telagan says, "He has a new play thing."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Why Mutter botter telling ush when she gonna do what she want no matter wot we shay?"

Speaking to Mother, Geijon says, "We do nothing if you don't pull off th' mask. My Order will eradicate yours as we have before for all of your so called leaders or bought."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Rozanikka says, "He was placated."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Leafiara says, "And that's not even on the same... plane, or maybe not the same timeline."

[General] Thadston thinks, "The chairs are good for rocking."

Geijon turns to face Mother.

Pukk whispers something to Mother.

Mother smirks at Geijon.

Chandrellia softly says, "Either way that's one more out of our town, for now."

Berost deeply says, "Now that tha path been cleared she gonna "help"."

Mother nods at Pukk.

Pukk nods.

Geijon smirks at Mother.

Speaking to Mother, Geijon says, "Call me a liar."

Speaking to Mother, Pietra says, "Don't listen to that crazy old man."

Asben whispers something to Pietra.

Pietra whispers something to Asben.

Mother steps back, slipping into the crowd and the dark of night.

Thadston on the Move

Speaking softly to Geijon, Chandrellia asks, "You just dont when to pick your battles do you?"

Leafiara musingly says, "Odd."

Leafiara continues, "Well, onward to Thadston then."

Leafiara recites:

"Moving to Hearthstone, I believe."

[Hearthstone, Front Porch]

Airy and open, the porch is enclosed by smooth, freshly painted white modwir up to a height of about four feet. As you ponder the sky-blue color of the ceiling and a lacework of deep green ivy that crisscrosses the open space between posts, the hubbub of the world beyond quickly fades away. Rocking chairs of various sizes are an inviting sight, and an elegant green marble arch provides a tantalizing view of the splendors inside the old manor. You also see an affronted swamp spirit that is flying around, the translucent Bhenidre disk, a white-tailed broom hare, a cup of honeyed mint tea, a scorched oak sideboard with some stuff on it, a purple modwir bin, a doorman and the porch steps.

Pietra whispers something to Pukk.

Thadston says, "Evening all."

Speaking musingly to Thadston, Leafiara says, "Probably."

Stormyrain appears to be struggling to keep a straight face.

Speaking to Thadston, Pietra says, "Probably gonna try at least."

Pukk whispers something to Pietra.

Pietra whispers something to Pukk.

Thadston says, "I won't be long tonight. But I needed to pass along some information. Tomorrow night I need everyone sharp. Spelled, stretched, ready to go."

Pietra whispers something to Pukk.

Thadston says, "I won't say much more."

Speaking softly to Thadston, Chandrellia asks, "Ohhh someting on the wind we need to know about?"

Speaking to Chandrellia, Pietra exclaims, "Exercise night!"

Speaking to Thadston, Goldstr asks, "So danger be a comin?"

Speaking to Chandrellia, Pietra says, "Put on your comfy pants."

Rozanikka hopefully wheedles, "Just a little hint?"

Speaking softly to Pietra, Chandrellia says, "So do warm ups and stretches, got it."

Thadston says, "If we're going to have any chance, the less the Knave can guess, the better."

Leafiara curiously says, "If it's weapon delivery night, I'd been thinking--we had all these complex ideas, but really it doesn't need to be any less simple than that the militia has the right to inspect everything coming into town."

Leafiara musingly says, "Oh, the Knave."

Thadston looks over at Leafiara and shakes his head.

Leafiara nods slowly.

Thadston says, "We still need to come up with a final plan for our two-prong strike."

Chandrellia softly says, "Wait now I'm really confused."

Speaking drunkenly to Thadston, Gutstorm whispers aloud, "Then shoulnt we shpeak shumplace more dishcreet sho dey cant hear ush?!"

Speaking to Thadston, Pietra says, "Cake and whiskey. That always works."

Thadston says, "Our move against the Knave and the Rooks at once..no, not tomorrow. We're not ready."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Leafiara says, "That's why he's not revealing many details..."

Thadston says, "Tomorrow night might help us get closer."

Geijon says, "Fine."

Speaking drunkenly to Leafiara, Gutstorm reassures, "Me knew dat."

Speaking to Thadston, Geijon says, "Mother recently vanished from Town Square. She has her own agenda."

Thadston says, "She's always had her own agenda."

Thadston asks, "Will you join me in fighting the Rooks?"

Lurrah whispers something to Sorlu.

Thadston peers quizzically at Geijon.

Thadston asks, "Can we still do that together?"

Speaking to Geijon, Pukk says, "She was just stopping by to see how everybody is."

Speaking to Pukk, Shinann asks, "What was that letter you gave her?"

Speaking drunkenly to Pukk, Gutstorm slurs, "Memmber yer theory about Aoife and Dwi...me got da shame theory about Thadshtin and Mutter, yooz gittin me?"

Thadston glances at Pukk.

Thadston asks, "What'd you hand off to Mother?"

Thadston peers quizzically at Pukk.

Pukk innocently says, "I don't have any idea what you are talking about."

Chandrellia softly asks, "It was a love letter wasnt it?"

Pukk says, "Besides, I can't read."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Pietra says, "There was no letter."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Kippe confirms, "Yes. That."

Speaking softly to Pietra, Chandrellia says, "Sshhhh."

Speaking to Thadston, Geijon says, "Th' rooks have massive support currently."

Speaking to Thadston, Pukk says, "We were just discussing the weather and stuff like that."

Thadston says, "I wouldn't call Pukk massive support."

Thadston smirks.

Pukk laughs!

Pukk grins.

Speaking to Thadston, Geijon says, "I just had an hour long argument with Sir Bristenn about intent and th' consequences of our actions. I'd dare say I did not convince him."

Thadston says, "I have no intention of doing the Rooks' work for them."

Speaking to Geijon, Goldstr asks, "But our Order will be ready aye?"

Speaking flatly to Geijon, Pietra asks, "ONLY an hour?"

Pukk says, "I'm just a PUNy supporter."

Thadston says, "And throwing our people into the fray to hunt the Knave and then leave the Rooks unscathed."

Geijon whispers something to Thadston.

Thadston says, "I think our best approach is to cut off two heads. Not just one."

Speaking to Thadston, Pietra asks, "And you have a fantastic plan to split us while we fight?"

Speaking to Leafiara, Pietra asks, "Or do we figure that out too?"

Thadston says, "No. We'll meet later this week to make that fantastic plan."

Speaking to Pietra, Leafiara says, "He just said earlier, that still needs to be finalized."

Thadston nods at Pietra.

Pietra begins chuckling at Thadston!

Thadston says, "Minus Pukk."

Thrassus says, "That has been done effectively before."

Geijon says, "Neither are for th' Landing, for th' people and for survival. Their intent betrays them."

Speaking to Thadston, Pietra says, "I thought you were referring to the weapon shipment plan."

Chandrellia softly asks, "I know people aren't going to agree with me, but wouldn't it be smarter to use one against the other and at least be rid of one more than take a chance on both of them actually becoming allies and turning against us as one?"

Speaking to Thadston, Pukk exclaims, "Why? I'm innocent of all charges!"

Speaking to Chandrellia, Leafiara says, "They've already been fighting against each other, unless I'm not understanding your suggestion..."

Pukk exclaims, "I didn't do anything!"

Speaking to Thadston, Pietra says, "He can't even read."

Pukk exclaims, "It wasn't me!"

Thadston says, "I don't think the Knave and Rooks would join forces."

Thadston nods at Chandrellia.

Speaking to Pietra, Lurrah asks, "Weapon shipments?"

Speaking to Thadston, Pukk says, "I'm just a lovable Pukk."

Speaking to Thadston, Goldstr says, "I agree on dat."

Speaking drunkenly to Pietra, Gutstorm slurs, "No worriesh, uer jush sheein fingsh."

Speaking to Lurrah, Pietra says, "Yes, there are weapons coming from Zul Logoth, via Amos, and that's a whole other mess to think about."

Speaking softly to Leafiara, Chandrellia says, "If we throw fists at both at the same time, they may see a need to put aside their differences until we are out of the way, then they would go at each other if we use the Rooks to be rid of the Knave then we only have one left to contend with not two."

Thadston nods at Pietra.

Thadston says, "The weapons may be a good way to bait the Knave and the Rooks. We'll see."

Speaking to Pietra, Geijon says, "When I came here, I could not read. My father Gaq never taught me. I am..flawed as anyone. I have hoped to show my intent and be explicit because of my shortcomings."

Speaking tentatively to Chandrellia, Leafiara says, "Okay, I think I understand what you're saying, but I highly doubt they'll ally after they've been attacking each other for half a year."

Speaking to Thadston, Pietra asks, "So tomorrow is planning night?"

Speaking to Pietra, Lurrah says, "Considering the metal shortage I wouldn't know there were many to ship."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Arnt invar weaponsh kinna...junk?"

Thadston says, "I hope to have more information on the shipment soon. From a little girl."

Thadston looks over at Pietra and shakes his head.

Thadston says, "Tomorrow night, I need you all spelled, stretched, and ready to go."

Pietra chuckles.

Thrassus says, "They are better than the steel which most use."

Speaking to Thadston, Pietra says, "Do we have to run around town twelve times? I hate that."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Ready."

Speaking softly to Leafiara, Chandrellia says, "Stranger things have happened hon, I mean look at us recently, 4 or 5 different organizations show up to take over our town."

Thadston says, "We might."

Speaking to Geijon, Pietra says, "Well we all have our issues, dear."

Speaking to Thadston, Goldstr says, "I nae use dem magics but I will be reDY."

Berost deeply says, "Tomorrow it be then."

Speaking quietly to Thadston, Nightflame says, "The rooks are notorious for always taking the side that benefits them most, they have no alliegance or honor to others, only themselves and their black market mercantile ways."

Chandrellia softly says, "I'll be ready, might be a little late for the show to start but I'll be here."

Speaking to Nightflame, Pietra exclaims, "So you're a rook!"

Speaking quietly to Pietra, Nightflame says, "Hardly."

Speaking to Nightflame, Pietra says, "But you appear to know secret things about their intentions. Interesting."

Pietra whispers something to Pukk.

Thrassus asks, "What's so secret about them being black market smugglers?"

Parting Words

Thadston says, "That's all I had. Tomorrow we'll meet and...be ready. We might need to be quick moving too."

Pukk whispers something to Pietra.

Speaking softly to herself, Chandrellia says, "Something tells me this isn't going to end as well as some hope."

Pietra whispers something to Pukk.

Rozanikka quotes, "Quick moving... ready to go..."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Pietra exclaims, "Well we have you and others to fix us back right!"

Pukk says, "Okay, so if Cryheart is around early, we will need to get him a bunch of coffee."

Rozanikka asks, "Where are we going?"

Thadston glances at Geijon.

Pukk whispers something to Pietra.

Thadston says, "And..."

Speaking quietly to Pietra, Nightflame says, "I know them because I've seen what they have wrought over the years, and they are about themselves, if it behooves them to join the Knave, then they will, whether Mr Andrews thinks it so or not."

Thadston glances at Geijon.

Thadston clenches his jaw.

Pietra whispers something to Pukk.

Thadston twists his head slightly, cracking his neck. He looks relieved.

Speaking softly to Pietra, Chandrellia says, "I will never turn my back on this town or my friends or the citizens of this town, so no matter what I am beside you all."

Thadston quietly says, "I am sorry for using your maul on your face."

Thadston nods at Geijon.

Speaking to Nightflame, Pietra says, "So I guess I need to stock up on the cake in case it becomes a show."

Thadston slowly empties his lungs.

Pukk whispers something to Pietra.

Speaking drunkenly to Pietra, Gutstorm slurs, "Push me chair?"

Speaking quietly to Pietra, Nightflame says, "Buying cake will support the..."

Leafiara amiably states, "Well, good to see progress."

Thadston says, "...don't make me be sorry again."

Thadston smirks.

Speaking to Thadston, Geijon says, "I allowed it. You have had exceptional trauma. I have supported you."

Speaking to Thadston, Goldstr says, "Ye knows our Order be sworn to protect da Landin."

Pietra whispers something to Pukk.

Speaking to Thadston, Geijon asks, "But beyond a few, and me, would you win?"

Speaking to Thadston, Geijon says, "Even if I died."

Speaking to Nightflame, Pietra says, "The bakers, who make lovely food out of flour and eggs and chocolate. But mostly chocolate."

Geijon turns to face Thadston.

Pukk whispers something to Pietra.

Thrassus says, "That is generally the definition of winning."

Thadston says, "Until tomorrow..."

Lord Thadston just went down the porch steps.
